You are almost completely wrong. You breath with your mouth, and when you do, don't release slowly. Your air should expand your stomach, as you said, but release quickly.
Ok someone please help me!! Is this the same thing as a baritone? I see videos about an Ephonuim and its a baritone now a baritone horn? A instrument can have only 1 name!!!!
@AnimalsOnLand Like i say on other videos. An euphonium is a larger instrument then the baritone. Also on the euphonium the bell is larger and is longer. Also an euphonium usually always has a fourth valve. but i have seen some without a fourth valve before. And To answer your question a baritone horn yes, Is the same thing as a baritone.
@AnimalsOnLand Danny A Euphonium is straight belled and a baritone hase a curved bell. Euphoniums are also the classical version and a baritone is the marching version, hench the corved bell. And euphoniums tend to cost more then baritones. Euphoniums play into the left side which means thaat the lead pipe wraps around to the left, whereas a baritones lead pipe wraps around to the right. Euphoniums have 4 valves either all on top or 3 on top and 1 on the right side, baritones only have 3.
Before you start playing you need a warming up, then it indeed is good to start with a breathing excercise.
So what you do is shut 1 nostril and inhale 8 seconds, then breathe out for 8 seconds (while using other nostril). And really fill until you can't have anymore, and the same thing when breathing out, keep going on until you're completely empty.
But when playing, in the name of god don't ever breathe through your nose!
@31BlackBoy I absolutely agree. My warm up is a little different though. I start out on the mouthpiece, After making siren sounds on my mouthpiece for about half a minute, I do some very loud low notes. You should never play high notes right as you pick up your instrument, i say this because when you just pick up your instrument, when you play high notes your using your lips and not your air. I was taught by someone very very talented at trumpet. And btw if you were wondering, i play euphonium!
@mochojoe thats actually a baritone. a euphonium is usually 4 valve (compensating 4th on side) and large bore, wider bell and conical. which means the piping gets larger from the lead pipe, which makes the sound darker and resonate more. this is a typical baritone. 3 valve, small bore, smaller bell, and is cylindrical like a trombone. which means, the piping stays relatively the same thoughout the baritone until it gets close to the the bell then flares.
@marktremontirules1 The bell flare on this instrument clearly indicates conical bore. Hence, euphonium. The number of valves is not a determining factor. Baritones and euphoniums can have 3 or more valves.
Hmm. Im taking a baritone one lesson from a professor right now and ur kindof doing what hes telling me not to do... dont raise your shoulders breath through your mouth and stay relaxed on the high notes. I used to play like you but now i stay relaxed and have exellent tone... u really should try it. Just keep your shoulders down and use more air to hit higher notes. Oh and play very loud while doing it f+
You say to breathe through your diaphragm, and yet you breathe from your chest. Genius, just genius. Another thing. Why do you use vibrato on everything? Why don't you tell people how to use vibrato instead of making beginners wonder what that cool noise is?
Is this a joke? Breathe through the nose? ROFL

Besides, you couldn't breathe if you didn't take a small breath.
coolboy1759 2 years ago
Your supposed to take a VERY small breath if your playing. Sure you do need to do that, but that's what your supposed to do.
