  • I saw this on Broadway just because I wanted to see this puppetry in action. Not a huge fan of the play - it's too long, a bit overacted and WAY too depressing (I cried my eyes out the entire time), but the puppetry is absolutely amazing.

  • I went on a guided tour of the National Theater when I was in London and I saw the Original Joey Puppet backstage! It's so cool how they control it!

  • i need one of those house puppets for halloween.....that would be DOPE

  • UNBELIEVEABLE these puppets!!!Is there an OSCAR for such artwork???

  • @LambertsLabelle: Kohler and Jones were given a Special Tony Award for their work on the puppets of War Horse. The production also won Best Play, Best Direction of a Play, Best Scenic Design, Best Lighting Design, and Best Sound Design.

  • I just saw the movie. Brilliant. The war scenes were very real. If you go, bring your tissues!

  • @jferrante42 i plan to i watched the play last year in nearly made me cry is the movie more emotional

  • Loved the film and would just love to see this meaningful, inspiring stage production. Just can't believe 10 million horses perished & the cruelty they endured on the frontlines and yes..they had no choice. It's not enough man is so inhumane to his own kind, in war and life so he is to the innocent animals of this earth. The Handspring Puppet Theater from S. Africa just makes Joey & Topthorne transcendent and come to life. Utterly magnificent.

  • @arweiss100 I went and saw the movie as well, almost cried my eyes out. I wish I could see the puppets, they look amazingly real. You can see how much work has gone into building them, and it has payed off.

  • It was the gassing that was hidious. And the terrible artillery barrages.

  • WWI is such a culmination of stupidity.

  • I read this book so many times! OMG! Can't wait to go see it in theater clubb! (i forget where) and then its coming out in theaters too!

  • amazing puppets, really spectacular. I dont get the "They had no choice", it seems to me as though most people in most wars dont have much of a choice...

This play looks like quite an emotional experience, would be nice to see it

  • @aiexfrankerson The men and other humans in the war had the choice to go left and right. Some people WANTED to go to war. The horses had no choice. They couldn't decide if they should go left or right to avoid gunfire, they were forced into line of fire, next to bombs and other horrifying stuff. Humans can avoid that. Animals can't.

  • @aiexfrankerson The saying "They had no choice" bascially means that the horses couldn't say no, they don't want to be used in the war. As all animals, they cant tell us their feelings and that.

  • @TraceurHarryG1 Thank you.

  • A Tribute to the 8 million Equine Souls. God bless them one and all. The Centennial of that ghastly war is fast approaching, come 2014.

  • @MegaOlympians .....well said

  • or the other version of only remembered at 4:00

  • does anyone know where i can get that version of only remembered 1:55

  • Wow, that 'They had no choice' brought a tear to my eyes! Poor horses! Can't wait to see show!

  • Amazing..I everyone would see this and respect all horses for all they have done for us.
