we had this one guy who sounding just like one of our DS's, he would trick pvt's all the time. one day the other DS's heard him so they made him do it in front of the 1'st sgt, the CO and the DS he was copying. the CO and 1'st sgt thought it was the funniest shit and the DS was pissed cause he got embarassed in front of the whole company by an IET soldier. it was funny cause you could see that humiliated look in his face
haha we had a DS that his voice would crack when he called cadence. we did these impersonations when doing night fire so we were at the range. the private did the impersonation and that DS chucked a kevlar at him lol. then another guy while on our final FTX was impersonating when our DS was teaching us how not to fire and all that. he didnt know the DS was behind him but the DS was crackin up
ya the drill sgt major is right there. lol thats jokes. but i think its even funnier when the instructors mess up like the sgt on my basic. wow throws a t-flash right at us instead of into the dirt infront of him.
It happens the last week or day of basic training the drill sergeants will ask if anybody can do a good impression of them. they don't get in trouble or do PT its just for fun. I had a guy at my BCT that did the best impression of our DS
that soldier is already in a unit as you can see on his right unit patch. so he must be a mos-t or in a training environment. still a great army tradition.
This is maybe on there last day of bootcamp. We also did our drill sgt. impression on our last day. It's a tradition in the US Army bootcamp. Just a morale booster for the newbies.
To clarify, this is indeed an impersonation of DS Moore from E/309-- and that's him standing in the back. The DS being impersonated in the second video to this is DS Stokes.
Aw, Man!! Back when I was in basic training at Ft. Knox, we had this one private who looked like he could have been the younger brother of one of our Drill Sergeants. He always had us laughing uncontrollably whenever he did his DS inpressions!
you know this going to sound very weak but why? Why the hatred between two good branches? Either branch is good but are you really going to argue that the Marines are not better than or equal to than the average enlisted Army grunt? I mean isn't the Marine training more vigorous than Army Basic?
outstanding/don't no who he was impersonating there on scene, but damn o'boy took me back to my bootcamp, summer 1987,fort bliss tx/he'll definetly make a great DI some day....thxs for your service to your country son
hahahaha... wow the memories! We had this one male that could immatate one of the DS perfectly and he would come out of nowhere and start impersananting him and scared everyone out of their wits. too funny.
ah man we had some good impressions of our drill seargants they let us do impressions of them on qualifying day on the m16 range to alleviate some stress... then they smoked us. but drill seargants are real cool people. except for senior drill seargant crawford that guy was just a prick. good vid
berets are earned not issued!(ranger etc.).......we had this opportunity 20 years ago......my senior drill stuttered......funniest thing i ever heard making fun of him.............
I was the person that made the impersonation of one of My drill sergreants really well, I had to do it in front of the whole company one time. Everybody couldn't stop laughing, even my drill sergeant I was making fun of. Which Fort is this at?
hahah thats funny as hell....we had a DS Kaminsky, and this kid named drain could do a perfect impersonation of him.....impersonations of DSs are classic
Our drill sergeants asked for anyone who could impersonate them at U.S. Weapons Day 2 at Fort Jackson and it they laughed hard at seeing their how well some of the soldiers in our company could impersonmate them. You are around drill sergeants for so many hours for so many weeks that you can't help but be able to do impressions of them.
holy shit i went through army basic training over 6 years ago. they still do this??? it was like...the only fun day we had and the only time the drill sergeants showed they were human, allowing impressions
I went through during the BDU cycles, too, and we were allowed one time to make fun of the drills. That was on final FTX. The drills and 1SG got bored during chow one day, and started hollering for anyone who could impersonate any of the cadre to go and show them. It was the only time we could do it without repercussions. The rest of the time we did it at night in the barracks after most of the cadre had left.
Man I wish someone would have caught some of the DS impressions during my BCT. Those were always the funniest.
