  • Oh no. Nimoy was right, Shatner can't stop hamming it up. For God's sake, you're almost 80 years old! They killed Kirk off 17 years ago. You didn't get cast in the last movie as the young Kirk. YOU ARE WEARING 20 POUNDS OF MARY KAY ON YOUR FACE! - GET A LIFE!

  • @Jamiethewookie (2of2)

I am willing to bet Shat will be in the next one. Although Chris Pine did some good work in playing the role as a young James T. Kirk, William Shatner will remain always as the only one who could ever faithfully "play" the part of Captain James T Kirk.

  • This PC game, STARFLEET ACADEMY was SO MUCH FUN! It took me over a month to complete it to the rank of Captain. The actors that play Captain Forrester, Vulcan 1st officer Sturek, Magea the Andorian, and the rest of the bridge crew were excellent! Of course, Shatner, Koenig, and Takei did a good job as well. This was a 5 disk set. Unfortunately I lost 4 during a big cleanup. The producers should update and re-release this game so that it could play on Windows-7 and other modern platforms.

  • @ACLTony

Yeah that would be great if that could happen but unlikely since Interplay is pretty much defunct, that and all CBS wants to develop are games for that new Star Trek movie.

  • @MHPanruka - Thanks MH. Too bad that Interplay is gone now, but I assume that CBS still has the master programs to those games in their vault. Hopefully someday they'll have a change of heart.

  • I guess he had to do SOMETHING between movies to pay the bills.

  • @imtheonlysane1here - Actually Shatner has been financially well off since the mid 1980s as he was playing in the Star Trek movies, TJ Hooker, and years later Rescue 911 and Boston Legal.

  • *sobs* He's talking to me!1!!nerdgasm!!!

  • "Good morning cadets, we have a crisis on our hands...the glue holding my fake hair is gone. We must find a new tube of tuope glue immediatly or I'll destroy this entire facility." "You'll be in command of this mission." ;-P

  • So, how do you make movies of this game? I try to make just screenshots, and they come out with the colours all wrong.

  • the uniform is wrong

  • Looks right to me.

  • @wrlord Only his pin needs to be a wee bit more to his left (our right).

  • @wrlord I like this uniform most of all.

  • Comment removed

  • His Starfleet Insignia is too well centered as its almost covering his heart when it should be on the top of the left breast. (sorry, geek moment)

  • @sgtmyers88 He is just fat!

  • Part from his insignia pin being slightly too far to the right id say it looks ok

  • @tvTrequer No, it's the hairpiece that's wrong.

  • @mirasame @wrlord

maybe, but the red tunic should be tight in the neck also

  • @tvTrequer The turtleneck is a little bit different from the movie version but that's the only difference.

  • He is totaly reading that from a board... I love the flag though :)

  • Good Morning Cadets we have a crisis on our hands.....some....things... on the wing.

  • lol!

  • there seems to be.....in.....his.....hands

cause you know that Damn Clown was on the wing destroying the the wing @_@!

  • Can you imagine if Batman Begins had Adam West in it as "old batman"? It would've flopped. I think batman begins is one of the reasons we have a new trek movie.

  • Pretty good game. But I don't think it compared to Bridge Commander though.

  • The ships handled like starfighters not starships. 'Klingon Academy' fixed that and it has Chris Plummer as Chang!. (Took me forever to find a copy) However I do agree 'Bridge Commander' is the best Trek sim to date. Although while the PC version sucked the X-Box 360 version of 'Star Trek Legacy' is pretty cool.

  • Star Trek Legacy for the X-Box 360 is probably one of the best Star Trek games out there. The controls, storyline voice overs and ships are fantastic. Five generations of Star Trek in one game. Brilliant!

  • Yeah the PC version was buggy as hell but the 360 version is pretty sweet. The graphics are almost CGI quality and it's cool to have all the Captain's voices and all the ships.

  • @jkeelsnc

And Klingon Academy. And soon... ST: Excalibur.

    But SFA is still great.

  • DS9 was the bomb. Yes, I agree that it started off slow, but it took push things way furthur than "by-the-book" Janeway and day-to-day TNG. DS9 was a much more darker series, and wasn't afraid to get it's hands dirty, unlike the other series.

  • How can the new Star Trek movie not have this mane in it? William Shatner is the man who not only resurrected Star Trek, but as our beloved Captain James T. Kirk, saved the galaxy countless times. William Shatner is owed a debt of gratitude for saving the franchise.

I think the fans would accept a quick resolution to having Kirk "come-back" in a quick time-line story as an "old" version of himself interracting with the young Kirk. They can make it work, just write it.

  • How can the new Star Trek movie not have this man in it?

  • When did he 'resurrect' Trek? He didn't save the franchise.

Perhaps the fans of Shatner would accept a bad story which only serves to explain Shatner's return... but not the other fans and not the general audience. Another film with Shatner as Kirk would kill the franchise forever.

  • Sure he saved it. What happened to Star Trek after TOS ended? The "resurrection" occured with the release of the STTMP in 1979. Can you imagine having STTMP without Kirk? Nope, neither can I. When did all the other Star Trek TV series occur? why, after Kirk returned in STTMP and saved the franchise of course! Plus, why do you say it would have to be a "bad story" in order to have Kirk return? Silly!

  • Berman killed him twice, i dont think even kirk can come back from that.

  • @SZSearcher that man is atleast 70-80 years old...

  • @crackshack2 He is 79. So what?

  • @SZSearcher I'm wondering what you think now the new film has come out and been a huge success?

  • @Jamiethewookie 1of2) It was an excellent film, and I understand the reason the young people liked it. I was happy Nimoy reprise his role of Spock, which played well with TOS fans such as myself. Hopefully, Shatner will be asked to be in the next one playing Kirk in some type of time-line role.

  • Im ready when you are, admiral.

  • Admiral, we are wasting precious time!

  • Neat! Shatner's final performance as Kirk. I miss the guy.
