Skip the red pepper, the pepper and the lemon. Use more curcumber. Cut the vegetables in even larger pieces. Do not cut the feta cheese, put it on top and then add the olive oil and the oregano. Only then you will have a greek salat, take it from a Greek.

thank you very much for this video. I like greek salad and wasn't sure how to make it. I like how you cut the onions and tomatoes, very simple and easy. Ignore the negative comments I think it is better with pepper added as you did. I also like romaine lettuce with it too.

In Greece we don't put pepper and lemon... we cut tomatoes with different way and also we use oregano and curcumber!!!!

Sorry, but when I go to the Greek Festivals, I always get a greek salad and this although it looks good, is nothing like they serve. They use lots of lettuce, a little red onion, kalamata olives, curcumber, and the dressing ( red wine, EVO, oregano ),is mixed and then poured over the salad, then the feta is sprinkled over the serving.

Greek salad my ass.I am from Greece and this is certainly not a greek salad.

-No pepper,lemon or red peppers are included - never ! -There is no specific way you have to mix or cut the ingredients.Just make sure they can fit in your mouth and you can take a mouthfull of many ingredients.

-I prefer feta on top of the salad and uncut.Chuncks of feta ruin the pleasure of picking your own piece.

-Use good oil and olives

-Just chop all ingredients and throw them in a bowl , then season them.

@vangel4e Macedonia is a part of Greece. Шопска салата is a Slavic dialect, similar to Bulgarian!

Of course, neighboring countries may have a similar salad. Recipes are similar with Turkey, Bulgaria and of course with Vardaska Banovina (the Slav residents of this former part of Yugolsavia insist to call it "Macedonia")!

I can understand them: Macedonia sounds better than Vardaska Banovina... But history can not change...

i've been living in Greece for 7 years, on an island south of Athens and there, they put pepper and lemon + red peppers. On another hand, there is no genuine receipe for such things, so there is no place for debate.

Hey.. Things can be done a little different. Vinigar or lemon. Whatever!. It would be a really boring world if everything tasted exactly the same at every restaurant. I've seen it done with lettuce. It didn't enjoy it as much but it was still nice. When I do it I throw in matches of yellow pepper. And sometimes a dicway.
