  • this is just a gag ffs they are actors not real ministers...all tho it true we have boofheads in canberra and gooses who think they run this country.

  • Congrats on the mega fail maiomai91 ! Well done

  • The Lord JESUS is coming soon everything is happening just as Christ fortold. Christ told us that satan would hi jack the christian church and install the anti christ in it a false religious man who will decieve the whole world and who will make a new world order in the last days. The pope is that man that anti christ he killed the saints changed the sabbath day called himself JESUS'S EQUAL and sits in Rome and rules over the illuminati satanic families which he started through the JESUITS

  • Wow... Not Australian, not a politician and not serious answers..... how wrong can one person be while pointing the finger

  • This bloke would make a hell of a PM than the current one that's for sure :)

  • They use the skin from the dead whales to make shin guards and crotch protectors that are used in the sport of Farnarkling...nothing is wasted..

  • Fred Dagg will always be a true blue kiwi!

  • John Clarke is from New Zealand...

  • Must be an American who posted it, doesn't understand satire.

  • John Clarke is a kiwi, look up Fred Dagg.

  • @cocochanel201 no way! don't you know the rule if they live here and are good we get to claim them but the minute they stuff up they're a Kiwi again.

  • @cocochanel201

I think you will find that John Clarke Is now a naturalised Australian.

I remember when he left, but hoped he'd be back soon.

    It didn't happen.

He has spent most of his adult life in Aussie now and has a far wider audience than he ever did in NZ.

Fred Dagg is still a Kiwi though.

I see him reflected in many people around me all the time.

  • i'm not a botanist!

  • I see yeah Australian stire :) But it most likley did kill the whale >.<

  • What would be comical is if the uploader was trolling everyone.

  • @exedai hes american, i highly doubt hes smart enough to troll this well.

  • I love how hard it is to determine our humour... Like I noticed the guy who uploaded didn't notice the joke, but our humour sort of makes itself impossible to notice to people who weren't raised here, or have been here for a while.

  • maiomai91 are you a noong?

desperate to have a laugh at Aussies?

  • You're missing the bit that should be "Disclaimer: this is satire". Probably a good idea to do research before posting things up

  • I love the title, obviously have never watched one of Clarke and Dawe's comedy sketches before. This one is a classic.

  • Yeah, Clarke and Dawe are comedians - they've been doing this for about 20 years. "The Front Fell Off" is probably their funniest :)

  • FYI Clarke and Dawe are a comedic duo.

  • Note to people who are not learned in any scientific discipline. Animals die of old age too.

  • Haha this is satire you moron

  • oh the irony..... another upload from a misinformed american

  • its a joke and one is from new zealand

  • ummm why cant you people understand that they are comedians... or irony for that matter...

  • I can't help loving the transcribe feature...

"Afraid I don't know the answer, I'm not a botanist" comes out as "predator videos from the balkans"

The sound quality of this clip is among the worst crap I heard so you can't really expect any golden results.

  • LOL yet Australians have the hide to compain about the Japanese actually using whale flesh,

  • @Flinklehurst There is a huge difference between killing whales continuously and one accidental death. You are a major fuckwit. Go fuck your sister.

  • @Flinklehurst

    Comedy sketch->

And it was a US company doing the testing anyways...

  • @Flinklehurst

    haha @ you

  • hahaha green tie ....... nice touch !

  • God I hope this is a joke. I am from Texas, so I can't tell if that's an actual member of the Australian government. I am hoping this is a sketch comedy.

  • Comment removed

  • @SubliminalSin No he wasn't... This is John Clarke. The whole thing is a sketch.

  • Comment removed

  • @SubliminalSin

hahahaha, you don't watch ABC, do you?

  • Comment removed

  • @SubliminalSin

    right.

  • @AnarchDuke : Yes, it is a joke. Clarke and Dawes are comic political commentators

  • @AnarchDuke ummmm. look right---->

  • I really doubt that the poster thought this was real...

  • @gohawkz None of it was real

  • love it that the person who posted it thought it was a real interview - obviously doesn't understand Australian satire.

  • The funniest thing about this video is that the Seppo who posted it thought it was real.

  • It is fake its satire

  • You're not gonna die of old age unless you getting on a bit are ya?

Have a look in the dictionary ...priceless!

  • hahaha got to be fake

  • @piglover2008 The news is real. The interview is fake. It's humor.

  • Wow, someone tried real hard to make us look stupid. Instead, they made us look intelligent and hilarious.

  • It is Australian/New Zealand comedian John Clark aka Fred Dagg

  • "there's a fair bit of water between them" lmao

  • I get this type of comedy a lot easier than traditional British dry humor. I love it.

