  • Lyrics in English: Per Spellman had only one cow (2x) He exchanged the cow and get a fela (the violin) again My good old violin, violin, my fela. Per Spellman, ha played the violin and she laughed (2x) So the boys were dancing and the girls were crying (2x) My good old violin, violin, my fela. Per Spellman, he played and the violin was good (2x) So boys were dancing and the girls were laughing (2x) My good old violin, violin, my fela.
  • And if I become as old as the stone under the bridge (2x)

Ney, I will never exhange the fela for cow (2x)

My good old violin, violin, my fela.

And if I become as old as the moss on the trees (2x)

Ney, I will never exhange the fela for cow (2x)

My good old violin, violin, my fela.

Sorry if there's a mistake.Feel free to correct it. Hilsen fra Ungarn!

Han bytte bort kua, fekk fela igjen,

han bytte bort kua, fekk fela igjen.

"Du gamle gode fiolin, du fiolin, du fela mi.

  • helt fantastisk

  • is this a traditional interpretation of norwegian folk music.

  • @WHWrooolz : Interpretation? This is just pure norwegian folk music the way it should be, no more, no less.

  • @sorgkvad @sorgkvad The reason I ask is because I am doing a report of scandinavian folk music, and I an looking for some authentic folksongs which aren't merely guessed interpretations of, but date back truthfully and authentically to viking age music from those regions.

  • @WHWrooolz I don't know of any music known today that go back that far. The Norwegian culture is mostly based on stuff that happened in late 1700s and early 1800s. After the plague hit in 1349, Norway was pretty much decimated. And went under rule of other nations. It wasn't until several hundred years later we had regained our strength enough to stand on our own. Norwegian culture is in many ways based on the need for Norway to feel independent and unique at that time.

  • @LunarPoet thank goodness that your beautiful country was able to revive its ancient culture, and create new traditions; and thanks to you for sharing them with us.

  • @sorgkvad where I can find this type of music? I would like to listen more norwegian folk music :)

  • more than awesome^^

  • Hei sorgkvad. Kunne du forteller hvem synger her?

Her klarte du å skrive 2 av 2 navn feil.

  • what ist awkward - nobody says everything must be perfect....

  • @nidaros1112 does this comment say: nynorsk isn't just a dialect, nynorsk and bokmal are official languages. a dialect is a regional/social variant of a language? i can, of course, google it, but i wanted to try to translate it just by myself. i don't understand the second sentence though.

  • @nidaros1112 Men i utlandet jeg kan studere bare bokmål :(

  • @SvartNezmar i think if you search and ask people that knows about it, such as norwegian teachers, i think it would be no problem to teach you nynorsk. Just try. Any language teacher in norwegian should be able to teach both, if they´re not very stupid. I know both nynorsk and bokmaal, and any person over the age of 17 in norway should be able to teach someone both

Hilsen fra her!
