if you love the slimness of the apple keyboard then you should get the asus eee keyboard for its buit for windows, keys are backlit and it comes with a mouse
Quick question -- how long does it take for this keyboard to wake itself up from sleep? I'm currently using a bluetooth keyboard by Microsoft, and it goes to sleep if it doesn't register a keypress within several minutes, and takes several second to wake up from this sleep state. So, I'm curious if this keyboard has a similar lag. Thanks.
Hi. I found your review very helpful. My worry is I'm writing a thesis for my phd so I will use Tab button frequently for editing my thesis. Does the wireless provide with this button.? TQ
@HelloKittyChick2006 No they do not, because it is wireless and powered by double AAs, that feature would probably cut the battery life in half. you won't have a problem with it though.
I've been playing world of warcraft(at least 3 or more hours per day) with that keyboard for almost 3 months and the battery is still alive, i don't even open the battery slot yet.
p.s.: when i said 3 or more hours of playtime, i meant more than 5.
just followed the tutorial on how to set this up on windows :D worked great and the keyboard feels really nice. One things does anyone no how to do ctr alt 'delete' on here :?

What a piece of junk. The way this is designed, it looks like my laptop keyboard! The media keys are integrated with the function keys, no numpad, awkward arrow keys (although, better than the Arc's). How much did it cost? $70? My Microsoft Ergonomic Keyboard cost me half as much! Now THAT's a keyboard.None of this Bluetooth and battery BS.
@korwinblue That's debatable. The function key integration is to keep the keyboard compact, and I suppose they could justify the cost because it's made of full unibody aluminum, not plastic like the Arc or the Ergo keyboards. But yeah, I see your point =]
@marquesbrownlee True, but I fail to see why a unibody aluminum form factor is necessary. Not worth the added cost, not worth to put that in any consideration over a more affordable plastic keyboard.
@korwinblue to each their own really. it's a choice. You don't have to buy a house made of sturdier materials such as metal and concrete and designed to be elegant and sleek but some people would prefer that over a typical wood-frame, vinyl-siding, suburban home. But it comes with a cost. All apple is doing with this keyboard and many of their products is filling in that market gap/price point in the PC market.
@korwinblue WTF are you off your rocker or something? Dude, seriously this keyboard is NOT a piece of junk. It looks better than those piece of crap Microsoft keyboards and the keys are all evenly spaced out etc. They're easy and fun to type with and not awkward at all. You don't know shit, Apple wireless keyboards are awesome.
Marques, just wanted to say how I always look forward to your videos, and always find them interesting even if they're about crappy apple hardware with a nice case and a cute sticker/logo :)
why do you call yourself a Windows user when you have a 12 core mac pro? also, I would be using this keyboard if it was cheaper and had better Windows support
finally a reviewer who tells you their opinion on the product, too many tech reviewers on youtube are just stating the specs, if i wanted spec i could just go on the website.
Great review! Do you prefer the USB or Bluetooth version? And you may want to look over those focus points on your t2i, the DOF is a bit heavy and "wrong" at some parts of the review (;
@XVSProductions Thanks! I prefer bluetooth over USB because there's no cables or dongles involved but that's just my opinion. I'm still a noob at DSLR videography but I'm working on it =]
I picked up this keyboard last week for my PC a few weeks ago and I love it. You should check out UAWKS to get the media/volume keys working. It's been working great for me.
My opinion is, its a very nice keyboard. But, is a little too small. I mean, im sure if you get used to it it would be really nice. I played around with one for a couple hours once and ya know. Its nice, just to small to me.
Nice simple review, thanks. I like the size of it, good for my boney fingers. Not sure if I'd buy it, but it does appear to be pretty decent for word processing and other basic typing which is right up my street.
@marquesbrownlee Was there a reason why you went for windows rather than mac? I read in the comments that you had a mac before but that you sold it, what made you take this decision? I'm asking this because I plan on getting a new computer soon.
@HeavenFort To be honest I just can't stand the way Apple has complete control over everything and I can't change what I want. iTuenes, for example is a pain to use, is slow, and is much more expensive than what I use now [Zune PAss]. Overall I dig the customizability and openness of Windows.
@marquesbrownlee Yeah, the closed system is rather annoying, so is iTunes being a freaking memory hog, but I got used to iTunes and never tried out Zune, which hopefully, I'll be getting my hands on soon. These may be the only reasons why I'll never leave Windows entirely but might not use it as a primary OS.
