this whole album just shows how musically diverse KISS is and even proves that Gene is a great bass player just listen to all the previous albums and songs like love theme and you could probably give him a well earned chance

It's just my opinion, but somehow the new KISS looks tired, bored, "working" and not rocking

They've had comebacks before, but this time they look different

I even loved Eric Singer in the Revenge era, he was a monster with the drums, but even he looks like if he's just playing to get pay and not coz he loves to play

I think KISS needs a break or to open their eyes and realize again what true rock n' roll is all about...

Ummm...if this album is so great, why is it KISS's worst selling album of all time? The fact of the matter is that this album is horrible and is not a KISS album by any means. It may have a couple of songs, if that, that are decent but isn't interesting how they never play any of these songs live in concert? This is definitely KISS's most forgettable album and it's too dark as well. "Sonic Boom" is directly, exactly and precisely what KISS needed to bring that fans back together again!

@thepolishprince1 First, it was the worst selling due to lack of promotion and KISS' not touring to support it. Second: except for "Lick It Up" and "Revenge" tours, the band NEVER played many of the non-makeup songs live. This holds true even for "Sonic Boom." Gene and Paul thought COS was a mistake, but I like it when bands try new things in an attempt to grow. If you judge COS solely by comparing it to classic KISS, you'll only deprive yourself of hearing a really solid effort from KISS.

This sure is a great album. Gene's voice in "Hate" is incredibly heavy and all the riffs are cool.

I wouldn't go so far saying that this is their best album but it's definatly Top Ten.

i found this on an interview with gene and paul,where they were talking about their favourite songs from albums, and this is what paul said,which i found quite funny:D

CARNIVAL OF SOULS (1997) - Paul: Tuning down to D and singing about the darkness of the world while living in mansions in Beverly Hills was a little absurd. We were no more from Seattle than from Saturn. Favourite track: I Will Be There.
