  • I think this is vizplex. See 0:15. The screen takes the same time to refresh than Cybook.

¿What do yoy think about Sipix technology?

It seems to have better looking, but has the same refreshing delay...

  • It's a good product! I do notice that when it's changing pages, the unit doesn't accept further commands until the page is displayed.

The beep is funny! It probably takes more battery power to beep once than to turn the page a hundred times! Glad to hear it's possible to turn it off.

There is still nothing to compare with my old Palm Pilots, from the III to the V. Touch screen changing of pages kicks ass! I'll jump into this e-ink with both feet when a touch-membrane is added. Buttons are lame.

  • I agree on touch screen. No way to live without it

  • the beeping sound can be disabled from the options?

  • Yes, easily.

  • you can get faster results by loading a text file into the internal memory.

    Because it's:

    1-B&W,and uses no grey.

    2-1 font type,style and size.

    3-does not contain pictures

4-does not need to communicate to an external reader for page loading.

The slowest results you'll get from loading pdf color anime from an SD card.

The device will need to convert the pdf to screen format, and change the color to a rendered B&W on the fly, which on average takes 4 seconds.

  • In watching the video I could read enough of the words on the screen that it loos to me like 1984, I think that says a lot for the screen, given it was video'd and then compressed down to youtube.

  • Clicking and beeping would drive me crazy.

  • I think this is Vizplex, but maybe the software is not optimized. See my video on Ganaxa Ger2 Vizplex to compare. It is realtime.

  • It typically takes .6 seconds to update an eInk display. That's just a limitation of the technology. It's great for eBooks, but we won't be playing YouTube videos on them any time soon.

  • I think the slower page turning is the fault of the device. After you press a button there is a delay, but when the screen actually refreshes it does so at about the same speed as the screen in the video you linked to.

Would you consider making a review of the V3? I'm thinking about buying one and a video review would help me make up my mind.
