Any solvent will dissolve a foam cup, but the point is this product doesn't mix with water, but passed through it to the bottom of the cup, then melted it's way through.
@JPBill2 wtf would you be cleaning a primer for in the first place then you would say it came of the gun blabla bla then i say WIPE THE DAMN THING FIRST there is no reason for it to ruin your primer unless your a tard and spray your PRIMER and let it sit and sit and sit and ok im done
Never used Strikehold. Use Gunzilla on my AR15 and love it. Brother sold me on Gunzilla and now he likes the Strikehold. So maybe I need to try this next. Ii's a bit cheaper also from what I've been told. But Gunzilla is hard to beat. Best I've ever used and the only thing I use. No other oils or lube\cleaner needed.
"not a hope in hell ill put that stuff on my gun........"
Again, why not? Your gun is probably not made of styrofoam. The fact that this cleaner contains a solvent that dissolves polystyrene doesn't mean that it would do any damage to metal. It doesn't automatically mean that it cleans metal well, either, though. :D
Actually, this stuff is pretty awesome. It seems to penetrate the metal and puts a layer down that is pretty awesome. I use it on guns, knives, outside gear etc... Works better than anything else I have used. Experience talks, so if you don't have any, at least spend a few bucks and try it. I did.
I bet this stuff does the same thing to metal LOL. Just clean your gun and watch it dissolve right before your very eyes its that simple!!!!. No more gun no more problems with rust and corrosion!!! (WARNING: will dissolve skin to the bone and then dissolve the bone, will also dissolve anything it comes into contact with including the can it comes in)
had some of that at basic training when we cleaned M16's. Worked ok I guess but no better than the standard CLP we also had. I would not get that stuff anywhere near the plastic or rubber components of your firearms. It'll likely turn it to gum in no time flat.
Wow that shit well clean away all that nasty rifling in your bore! It turns your rifle bore into a nice smooth shotgun bore amazing stuff! You can also use it to clean the shit out of your septic! Have an old junk car setting around? pore some of this shit on it and the car is gone! less clutter in your yard I say!
@mc101305 Most gun cleaners will eat foam. He was demonstrating how the Strike-Hold sinks through the water and ate the foam from underneath, rather than just sitting on top of the "dirty stuff."

Never use a penatrant as a lubricant or cleaner. It can migrate into and ruin your primers.

It's actually really, really good stuff. Used it for years. Does the cleaning and lubing in one job. Good for fast cleaning or field cleaning.
