Malcolm Mcdowell, you sly bastard. He's soo creepy, yet so friggin attractive.... this role would be perfect if he had just kept his regular accent. I could totally see him going up to the girl and being all like "darling..." with that sexy accent. and then BOOM clockwork orange on her ass. -- oh shit they totally made him narrate. His voice = EARGASM!
This episode used to scare the bejesus out of me when I was a kid. Thanks a lot Malcom McDowell. But I loved it all the same...it truly was ahead of its time.
I know its was made in the 80s and I bet the Actress who plays 'Riding hood' very good but....she's way to old to play 'little riding hood' she's appers to be 16
I think this one is about rape. The wolf wouldn't stop following little red riding hood, as if her red hood was inviting him. The wolf was all scary. The funny part was the old lady who put a gun at him. So they crawled out of his stomach, when it was cut in the end. The actress was cool, I remember her in the 80s.

The wolf in this version is so dimwitted and just...blah. The orginal story portrays the wolf character as crafty, charismatic. hes suppose to be like the Bad Boy girls fall for, only he doesnt secretly have a heart of gold, just more Bad.
The original story doesn't always have a wolf(or even a red hood). But yes, in the original story the bad-boy wolf is able to talk his way into her good graces, and the original story is talking about the kind of wolf that can get you into "trouble" if you let him in. The red hood symbolizes puberty, so the girl can get pregnant. A woman pregnant out of wedlock was outcast in those days, so obviously it was a very bad thing. Its a warning not to be alone with men after pubety.
It might sound stupid, but that damn wolf scared the crap out of me when I first saw this when I was 5, and I'm now 23. I'm seeing it for the first time in almost 15 years, and it's still appealing to me now. If it was on TV now, I'd watch it.
Yeah, he is now. But when I was 5, when I first saw it, werewolves freaked me out, and he was close to a werewolf as he walked on two feet, and looked like a man. The scene where he eats the Grandmother, in her POV, scared me as a child, because the last thing I wanted to see was a monster like that getting to eat me. Sorry for the long explanation. I watch it now, at 22, and I love it! Never even knew the Big Bad Wolf was Malcolm McDowell either.
Wow. So this was back in the early 80s? The wolf sure looks funny in this show. And who would have guessed he used to be in a pack? Its interesting that Red's actual name is "Marry".
Lol before I watched this I just pictured Malcolm McDowell using his normal British accent. It's funny to me cuz it's like he's doing a fake accent or something even though he is British.
The wolf mentioned at 8:20 that the other pack of wolves didn't want him because, from 8:28-8:31, he mentioned that he ate a little boy by himself. Then he mentioned at 8:33 that the other wolves kicked him out. Also, he mentioned from 8:36-8:38 that he's tired of sharing everything with the other wolves. So this is probably the reason why the wolf is not with the other wolves.
The mother is so stupid and the father is too protective

This seems to be a typical Malcolm McDowell role. He often plays the bad guy, who appears to be good, but is very sneaky.
His role in Law and Order Criminal Intent, Mr. Slaughter, really reminds me of his role here.

The actress who plays Little Red Riding Hood is played by Mary Steenburgen, and when they filmed this story, she was either 29 or 30 years old.