  • Great stuff.

  • who is this guy?!?!?! :D

  • Fred Dagg?

  • Does everyone realize this is a comedy sketch and not a real interview?

  • THIS IS SO CONFUSING IT HAS NO LAFHING TRACKS HOW DO I KNOW WHEN ITS FUNY????

  • genius, genius, genius!!! This needs to be on U.S prime time!

  • clark and dawe my friends.

  • Love it!

  • Laughing tracks? Why? So you know when to laugh? the whole fucking thing is funny!

  • But we're not familiar with your comedy, so if this is fake, please insert laughing tracks..

  • @twonulator that's what's called "dumbing down" and it has no place in intelligent satire like this. The reason you don't know when to laugh is because you've been hand fed with laugh tracks and your sense of humour is underdeveloped, and thus you can't recognise humour if there are no cues telling you when to laugh. A shame.

Also, satire is not some uniquely Australian humour. It stretches back to ancient Greek dramas.

  • @twonulator surely you have satire in the US? (Stephen Colbert is a political satirist... just to help you out)

  • @twonulator hahahahaha

  • @twonulator And stop acting like you know better just because you're American. You think America is the only country with politicians? Don't be so patronising. This attitude of yours is - among other things - why most of the world can't stand Americans.

  • @ecclesiasticous You took my comments the wrong way. I was stating that us Americans have many tools like this in our offices, creating a very evil government, and making humor like this all too real for us. We hear many men in interviews speaking the same way as this comedian, but unfortunately it is far from comedy. Please get off of your high horse-- this is the internet, sir.

  • @ecclesiasticous and thats why americans cant stand you because you say things like this about us . sit back as an american and constantly have to listen to bashing from other countries

  • @twonulator *whoooooosh*

I believe that was the sound of something going over your head, sir.

  • Stupid fucking American cunt

  • Are you people dumb?

It's two well known comedians having a go.

    Real...jeez.

  • this is EPIC circular double-speak, Fox news needs to higher this guy

  • its not a real minister its Clarke and Dawe they are satirists brilliant indeed

  • 1:05 is the start of the interview

  • stupid abo coons!

  • It's not a botched interview, whoever posted this, it's a guy who does comedy videos acting as an idiotic minister. Made for entertainment. Search Clarke and Dawe.

  • this cant be real... it just..... no.. no ... i refuse to believe this can be real.

  • @ryancrazy1 It isn't. It's a comedic sketch.

  • @walkabout09 Dont you just love seeing Kiwi's as Australia's National Icons.

  • Melissa? hahahhahahahaa

  • kerry is young here !!!!

  • hahahaha my goodness these guys are funny have you guys seen "the front fell off"?

  • These two are national treasures!

  • Wish we could get political satire this fun in the US -- sometimes Jon Stewart or Keith Olberman just can't cut the mustard compared to these guys! ! !

  • this is a satire, yo. the guys at the end are comedians.

  • lmao

  • "the mining company"

"i believe thats what they do"

  • the news anchor looks like nicolas cage

  • @mintydeluxe hahahahaha between this and the "American" people who think the end interview is real are the funniest things about this post! hehehehe

  • this is a comedy duo, jesus you people are so fucking stupid.

  • Since the whale was found dead BEFORE they tested, then the post hoc, ergo propter hoc argument does not hold up.

  • BRILLIANT! A round of applause!

  • Great comedy team

  • "It'd bugger up your result, wouldn't it?"

    "What was that?"

    "Nothing, just clearing my throat."

  • @Fishmorph Is this usually how fast the Owstralians speak? I'd have a tough time if I were visiting Australia. But this is, as someone said, political satire at its best.

  • that blue bit under the boat, the water.

  • Political satire at its best.

  • the fish to water ratio...classic

  • "No minister could possibly be THAT dumb"

HAHAHAhahahahahahaha! that's even funnier than the sketch in the video!

    hahahahaha!

  • informed - they are Australian comedians

  • Not as good as The Front Fell Off

  • Is it just me, or is this the exact same guy who did 'The Front Fell Off'?

  • @qwackfartz Yes it is the same Australian comedy team John Clarke and Brian Dawe . They are absolutely hilarious.

  • @tbcass John Clark is a kiwi and you know it! ; )

  • @wargasmnz but since he's good at what he does Australia automatically claims him don't you remember the rule

  • @qwackfartz Correct :) That's my fav sketch by them lol.

  • maiomai91 - maybe someone has already corrected your misinformation on the supposed misinformed minister - but just in case they haven't - this is a comedy sketch. Both men are comedians giving their take on politicians.

You need to correct your blurb.

