Robby playing with a pick sounds to me like betraying. Just like Manzarek playing that orrendous digital keyboard instead of the vox continental or the gibson kalamazoo combo organs... In fact when robby plays with the D21C or Riders on the Storm he still plays most of the parts fingerpicking. I guess it's a sort of "philological correctness".
