The Isles have so much cap room it isn't funny. DP takes up a small portion of it compared to the amount open. I wish they finish 30th for 5 more years, because they will be stacked. DP is a great goalie, and if he gets back to the top of his game, he will be the core of this team. Nuck fans shouldn't talk because if Luongo gets injured, he has a 12 year contract. To the Olympics, you're right, but to allow Ryan Callahan, a player KO is clearly better than, on the team over him...

The Isles do have a lot of money invested in DP, but they have millions upon millions left over. They could technically afford Ovechkin right now. Snow refuses to make a move, therefore the Isles will be bad for a long time. I hope they finish 30th for the next 5 years, as long as they get a new arena. A few more years of high draft picks and we will be stacked. To the Olympics, no the US doesn't, but to allow Ryan Callahan in over him is mind-boggling. Okposo is ten times better than him..

Nope, you're right, he's not going to be a panzee that gets special treatment from the refs, but he still will be an allstar, olympian, and Stanley Cup winner. The Islanders are going to be a good team, and if you payed any attention to the NHL this season you would know that.

The Isles have been tanking every season since i've started following the NHL about 7 years ago. If they keep this up, they will eventually have a cup cotending team. But right now, with a large part of the team's cap space stuck with an underachieving and injury prone goaltender in dipietro, unless they get a superstar-calibre prospect from the next few drafts, they won't be winning the cup anytime soon. He will be an Olympian because US hockey isn't as developed as Canadian, Russian or even Sw

As for the team I support, it would be the Vancouver Canucks. I know they're not perfect right now and will probably have to be underdogs in the playoffs, but I trust that Gillis will make a move or two to get our bottom 2 lines going again.

Where in this interview does he say he doesn't like hockey? That's a pretty stupid thing for you to say this guy plays in the NHL. Michael Jordan is one of the greatest athletes to ever live, i play hockey and i also grew up idolizing him. I love hockey but i also love basketball/football/MMA. Just because somebody grew up playing hockey doesn't mean that's all their life consisted of.
