Acting is undeniably great and very realistic, especially the actors of Molly, the mother and Mr. Neville.
But there are some loopholes to this scene.
1. Mr. Neville was by himself. So no one else was cornering the mother and her children's backs. They could have gotten away by turning into another direction and ran.
I wonder how the actor who played the cop taking the kids away felt afterwards shooting this scene. I know its only acting but given the reaction from the little girls and the women, he must have felt awful. :(

Two friends and I were in tears whilst viewing this scene during a screening of the film. Unfortunately this sort of "government sponsored activity" occurred in many places thoughout the Pacific/Polynesia region . In Aotearoa (New Zealand) it didn't extend to forced assimilation as seen in the film but the Maori did suffer a period of being denied the right to use their own birth language.

Actually there is no evidence that children were ever removed to "breed them out." What the so called historians use is a Queensland internal plan that was done by a civil servent in the late 1800s and has since then been blown out of proportion because it never happened. Two friends and I were in tears whilst viewing this scene during a screening of the film. Unfortunately this sort of "government sponsored activity" occurred in many places thoughout the Pacific/Polynesia region . 1) I never stated that there wasn't a CATEGORY for "race" on a child's birth certificate for the father.
2) The "race" of the father is important in ASSIGNING "race" to a child ONLY when the father is "black"
3)The office of Vital Statistics uses the birth certificate in "race" assignment.
4)Call any office of Vital Statistics in the U.S. and confirm what I've written, numerous times.

wow you are astounding Silverfencer you truely believe what you are saying!The movie "Australia" is just a romantasized version of Australia's history. A bi Barbara Cartland or boones romance novel. It does not show how life really was then. Esp for Aboriginal workers that worked on these stations. They did not recieve pay or the credit due them.I would like you to send me this proof as well. Mate, this never happened! This entire movie is nothing more than the directors interpretation of events which are to begin with are shady. Even the little girl in this movie who was an assosiate in its creations denied that it went like this.
There are no cases of children being removed from their homes in order to breed them out or because they were Aboriginal, this entire film is a Politically correct racist fantasy.

Do you know want to know why this govenment apologised? because interest rates spiked .25% that day and our dollar dropped against yours, plus a new union bill was being passed and the banks announced futher interest rate spikes. Ill tell you something else too, all those Aboriginies who were shakeding Kevy Rudds hands do not work, they are part of a organisations whoes income is reliant on govenment handouts and in fact most of them are more white than they are black but in this country even I who has an Aboriginie aunt going back 4 generations can apply for grants and succesfully get them. this week in wa a foster family was jailed for keeping a young boy strapped to a bed and starving him. The thing with doce they are on families back but not keeping tabs on the foster parents. How many times do u hear stories of foster parent abusing kids and noone knew and they are still getting kids. SO much for docs.

For a start i don't have any kids & if i did, it'd be only fair that they are taken out of my care if i were not looking after them properly. I know plenty of toddler Aboriginal children who were taken out of care of by a good friend of mine, who is also Aboriginal, because their real parents didnt provide them with adequate care. Clearly you are the fool for thinking that in this 21st century, children are taken from their parents WITHOUT good reason. Go and read the DoCS website.

Actually there is no evidence that children were ever removed to "breed them out." What the so called historians use is a Queensland internal plan that was done by a civil servent in the late 1800s and has since then been blown out of proportion because it never happened. Also in case you havn't noticed, Aboriginie children are still being removed from their families by Federal and State govenment wealfare services for exacly the same reasons cited 80 years ago.

Don't have to I'm from Brooklyn,NYC. Don't know what it is like now but I am talking about THEN furthermore,any person who is traumatized as they were will fall into a depression spiral including drugs/alcohol,u cease being normal because of post traumatic stress disorder which leads to some people being abusive towards their children generation after generation thus the cycle continues.Obviously,u can't relate but it happens alot & multiple generations are affected til NOW.
