  • I quite literally grew up on this movie, it even inspired me to join the volunteers when I was younger.

    Man this brings back memories.

  • My dad drew a poster of this movie and i was too curious to find out what it was... never knew this movie was so dramatic

  • Remarkable Score, Remarkable Film!

  • Just noticed Will's uncle Lester from Fresh Prince is one of the firefighters.

  • Always had this horrible vision that what if Steve Mcqueen and Paul Newman didn't make it back in time, to tie themselves down.

  • Loved this film it forever changed my life. saw it in 74 when I was 11 made me want to become an architect and thats what i studied in college. made me greatly respect firemen and now I own the dvd..and yes I think its one of best films with the best cast made...still think it should have won best picture, but thats just me

  • @TheKingofSwang Nahhh, no way anyone was gonna beat The Godfather Part 2 that year. Although you should check out the youtube vid of that year's Academy Awards ceremony and see Irwin Allen's reaction when he lost. =) You're right, this movie was awsome!

  • @TheKingofSwang Im with you there, certainly one of the best disaster movies from that decade and deserved lot more recognition than it probably got.

  • And ofc 08:28 - 09:03 Also the best!

  • At 00:29-00:50 that music is so powerfull! Keeps building up perfect with the scene from the helicopter passing over the Tower ingulfed in flames! LOVE IT!

    Roger

    Norway!

  • awesome film! but I still think Bulitt was McQueen's best film. you may disagree, but thats what I think

  • Probably because blockbusters aren't made anymore.

  • Mcqueen owned Newman in this film

  • it was really something to see it in the theater

  • Hi.

Yes, I watched this movie first time in 1975, here in movie teather Chihuahua, Mexico.

When TV shows this movie, I always watch it again.

    Regards.

  • Probably the movie with more quantity of great actors and actresses in History.

    Pure legends !!!

  • One of the reasons i loved this movie so much. you're right.

  • Nice movie. Remamber as kid.

  • Our beautiful towers and the triumph and tragedy

  • The main title music to The Towering Inferno is the greatest single piece of film music ever recorded in my opinion. I bought the vinyl soundtrack in 1975 and paid $168 for the very rare soundtrack CD in 2004 but it was well worth it.

  • @madmacks61 The is the superman main title

  • The score for this film is so rare, and I really need it! Could you tell me where you got this from please?

  • another quote for the film:" tie yourself up goddamnit!!" with a face like he's scaring the mud out of him

  • No you're right, there is no dialogue because I enjoy (and hopefully others) watching some scenes with just the music and image.

I'm a huge John Williams fan and I love the work he did for The Towering Inferno.

  • @ste20000000 There was no dialogue in this scene probably because the filmmakers did not want to give out too much information on how to use plastic explosives, for liability reasons.

  • is it just me or is dialogue missing?

  • amazing film amazing actors

Quote from the film: im running instanttanious and your running delayed and steve mcqueen and paul newman best actors in the film rip steve mcqueen
