  • I agree, their sound really takes you away. I love the fact that they are so melodic and it's not all about "shredding" all the time. IMHO...

  • MY uncle. :) Right now his wife (my aunt) is actually staying over my house cuz shes doing stuff here in Florida. :)

  • Perfect time capsule music for 1990s.

  • My personal favorite, but many other songs of theirs are a close second. Thanks.

  • Russ demonstrates what an awesome jazz instrument a classical guitar is.

  • You know? When these guys write a song and title it.. The song really feels like the title.. I've NEVER been to Brazil..but listening to this makes me feel like I have. GREAT BAND!!

  • @rainlvr1 I totally agree. Every song sounds just like the title. BTW I have never been to Brazil either, but I can picture it.

  • Super great! what a delight!!!

  • I had the opportunity of seeing these guys in person sooooooo many times and believe me they are all what they seem to be, freakin' genius. Kim is my fav for personal reasons.... :o)

  • Perfecto.

  • Super Groups

  • One of their best songs, but there are many more that I also like.

Steve Reid adds much depth to this song.

  • The Rippingtons are one of the pillars of the Smooth Jazz Genre and set a high bar that only a few of the really good groups can reach!!

  • On top of thier game here. But i miss a percussionist in the ripps of today. Curves Ahead will not sound the same if they even still play it on tour.

  • The first time I heard "The Rips" I was there biggest fan and have been since 1985 and have met all of them on many occasions. Kim is great to hang out with. They have been my favorite group thru all these years and will always be, I mean how can you improve on perfection???

  • Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!

  • I would love to have heard Russ Freeman and Chet Atkins perform together

  • Melody. Feel. Groove. Ripp's have it all.

  • Why hasn't Russ Freeman got a knighthood ?

  • one of the best smooth jazz band!

  • woooow son buenisimos clap clap clap clap clap hubieran de componer algo para DIOS SON MUY BUENOS EN SERIO MAS JEFF KASHIWA BUENO TODOS TODOS BAJO GUITAR... TODOS
  • According to Russ, this acoustic guitar is some off brand made guitar. As a matter of fact he says there's no way to even find out who the maker was. Nevertheless, it sounds better than some of the top of the line acoustics he has bought. It's his favorite acoustic.

  • amazing band!!!

  • Great video love it, thank you very much for posting! :-)

  • Great video love it, thank you very much for posting! :-)

  • Great video love it, thank you very much for posting! :-)

  • How can u dislike this music....i cannot understand it!! I guess itz the rejection of anything that isnt the status quo.....this group is beyond exellent!

  • very well said

  • what a smoothjazz masterpiece!!!

    Thank u

  • I was almost killed by this song. I was listening to it in my car one day and it caused me to fall asleep and crash into a light pole.

  • @jodygrind69 haha, yeah don't drive to this, it's for not driving

  • Amazing

  • Wot can I say.. a music inspired by a brazilian night only could be this good...

    Visit Brazil.

    2014 World Cup

    2016 Rio Olympics

  • yes one of my favorite cd's....great song.

  • lifts my spirit to great heights...in South Africa

we say this type of song "IYASHO" Zulu for awesome..Dibandlela

  • I saw The Rippingtons in Austin Texas about 10 years ago and they were amazing!! Going to See Al Demiola January 2010 in Austin, can't wait.

  • A band like the Rippingtons hits a peak when all the talent is combined in one place, space and time. This is an example of that fusion of talent at it's best. Sadly, although the band the Rippingtons are still around, they don't have near the fire of this past collection of artist who made the Ripingtons such a distinct and enjoyable sound.

  • Loved this song ever since 1993. Brings me lovely memories of summer evenings in Peru, or loving a Brazilian beauty in Puerto Rico... mmmmm...

  • wow now that is a nice dream in itself

  • Steve Reid is such a genius.

  • One of their most beautiful songs in my opinion, the name definitely coincides with the feel of the song

  • simply beautiful.

  • Just have to love how this song takes off, anyone live in Manhatted do me a favor go to the docks where they keep the yachts and play this song late at night, and tell me what it does for you!

  • Smooooove!!!!!!

  • Simply freakin' amazing. The Ripps rock!!

  • I saw them live in Fort Worth, in 1994 I believe. I have all of their albums - from jamming when I'm driving, flying, or just chilling at home, this band rocks! In one of the songs they did a medley with a Jimi Hendrix track - simply fantastic.

  • Pros at their craft. Amaingly good!

  • I like the acoustic part at the end of the song

  • who plays saxophone for this band?

  • in this video it is Jeff Kashiwa. others include Kenny G, Brandon Fields, Dave Coz, Paul Taylor, and recently Eric Marienthal and now Jeff Kashiwa is playing with them again. I have missed someone out who's name I cannot remember at the moment.

  • I always liked Jeff Kashiwa on sax, he seems to gel with Russ the best.

  • Outta sight group!

  • iS THAT TONY MORALES ON DRUMS (DARK HAIR) ONE OF THE ORIGINATORS OF THE RIPPINGTONS? THIS GROUP IS KNOWN FOR THEIR PERCUSSION SOUNDS AND PRECISION OF TONES. EXCELLENT MUSIC

  • Yes.

  • sempre uno dei miei gruppi migliori

  • i first heard this song at age 13 back in 1993 and since that time this has been my favorite song.

thank you for posting this song ^_^

  • Who is the guitar player? this is amazing!

  • Russ Freeman! ;)

  • Russ Freeman, the main guy of the group...

  • the only other group i can think of right now that can match the ripps percission is four play they are mastes

  • Steve Reid is the best in the world!!!

  • Love it so much ! thanks for posting : )

  • i was wonder if jeff had switched from soprano sax to alto in the middle of the song cuz I was kinda confused

  • i wish someone would put up tracks from the St. James album, but this is great

  • I love them very much!!! Thank You, bmgworld!

  • Truly a well-defined smooth jazz music

  • Russ Freeman is one of the greatest guitarists of any style of music. The ripps are a great concert must see!

  • I've seen 5 of them and I think they could do a much better job with concerts. They are so much better than their concerts are!

  • Long live the Ripps.

  • Beautiful song. This is true music.

  • Awesome!

  • I love the beginning with all the jungle noises! Can't believe one guy is doing that much stuff. Glad he is back with the Ripps.

  • this is definitive ripps..the groundwork for many groups to follow
