Up until I found all these videos on youtube I didn't know that Sonny Terry had made music with so many people. He's more than just a blues musician, he played gospel and bluegrass really.

I am in a class called the history of american folk music. a guest speaker came in a few weeks back. his name, Mr. Kreamer i beleive. he inherited all of Guthrie's original steel recordings. There are maybe 7 songs that have never been released... pretty sweet

some fool in the swedish nobel prize commitee today said that " american literature is second rate " . if some people would LISTEN a bit more then they would understand that much of american literature is based on the great tunes like this one ...toni morrison, kerouac, whitman, james baldwin, langston hughes , they all were immensely MUSICAL ..why are so many europeans too stupid to just get it ?!
