You know? When these guys write a song and title it.. The song really feels like the title.. I've NEVER been to Brazil..but listening to this makes me feel like I have. GREAT BAND!!
I had the opportunity of seeing these guys in person sooooooo many times and believe me they are all what they seem to be, freakin' genius. Kim is my fav for personal reasons.... :o)
The first time I heard "The Rips" I was there biggest fan and have been since 1985 and have met all of them on many occasions. Kim is great to hang out with. They have been my favorite group thru all these years and will always be, I mean how can you improve on perfection???
woooow son buenisimos clap clap clap clap clap hubieran de componer algo para DIOS SON MUY BUENOS EN SERIO MAS JEFF KASHIWA BUENO TODOS TODOS BAJO GUITAR... TODOS
According to Russ, this acoustic guitar is some off brand made guitar. As a matter of fact he says there's no way to even find out who the maker was. Nevertheless, it sounds better than some of the top of the line acoustics he has bought. It's his favorite acoustic.
How can u dislike this music....i cannot understand it!! I guess itz the rejection of anything that isnt the status quo.....this group is beyond exellent!
A band like the Rippingtons hits a peak when all the talent is combined in one place, space and time. This is an example of that fusion of talent at it's best. Sadly, although the band the Rippingtons are still around, they don't have near the fire of this past collection of artist who made the Ripingtons such a distinct and enjoyable sound.
Just have to love how this song takes off, anyone live in Manhatted do me a favor go to the docks where they keep the yachts and play this song late at night, and tell me what it does for you!
I saw them live in Fort Worth, in 1994 I believe. I have all of their albums - from jamming when I'm driving, flying, or just chilling at home, this band rocks! In one of the songs they did a medley with a Jimi Hendrix track - simply fantastic.
in this video it is Jeff Kashiwa. others include Kenny G, Brandon Fields, Dave Coz, Paul Taylor, and recently Eric Marienthal and now Jeff Kashiwa is playing with them again. I have missed someone out who's name I cannot remember at the moment.
iS THAT TONY MORALES ON DRUMS (DARK HAIR) ONE OF THE ORIGINATORS OF THE RIPPINGTONS? THIS GROUP IS KNOWN FOR THEIR PERCUSSION SOUNDS AND PRECISION OF TONES. EXCELLENT MUSIC
I agree, their sound really takes you away. I love the fact that they are so melodic and it's not all about "shredding" all the time. IMHO...

One of their best songs, but there are many more that I also like.
Steve Reid adds much depth to this song.

The Rippingtons are one of the pillars of the Smooth Jazz Genre and set a high bar that only a few of the really good groups can reach!!

On top of thier game here. But i miss a percussionist in the ripps of today. Curves Ahead will not sound the same if they even still play it on tour.
