  • We're gonna need a bigger petri dish...

  • ding dong the witch is dead!

  • Put that in your Coffee!

  • BLACK GROWING BOOGERS

  • ittsss aliveeeeeeeee

  • eeew black boogers

  • Someone stole oxygen and hydrogen from my sugar cubes!

  • so can someone please tell he how my phone ended up like this?

  • burnt sugar.... wait AWMAGAWD its mutating to the black shugah monstah!!!

  • So will it unclog my toilet?

  • This is a little metaphysical for me.

  • wow it ended up like melting coal!

  • Now make some smoke bombs :)

  • DAMN NATURE! YOU SCARY!

  • :D caramel!!! :D

  • Were can i buy the acid in NYC?

  • @ErwinListSanchez sulfuric acid is found in car batteries

  • @ErwinListSanchez You can make it with antiseptic and sulfur crystals.

  • Boring

  • it turns into s$#*t

  • Hey look, a big pile of carbon!

  • doing that experiment bare handed is extremely dangerous... use gloves!

  • now you can eat it

  • What causes the sudden bubbling reaction towards the end?

  • Cool!

  • how to turn sugar into charcoal

  • did it died

  • its black its white^^

  • its symbiotes!!

  • I love that ! <3

  • this is sick o_O

  • it looks like its gonna turn into a monster or something

  • believe it or not, this reaction smells good :)

  • smells like what dude?

  • the smell is toxic...

  • cool

  • How???

  • LOLOL

  • lmfao

  • creepy xD

  • antimattercunt licks anal holes dry!

  • coal is basically carbon..

  • the reaction time is very long but it's real

  • Sugar plus sulfuric acid equals coal! :)

  • carbon

  • hmm

sulfuric acid an sugar does not look so healthy...

  • It smells terrible ....Like nasty maple sryup

  • can u still eat the sugar cube? will it still be sugary?

  • yes.

    NO FAIL.

  • its carbon.

  • what percent is the sulfuric acid

    i want to try this

  • its a fume hood

damn some people are too stupid and shouldn't be allowed to comment on things the know nothing about

  • yeah, the only reason they get on these videos is the tags "experiment, fire, explosion, fun"

  • y do u watch them? to further your understanding?

  • No, it's not a microwave, it's a fume hood. It just keeps dangerous gasses in during reactions.

The boiling and melting comes from the reaction itself. It releases a lot of heat, there's no need to heat it up any further.

  • where did you get the sulfuric acid?

  • probably a chemical supply center. Not something you can get at lowes... We use 97% in the lab.

  • K&b toys.

  • what? you cant get sulfuric acid at a toy store. plus i dont even have a K&B toys

  • motherfucker

  • wow...

  • all that sugar, wasted! lol either eat it or put it in heated potassium chlorate

  • or burn it in pottasium nitrate

  • OMDZ it grew!

  • ich glaube die schwefelsäure zersetz fast alles bis alles außer dem kohlenstoff-

    desshalb wird der zuscker schwarz....

    ist das richtig?

  • I'm guessing German candy is more of a threat than a treat...

  • LMAO!

  • MMMMMMMMMMMMMM FART FLAVORED SUGAR now in black color

  • vulcano

  • omg the sugar turned in to chocolate and exploaded :O

  • no

the acid dehydrated it into to carbon and water

    and it smells really nasty

  • no god made evil in the suger than god made it go boom

  • MMMMMMMMMMMMMM FART FLAVORED SUGAR now in black color

  • oh, so methane? Got it...

  • so, it made carbon and water... what happened to the sulfur?

  • became a gas. aka fart.

  • And when it is good and ready....

Put the darkened sugar cubes in a BlendTec Blender!!!

  • Now i would have a coke

  • and water

  • haha thats awesome, wonder what i can do with a quart of it in a plastic container I found at my local K-Mart ^^'

  • hella sick! gorgeous

  • imagin what that would do to your skin...

  • Alchemists accidentally made sulfuric acid thousands of years ago. I feel sorry for the poor bastard who first found out that it eats through stuff.

  • thank him he gave a hand for science lol.

  • My sixth grade science teacher did this in class. =D

  • thats sick

  • yeah, u need a license to get more than a little bit.

  • wow

  • yepp

there was a sulfuric acid spill today in a town near me and im surprised we didnt have to evacuate!! =/

  • H2SO4 isn't like a virus, all that probably happened is some concrete got eroded in the process

  • That is so cool. :]

  • got money!? I work at a Phosphate plant, I work with sulfuric all the time. We got millions upon millions of gallons of it. 96% too. It'll light your ass up! Lol j/k I'm not gonna do anything illegal

  • coooolllll!!!! i will try that at home!!

  • good luck finding a source without a liscense....

  • You don't need a liscense...

You can get it at the grocery store... it's called drain opener :-p

  • shh... no one will ever figure it out..

  • You don't buy sulfuric acid at the grocery store. Only Homer Simpson can do stuff like that. What you are talking about is stuff liek Drain-O, which is a base, not an acid...

  • Was that all happening in real time?

  • an accident with sulfuric acid while working with my stepfather in central NJ. made a hole about 2 inches i diameter. didnt corrode completely though my hand, but left a hell of a mark. dont screw with sulfuric acid. im recovered and i can still type pretty good thank god.

  • If someone says it looks like crap, they are full of crap

  • looks scary, liek a horri movie, the virus eating human..>_>

  • why does it react that way

  • i wonder if it takes that long to burn my hand off? :?

