That's probably the dummy upper stage. It was just an empty tube loaded with steel to simulate the mass of a real upper stage and Constellation spacecraft. The camera you're waching was on the booster. Since both the booster and the upper stage were in essentially the same ballistic trajectory after separation, they didn't get very far apart.
