  • Moon jellies can sting! I was in a jelly fight (throwing moon jellies at each other), and I got hit in the face! It BURNED!

  • he crazy playing with a box jellyfish bitch

  • I want a Box Jellyfish now.

  • he shall be mine, and i shall name him Squishy, and he shall be my Squishy!

  • @tazmon122 That's funny.

  • @Freedive101 he's quoting a cartoon.

  • @user99673 yes, I know. From Finding Nemo.

  • man youre near the MOST POISONOUS ANIMAL IN THE PLANET HOLY SHIT!!!

  • This is one of the reasons I believe we (humans) don't belong in the ocean, or beach. There is some dangerous stuff in the ocean, not just jellyfish, but things like sting rays, eel, to name a few. I'll still go to the beach, but I rarely go in the water. Salty, sandy water isn't for me anyway.

  • @phattieg well, you probably are in more danger riding in your car to the beach than getting in the water. There are many wonderful things in the ocean that you wouldn't get to see...if you don't get in there. I've had my family in the ocean from an early age...my thought is that you can teach respect...it is very difficult to unlearn fear.

To each his own though.. so I respect what you're saying...but Salt water is definately for me. The ocean heals me...

  • @Freedive101 Well, consider this. I live in Florida. Ever had sea lice? They suck. Getting out the water with gritty sand chaffin your ass, nah. I'll hijack a hotel pool in a hot second while I'm at the beach. I will walk the shores, and usually get knee deep. I'm not phobic of the ocean or anything. I just know what it's like to get stung by a jelly fish. I've also stepped on shit that's stabbed me in the foot.. No idea what it was. Needless to say I wear those aqua shoes now, lol.

  • @phattieg if we didn't belong in the sea because of dangerous animals we belong nowhere, there are dangerous animals on land too! Lions, bears, venemous spiders, the lot! :)

  • @DeathKitty123456 Well, lets see, I can shoot a lion, or a bear, and I can step on a spider, but I can't out swim a shark, or anything else in the ocean for that matter. And last time I checked, guns don't work too well in water. :-) Just saying. To each his own, and for me, I will chill AT the beach, but not IN the beach. But I live in Florida, we have plenty of lakes. :-D

  • @phattieg you can get special electrical guns to use on sharks that stuns them temporarily and most of us can't get a hold of a real gun anyway and lakes in florida are just as dangerous as the sea... alligators :P

  • Funny you're dealing with the worlds most harmless jellyfish and the worlds deadliest ANIMAL

  • I saw one just by the docks at Sydney. Pretty things, they are. :)

  • can't box jellyfish kill you?

  • @UndeadDraco Some species are extremely dangerous. Australia has a tiny one called Irukandji which can can kill, and another - Chironex fleckeri which is very dangerous.

The ones in this video are from the Carribbean - probably carybdea alata (sea wasp jellyfish)...not killers to my knowledge unless you're allergic to them but I am sure they deliver a potent sting....thus the gloves.

  • @Freedive101 sea wasp/box jellyfish are chironex fleckeri name's

    so that thing kills

  • @13thmistral Chironex Fleckeri are Pacific sea wasps. The ones in the video are carribbean sea wasps...nasty but not deadly like Chironex. The carribbean box jellies only have four tenticles. Chironex has about clusters of tenticles.

  • @Freedive101 there is more then one jellyfish with the name sea wasp ?

    never knew that ?

in anny case, that smaller one had 4 tentacles

doesnt make it that one, deadly ?

  • @UndeadDraco yeees, most deadly jellyfish, but there are two types of it, the ones around Australia are more deadly

  • those jellyfish are pretty :)

  • Ive been stung by a moon jelly, and yes it hurt like crap. They are NOT harmless they do have a sting and it hurts! They are not as bad as a box. HMMM, MAYBE I SHOULD WEAR MY SUPER JELLYFISH PROTECTANT SUIT!!! >.<

  • @realsaraSKELLINGTON Sorry to hear that. Most accounts I have read, and my personal experience with Moon Jellyfish is that they don't have much of a sting. I have since read that some people are sensitive to Moon jellies and possibly allergic. thanks for this info...I guess always good to be careful when dealing with Jellies.

  • @ZACKBAGNALLVIDEO Nice. I have some video of Comb Jellies somewhere on tape from my old camera. They're pretty interesting. Sounds like you have a wonderful aquarium.

  • I wish people in Austrailia had that type of swim suites for protection of these jellys so they could go swimming without getting stung then, less people would die. Some prefer pools instea of the ocean. But, these are fascinating animals! I don't know how people can hate them this much. So i give my score(: 5/5 if i could give more i'd give this video 100/100

  • 0:25 cool! an irukandji! 10/10 if i could rate that.

  • @rwagoner actually no..not an irukandji. These are a much more benign related species in the bahamas.

  • @Freedive101 really? it sure looks like one though.

  • is the moon jellyfish dangerous?

  • @MourneOne

Moon Jellies are NOT dangerous. I have heard they have a minor sting.

  • now we have one over here Chironex Fleckern, also called Box JF ....... and we don't f!#% with it ....... nasty beast. Pretty though.

  • @b1marks

You'll note I have gloves on...but...you've got that nasty Chironex And Irukandji....I would not risk it even with gloves!
