@BlackPoison29 I think I read somewhere that his son or some other young child close to him was autistic (or something else, I don't know). Whenever this kid was afraid, he would go back to this early state of not speaking, and Depp liked the idea of that. Of being so stressed or afraid that words can't even cover it, ya know? So, he drew on that when he was interpreting this really crucial part of his character realising that everything he's seen is just his imagination.
