Love the Ending how Shepard drifts helpless through Space, getting no air to breathe, the camera zooms out, a few piano notes and then the logo. Fuckin awesome Intro!
when i first played this intro scene, i literally stood up in front of my computer and gave my computer a standing ovation. a fucking STANDING OVATION.
No, the voice acting is horrible, and i don't want to sound sexist, but it sure isn't suitable that a women is saving the galaxy with fight. You do see the artworks and bioware's default choise.
It sure is great to see a good ass while playing, but that's probably it.
What really annoyed me about this was how the Normandy was on fire; inside and out. It really ruined the atmosphere because I spent the entire time thinking "How is that on fire? There's no oxygen in space..."
@Extnoob There's no gravity in space either, but Shepard was walking on the Normandy's floor. There must be some sort of airlock or something. Come on man, they've discovered mass effect fields for crying out loud, their tech is far beyond our comprehension! Don't think so much about it lol.
There is no fire in vaccuum sections (i.e When Shepard is walking looking at the planet thru the breach) BUT there IS oxygen inside the ship. You can see and hear the oxygen escaping when Shepard opens the door to the CIC.
There is nothing wrong with the intro. Just appreciate its awesomeness ;)
@FAButzke Do me a favour, pay close attention to 4:50; that's a shot of the Normandy from outside - there shouldn't be fire, let alone smoke coming from it. And watch at around 7:10. There are flaming pieces of the Normandy's rubble floating around. There are scenes like that littered throughout the video.
About the escaping oxygen, in real life, that would have torn Shepard apart.
Sorry, I try to appreciate it but I just can't when something so obvious as that ruins it.
That is easily explained by oxygen being vented through the holes. Where there is a hull breach, there will be fire. At least until the oxygen runs out.
About Shepard being torn apart: There is a scene in Mass Effect 1 where they engage magnetic locks on their boots to get off the citadel elevator at the end of the game. It's not that hard to imagine that Shepard did the same here.
I think you just are looking for flaws. I know there are flaws but remember that is just a game ;)
Wow, i can't believe what kind of gamers are there. You don't enjoy games, you spot every fucking little detail and react like some angry little kid. Who the FUCK cares???
If that's unrealistic please look at the asari or krogan or i don't know what else. Man, realsim has left mass effect way back, so enjoy those details. Who knows, maybe the suit for 150 years will be that powerful to hold that oxygen.
Just enjoy the "game" or play Heavy Rain or Read dead R. They are realistic.
@wanenagasiren At what point did I say I don't enjoy games? I don't spot every little detail, I spotted one flaw and simply said that it ruins the moment for me. There's a difference between made up aliens and straight-up defiance of physics. Realism hasn't left Mass Effect back, that's what suspension of disbelief is for. But you can only disbelieve so much. In fact, I love games that aren't ultra-realistic. Don't comment on subjects you know nothing about.
I just am saying that you are wrong about it cause Mass Effect DID left realism. You really think Krogan will exist or stuff like that? I'm just saying that one little detail shouldn't ruin the moment of an SF game.
@wanenagasiren Your first comment towards me was littered with anger and cursing - that to me sounds like you were getting a little too excited.
Did you read my comment? I'm saying there's nothing wrong with making up alien races and that like because that is the driving force in a lot of stories. What I'm saying is taking a solid law of physics and completely disregarding it makes me stop in the middle of the video and think "hang on a second". That's all. Ok? Do you understand me now?
@wanenagasiren What are you talking about? Yes, I have. I bought the collectors edition of both ME1 and ME2 on their release days. In fact, ME is one of my favourite franchises. Look, this is stupid. I'm not going to reply after this. I doubt people appreciate reading two people arguing on a YouTube video such as this.
@Jonz66 Yeah the intro is awesome in Mass Effect 2. I wonder though how they will start ME3 and how they will reset ur stats. I mean Shepard dying and being brought back to life by Cerberus is way to reset ur stats but how r they going to do it in ME3?
Cerberus finally betrays Shepard and hunts him down.SR2 blows up Shepard goes into some kind of coma and then when he wakes up some time later u reset stats.
the intro armor is about a million times better than the junkyard scraps they force you to wear in the campaign. organic, smooth contours>anime inspired bullcrap.
So does all ur information from the first game transfer to the second one? So i dont have to redesign my character? I ask that cuz in my game Kaiden is dead.
@robie04043 dude if you actually talked with joker during the first game you would know that he has a congenital brittle bone condition. Try pursuing the dialouge, there are alot of memorable moments.
Ok, play the first game. Like Shadowmourne07 says, he has a bone condition. He's pretty much capable enough in ME2 to shoot a gun and limp around, but don't expect him to do anything more active than that or he'll shatter and not recover for days or weeks.
Um....Joker isn't dead. That blast was his pod blasting off. He is most definitely alive. And he plays a pretty significant role during one point of the game.
I'm kinda dissapointed that the naked run assumed all your choices in the first game were Renegade... although I had a transfer from ME1, so I shouldn't complain
@CommanderGene Nope, not all, just choices that would 'complicate' the plot for newcomers. Often this meant renegade choices, but I believe some Paragon as well.
Ok I think I got you.. I think they made a great job of making the game awesome for people who played the first one, yet keeping it good for newcomers.
Everyone is hoping to have pretty much every living squadmate in ME1 and ME2 back on the team in ME3.... (that goes to like 12 minimum, 15 maximum squadmates, so its not like its impossible... but with the possibility that any ME2 squadmate can die in ME2... everyone is scared that ME3 will have have an all new group plus Liara or something)
It's really creepy & disturbing to listen to Shepard's last, dying breaths, especially with headphones on and it being your sole focus.
Well done BioWare.

Male shepard is the canon one, just like KOTOR Revan was male but the exile was female.
