the first bend is wrong, do it like this: push it up, dont strike the string yet. when the string is totally bend up, strike it, let it back down.. trust me :)

Your pinkie is never really ''needed'' to play any songs guitar works in and X Pattern, Pinkie just makes things easier but learning to use your pinkie is harder then just playing it the other way, Metal songs when they break from the X Pattern there's a trick to that won't go into detail.

Because songs like this doesn't requier much skill to play, they are only great to listen at. The ''garbage metal'' i cover nowadays is far more challanging and fun to play then the old rock ones. I still like rock but it's just not as fun to play as metal. I'm sorry you don't like the newer covers.

How do you get that awsome knocking on heavens door solo sound? The sorta "thick.......uh........ya know.......deep tone"? I have messed with my amp and Les Paul FOREVER, and cant seem to get that sound. Is it some sorta pedal i need? Chorus? Distortion(which i use)? Im just not sure anymore :( Could someone with some experience help me out here? Thanks all.

just throw up the gain and crank the reverb all the way, and it should sound pretty good

Make sure you have the switch on Rhythm not treble for a start !! That goes along way to getting that sound.