  • would probably take several hours....

  • you're joking right?

  • mehh...no

  • several hours my ass, sulfuric acid would corrode your skin into your flesh in a matter of seconds, especially since it reacts with water - and 75% (not exact) of our bodies are water

  • Well fuck my high school science teacher then! He said flesh is to complex to be dissolved in a few seconds let alone even a few minutes.

  • depends on the concentration

  • depends on the molarity of the sulfuric acid solution

  • Its like a really slow explosion !

  • coffee?

  • Is the remaining carbon electrical conductive

    like graphite ?

If yes, this would be a cheap way to produce

    conductive graphite !

    Many thanks.

  • it sucks out water or hydrogen ( i dont know) so carbon remains (black)

  • Holy crap...

  • at 1:13 or 1:12 it falash a message and it looks like shit

  • oh look u made poop, congrats, lol jks

  • does it work with Hydrochloric acid instead of sulphuric acid? if not, then why?

  • no, because sulphuric acid is strongest and it dehydration sugar

  • i used battery acid :)

  • battery acid contains sulfuric acid

  • You're absolutely wrong.

Hydrochloric acid is a STRONGER acid than sulfuric acid. Hydrochloric acid has a lower pKa than sulfuric acid, and hence it is stronger.

The reaction takes place because sulfuric acid is a water-absorbant acid.

  • If you really want a badass acid you should get hold of some 70% HF - that stuff is really really deadly though, nasty nasty stuff. Infact - don't even try!

  • it looks like shit! ;D

  • Your shit is jet black?

What the Hell do you EAT?

  • looks tasty

  • Hahaha my chem teacher did this in class and the whole class started smelling like prunes. It would've smelled a lot worse if she didn't activate the air vent.

  • haha! that was so cool! is it dangerous? i have sulfuric acid at home (i took it from a chemistry lab ^_^), and i wanna try this. any precautions?

  • Yes. Don't do it. Sulfuric acid + sugar = poison. Try it on a smaller scale and take 1 small sniff. It's awful.

  • nah, i already did it, before reading your comment and nothing happened. maybe it was a solution of sulfuric acid and not pure. (???)

  • your very brave for not wearing gloves. hope you were at least wearing googles.

  • Black marshmellows! :D

  • that was cool! i have sulfuric acid for a science project and that was amazing! i love sulfuric acid! lol

  • that was cool! i have sulfuric acid for a science project and that was amazing! i love sulfuric acid! lol

  • our science teacher showed it 2 us

  • i showed this to my science teacher :p

  • jesus christ, its alive!!!!

  • rotflmao!!!!!!

  • so this really does work? i saw macgyver do this on one of the episodes( i think it was the very first) with chocolate to seal up a ruptured acid tank. lol

  • its acid isnt it. can it atcually fry a hole throu your hands though?

  • no, not really...it will burn you quite good. If you held your hand in a tank of it for a while, it most likely would dissolve it, though. I don't make a habit of pouring acids on my hands. xD

  • Can it melt metal?

  • some metals...it doesn't actually melt it though, it just reacts with it and creates the sulfate of that metal. (i.e., Al+H2SO4-->H2+AlSO4) Simple chemistry. xD

  • Sorry, didn't take chemistry in school. So it doesn't actually melt metal... but what kind of reaction would they make? Would metal dissolve and leave a residue? Say... silver... Thanks a lot!!!

  • No, it will always leave the sulfate of the metal that it reacted with, along with Hydrogen gas.

  • Not necessarily, sulfuric acid is only a moderate oxidizing agent, meaning only strong reducing metals such as aluminium, lead, tin, iron, the group I and II metals would undergo such a reaction. Weak reducing agents like gold, silver and copper would not (unless if electricity is run through the sulfuric acid solution).

  • oh...thanks. lol I didn't take chemistry in school either.

  • Alguien sabe donde o como puedo bajar este video?

  • Does anybody know where or how I can download this video?

  • if you download the new realplayer there's a feature that lets you download videos off the net

  • Thanks ;)

  • hell, i was expecting an explosion! why'd he put the safety glass in front of it? oooh black sugar! wtf?

  • Because its concentrated acid, you wont want to get your eyes burn from the fumes

  • Mmm, love to put THAT in my tea!

  • MR COLEMAN THE CHICKEN

  • Mr Coleman, If your watching this video again you must be really bored or forgot to plan the lesson :P Guess who this is...

  • hell... what a waste of sugar

  • its sulfuric acid and sugar... it turns to carbon

  • well the sugar technically doesn't turn into carbon, it's divided into carbon and the water chemicals are evaporated

  • lmao thats awsome

  • where do you get this stuff?????? please respond

  • its the birth of the Blob!!!!!

  • grooooooooooooooooss

    I LOVE IT xD

  • lol gross!!!

  • darn i was waiting 4 a little baby monster....or fire, fire woulda been nice too

  • that was a waste of fucking time

  • NEW buy it now its the candy with the name sucalate ! ( sugar, caramel and chocolate ) 3 tastes in 1 !!!

  • whoah

  • I've got some sulfuric acid at home. . . can't wait to try this.

  • Nothing much will happen unless it's highly concentrated.

  • THE BLOB!!

  • where can i get sulfuric acid??

  • whur u get sulfuric acid?

  • lol cool

  • Can someone explain the chemical process to me? Why's the sugar cube blowin up?