  • "Your not going die of old age unless your getting on a bit, are you. Have a look at the dictionary"

  • you + are = you're.

  • "Sorry, i cant answer that, im not a botanist..."

  • "No minister could possibly be THAT dumb."

Sure they can, it may have taken 3 years for it to happen, but it did; just take a look at Stephen Conroy!

  • this is a skit

  • I do realise that.

  • this is fab, i love it.

  • love these guys... they make everything seem like a HUGE joke!!! which is good due to the current economical situation!!

  • "afraid I don't know the answer, I'm not a botanist"

    I loled

  • "seismic testing is an enviromentaly friendly and way sensitive way of firing an enormous sonic impulse into the ocean floor in order...."

    Absolutely hilarious

  • Nope . . . nothing in the way.

  • This comedy skit is hilarious! They ahve been doing this for years now!

  • This is hysterical.

  • Its from the ABC's 7:30 report, someones just stuck a channel TEN opening theme infront.

    Its purely statirical.

  • "I'm not a botanist"

    Brilliant!

  • That had me laughing so hard I was blue in the face.

  • lol John Clarke is awesome

  • Hehe. The whale died of old age.

  • reminds me off front fell off lol

  • You mean the tanker? The one where the front fell off? Those are built to rigid maritime engeineering standards.

  • Yeah, I've seen that guy years and years ago, he's been taking the mick for way over 20 years. Great that Aus actually puts this on prime time. Its a bit like Norman Gunson and I remember Sir Les Patterson... lol.. classic.

  • im not a botanist! lol fuking genius

  • THIS IS A SPOOF

    ok?

it is always on the 7:30 report

  • This doesn't seem real.

  • its not, they are a comedy act that is always on the abc news, they are so good

  • does every one realise that this is a spoof? Some people seem to be taking this too seriously.

  • Question: "How do you know if an Aussie is putting you on?"

    Answer: "The mouth is moving."

  • Well, apparently a top 200 interviews DVD is planned to be released this year. Hurray.

  • Shal it be released under the uises of Vordon Zyleth?

  • do they still do these sketches? i love them.

  • do people actually think these John Clarke videos are anything other than sketches?

  • Apparently.

  • What?

  • I agree, there are far too many cows in the world. Perhaps the only humane thing we can do is eat them all. Trust me, I'm trying to do my bit, it isn't easy!

  • um are u dumb? whales are over populated? go read a book please. and this is a spoof. god ur dumb

  • LOL either way man atleast u agree with me he says BUGGER,lmfao

  • what he said.QUOTE "that buggerd up ur result didn't it" END QUOTE "WHAT" QUOTE "NOTHING JUST CLKEARING MY THROAT" END QUOTE

  • I think it was "bugger up your result wouldn't it".

  • If you enjoy these guys, check out Flight of the Conchords. Hilarious.

  • hahaha funny bit!

  • "'fraid I don't know the answer I'm not a botanist!" lol that's grat! :)

  • If you're Austrailian, is someone from NZ the butt of your jokes - like Newfoundlanders are to Canadians, like people from Michigan are to those from Ohio or like Swedes are to Norwegians? I suppose regional pride and rivalries are a bit of a universal thing. Being from the U.S. I was never aware of this contempt for New Zealand- if it is genuine. Back when I was a kid in the '70's, it was the Pollack, I'm sorry, the man of Polish descent, who was the universal dim-wit butt of all jokes.

  • I'm from Colorado and thought this guy was for real at first. Even though I thought he was for real, I was rolling with laugher because he was hilarious - in a very low-key sort of way. The illusion was shattered for me when I looked him up on Wiki and found out he's a satirist . . . and a very good one at that. To think I've been missing out all these years.

  • No it's because you're a fucking idiot.

  • I am not a botanist,

what sorry just clearing my throat

  • John Clarke is hilarious. Best satirist on Australian tv. He's so good we'll even forgive him the fact that he was born in NZ ;)

  • lol

well he did decide to move to australia

  • "im not a botanist" LOL

  • i love people who take this seriously, nearly as funny as the comedians doing the satire.

  • What are you lot on about! no one on this whole comments page has said about this being a serious interview. Everyone gets it.

  • Wouldn't want a whale to die of old age during a seismic test... *mumble* bugger up your results wouldn't it..*mumble*

  • I'm not a botanist LOL

  • Lame. Shouda done a lot better...

  • Really? I thought it was funny.

  • This is the 5th Clarke and Dawe video I've just watched- these guys are cracking me up. What's even funnier is all the comments of people who have no idea this is comedy.

  • People thinking it real adds a hell of a lot to the comedy doesn't it?
