I believe The Big 3 Should Get a Bailout...only if they Allow Business CEO's to Run the Business the way they want and not allow the UNION to mess up everything. Also tax Products that are not American. Every Empire has fallen, and we are seeing this right now, We are falling and China Is rising. Honestly Small Business Who cares. Joe the Plumber can go Broke and he wont affect the Country if this companies Crash we might get into a Depression. 3 million JOBS and counting if they fall
the big three have not bin compeeting wiht honda or toyota for almost ten years. and they know it. I used to work for a parts comany that suplied for the big three. and all of them have almost less than one third of the pie.
well, well welcome to the 80s I quess times like now social gov. are what people want.Well blame it on the CEO., Managments,Not the Unions, what ever tools and what ever parts the Managment give us that's what we have to work with! we should cut there standards of living and see what they can come up with??
The federal reserve is a bank. Not the senate, not the congress that no longer prints currency. I do not want to cosign a loan to a bunch of bad businessmen that continue to produce a product that no one really wants to buy. This is the kind of stuff that keeps our congress from accomplishing anything. Go to the federal reserve yourselves. We don't want to be on the hook for any of your bad corparate management. The government is not a bank. Go get a loan from the bank like anyone else would.
This nation that supports the Japanese so heartily will wind up with no auto manufacturing companies in the US and will wind up sending the majority of our car money to other countries just like we send our oil money elsewhere. Don't give me that "these cars are made here" bullcorn. The majority of the money is going to another nation. We are going to deplete our nation of its wealth in the long run, and we are also going to incapacitate our industrial capabilities. GREAT JOB AMERICANS!!!
Looks like your Hot Dogs,Apple Pie and brand X have done a good job so far with all your support. So good that they are begging for a bailout. Not with my tax dollars! GM lost me in the 90's. And my investment has opened up more jobs with Toyota putting more and more factories IN the U.S., and given me quality vehicles to drive. What a concept!! How much of your dollars spent opened factories in Mexico?
If the Big 3 had been making quality; we wouldn't be having this conversation.
Actually I don't speak for GM, but I know Ford makes a great car and anyone who says less is just ignorant. You support the countries you love and I'll support the one I love. Your dollar winds up in the wrong country, homeboy, so now your sons and daughters can work for the Japanese. What a concept, and by the way, you're pissing in your own oatmeal. What you need to do is talk to you congressman and figure out how to put them and us on the same playing field.
I do love this country. I gave American automakers all my support for years and what I got in return was SUB-PAR products. If more Americans did what I did years ago, they would have had to give us quality to stay alive rather than sucker punch us with what we see now. It all trickles down to everyone connected to the automakers wanting more money, less output. It's a viscous cycle that had to stop somewhere. If you want to send a company a message, hit them in the pocket book.
No, no perception Ron. You take the truck apart and look at the differences in the bolts used. That's just one of MANY differences. Not perception, but fact. Do your research.
Are we going to make things in America any more? Sure we are... only they will be Toyotas, Hyundais, and Hondas. Unions are driving the US brands into the ground. Everyone would love to work in a industry that pays out like the UAW receives, but it isn't realistic, and the UAW needs to give a little.
During the 1970's, more than 40% of American jobs were union with workers' savings at a national average of 11%. Fast forward to 2005, unions accounted for 24% of the U.S. workforce and the average savings had fallen to 0% of earnings and thereby creating a debtor nation. These facts indicate that non-union workers benefit greatly from strong unions.
