my brother was a tube player in this year on this field. This was by far my favorite show livingston as ever put on and i havent seen one as strong since.
Yeah I remember that year. That was when I was a senior and after four years, it was great to be in that marching band. While we were there, we always were on top of every contest. Memories are good.
I'm apart of the Royal Brigade as of right now, and I hate to say that we are no where as good as we used too. The last time we made a sweeptakes was in 2004. Nobody wants to stay in band. But their are still people who love, and care about band, and that's what is keeping us going. Last year we had about 60 people on the field right before the end of the season, and we started out with 72. I hope we will be a sweeptakes band again before I graduate in 2010.
Yeah the Livingston Band has fallen off dramatically since I was a band member in Jasper from 2000-2003. All that matters is that you have a good group of people who care. It's not about numbers even though numbers are very good. I was at the Jasper vs. Livingston game this past year (August 2007) and there are some very gross-sounding trumpet players that play too loud. It was disappointing at the marching contest. Just keep it up and you'll be fine.
Yeah. Since you metion that...those gross sounding trumpets may or may not be my ex, and a guy that is in my grade. Those two can hit the highest out of the trumpets. If you see Livingston again this upcoming season let me know what you thought about us. How I'm feeling, it will be just about the same...disappointing.
This was six years before my introduction to Livingston High School's rather awesome music program, but still very nice to see the old uniforms. Wonder how Fife's doin' nowadays :D.
WOW!! I graduated from this high school and a past drum major. This was the Royal Brigade at its finest...always winning sweepstakes...boy the memories...
