  • I know tortoisesdon't move that fast anyways but that one is realllly slow.

  • it is a very beautyfoul turtle... big end solar... good animal is ideal for cildren... my englesh is not perfect... :-)

  • Cute turtle!

  • lmao started laughing when the turtle came out with the music , started thinkin he was like "sup b1tches im here"

  • The thing is the 3 year old Sulcata is my oldest one.

I also have another Sulcata that is around 2 years old and all it eats is lettuce and cucumber.

I'm pretty worried as it seems to be pyramiding just a little bit. Not as much as the 3 year old sulcatas.

please let me know what is the proper food im supposed to feed it. i recently bought 5 more baby sulcatas that are around 6-8 months old. I want to raise these sulcatats to be as healthy as wild sulcatats. any advices?

  • I don't see any bad pyramiding here at all, perfect shells are REALLY rare, even in the wild. Sometimes it can also be genetic, I have two south european tortoise (not from the same breed, but same age) for example, living together, eating the same, same sun, one has a normal shell the other shows slight pyramiding. The vet too says that it's sometimes harder on one tortoise to prevent it than on others.

  • People who talk big about pyramiding needs to post vids and pictures of their perfect shelled sulcatas.

  • your feeding him wrong his shell is looking like the great pyramids of geza. READ UP ON SULCATA SHELL PYRAMIDING!

  • read up on the annoyance of capslock.

  • @ralphbaker305 The shell looks fine, mine looks the same and the herp vet told me that he is perfectly healthy, he goes every year

  • @ralphbaker305 New studies have been done proving that pyramiding is not the result of an improper diet, rather it is the result of not having enough humidity. As this is a recent discovery, it makes sense that many of these tortoises have pyramiding, especially in captivity, as many pet owners are led to believe that feeding them the right foods will prevent it. It seems like more sulcatas in captivity have pyramided shells as opposed to smooth perfect shells.

  • beware this is a war machine.. real tank

  • thas a cool tortoise

  • lots of pyramiding going on with your tortoise, learn to care for you pets man!

  • @pbdude725

Dude, that pyramiding isn't even that bad. It can be hard to prevent ANY pyramiding in captivity and even many in the wild have worst shells than this. Also pet owners were misled to believe pyramiding is a result of poor diet and not informed about the importance of humidity, as the information has only recently been discovered. Leave this guy alone, this tortoises pyramiding is nothing compared to tortoises that are ACTUALLY neglected. Go look up pictures and see for yourself.

  • @crystalxsunshine

hey crystalxsunshine. i have a Sulcata Tortoise that is 3 years old. Sorry, but i have mistaken pyramiding for growth. This Sulcata doesn't seem interested in anything else besides dog food....... i have mistakenly fed this Sulcata an over excess amoung of Dog Food over the past 6 months (after the pet store owner advised me to do so) and it showed clear signs of pyramiding.

I have stopped it from eating dog food period. NOW what should i feed it>

    sorry sulcata lovers :(

  • @deerodchan

Oh dear. Maybe try feeding it tortoise mazuri food (moistened so its soft) and mix it with some chopped grasses, weeds and leafy greens? They have to have a varied diet, lots of grasses are important. After a while maybe it'll get accustomed to eating just the grasses and leafy foods..

  • @deerodchan never should you have fed it dog food.... its called dog food for a reason....because its for dogs. all you had to do was look it up on google. having one of these as pets is a huge responsibility. you should have done your research before getting one. you could google it and get 5 great links from the very top easily on how to take care of one properly.

  • yo whats the song for this vid?

  • ahahahahahahah

  • no it is not a therapy session. If it were however you would definitely be in the appropriate place. I am Mexican do I disgust you? If I do then you are just being an ignorant hick fuck who doesn't know shit about tolerance. If I was black I would be prejudice against you. not every white person(because that is just as dumb as what you are doing) Just you.........

  • i don't like rap music either, but you sir are an ignorant fuck who needs a reality check. Racists disgust me......

  • dang that is one ghetto turtle all he needs is speakers on his shell

  • riiiiiiiiiiiiight haha,

  • you need to be cautious of what your feeding him, he's showing beginning signs of Pyramiding and you really don't want that, it's hard to get rid of it

  • Actually, the shell looks pretty normal for a captive-raised sulcata. I'm sure you know what real pyramiding looks like and this is not it.

  • look at the front of it, its alot bigger and more upward than the back, you can't tell until he passes the black thing

  • Unless they're raised under 100% sunlight their whole life, they're going to have some degree of pyramiding on their back. This is not an unhealthy shell. Feel free to post a video of your sulcata with a perfectly round shell and then you can argue your point.

  • guess you have me on that one

  • But you are correct about diet leading to a bad looking shell. Unfortunately with these guys, they get so big so fast that diet, humidity, and UV light play really important roles in their growth and if one is just slightly off, you'll get a touch of pyramiding. I hope mine looks as good as this one later in life. BTW, i love your name ;)

  • lol, thank you! i wanted a Russian tortoise so bad! but then my mother did research for the first time in her life and she said no, so i have no tort and it makes me sad =(

  • Did she find out that they get big or live a long time? Why aren't you allowed to get one?

  • i don't know but Russians are a dwarf species so size wouldn't be an issue

  • oh my gosh ive never seen my sulcatas move that SLOW (even tho they ARE torts) was he just in a new environment and kinda scared to explore?

  • thats one pimp turtle! (LOL!)

  • ....all about torts!
