  • Buck my dear friend, you know what music is! You've sung about every song that i like. J.R. Cash, Elvis Presley, John Denver, Willie Nelson, Hank Williams and many more. Here in the Netherlands nobody even knows all this good stuff. People of my age only know the name of Elvis Presley and might have heard of Johnny Cash. What's happened to 'em?! I truly wish that i was an American living about 50 years ago where i could listen to my hero Frankie Laine all day, without everyone disliking it!

  • @Werner170 Thanks so much appreciate it stay well.

  • As a big Johnny Cash fan I had the opportunity to play this with him at a truck stop in Tewksbury, Mass way back in 1974. Got to play 3 songs with him, he jumped up on the stage with my band. That is a time I will never forget.

  • @revgeorgemurray OMG YOU ARE SOO LUCKY! :D

  • Great pickin`Buck. Yup, I enjoyed the movie. It filled in the parts I didnt know before.

You got his beat down to a t. Well done Buck. Im diggin`into ur archives.

    John. Canada.

  • @JOHNDEEBANK Thanks John, actually they made up a lot of stuff and left some really great stuff out. Read his Biography and you will see what I mean.

  • But the two books I believe about him more than any others are I Walked The Line: My Life With Johnny by Vivian Cash, and I Was There When It Happened: My Life With Johnny Cash by Marshall Grant. They both are worth reading.

  • @CashPresley32 Thanks, if I get time I will check them out.

  • Ask me a lot about Johnny Cash, and I will be able to tell you, because I am Autistic, and his music via recordings were music therapy for me. Because of his music, a loving, kind and patient mother, and most of all God, I have become high functioning.

  • I have graduated mainstream on the AB honor roll from high school, and now have my money, bills, and checking and savings accounts in my name, and I pay my bills on time, and take care of my own appointments. I also have a chance for a major recording contract, because I contacted Marshall himself, but I do not tell a whole lot of people, because he is a very private person. I wanted thank him for helping me, and he said that he is glad that they were able to help in that way.

  • I also told him that they inspired me to want to create a new style of music which is a combination of Country, Rock N Roll, Blues, Jazz and Bluegrass, and have inspired me to be a singer also. He told me to copyright my songs, and sent him a demo. I have two videos here on youtube under "Kenny Dobbins 001" and "Kenny Dobbins 003" and I have a facebook account, and a group called "Kenny Dobbins Forever" which already has 179 in just a few months.

  • Thanks so very much. Me too!

  • If you have 5 dollars and Buck Norris has 5 dollars, Buck Norris has more money than you!

Also, Buck Norris once slamed a revolving door shut!

When Buck Norris goes for a swim, Buck Norris doesn't get wet, instead the water gets Buck Norris'd!

Plus, Buck Norris's heartbeat pulse is measured at 12.0 on the ricter scale!

  • I love the clear sound! Could I ask you get such a clear sound?

  • Thanks so much appreciate. The sound on the who video or the Tele sound? For the Tele, I play into a Line 6 PodXT Live and use the Fender Twin Reverb Amp on it and then the Pod is plugged into my sound board.

  • Thanks a bunch! I've been thinking about purchasing a Fender Deluxe Reverb amp. I thought it might give me more of that 'boom chicka boom' sound.

    Thanks alot Buck!

  • Sorry I missed this you right the Deluxe Reverb is a great amp that is usually the one I use on my POD XT

  • beautifu song

  • im glad you didnt try to do a johnny cash inpression

  • Que c'est bien de ré-entendre une si belle chanson de manière difféente.Bravo!

  • you sound nothing like johhny cash you have your own sound and i think its pretty good

  • Hey Buck,

This is right on man. Gotta love it. Too bad you are so far away from Canada.

  • Thanks so much appreciate it.

  • June Carter got credit for writing it, but actually Johnny Cash and Merle Kilgore wrote it. Read Vivian Liberto Cash Distin's book I Walked The Line, and you will find that out. It is not a bunch of lies in the book, because she adds love letters that Johnny wrote her in the air force, and she said that she loved him until the day she died. Also read the book by Marshall Grant that is called I Was There When It Happened.

  • I don't think I ever credited June Carter with this song. It was "Ring Of Fire" that June wrote.

  • Well, I will et the historians settle that. I really don't care.

  • Vivian was Johnny's first wife, so she should know.

  • Also I never heard of anyone who just wrote one song, because songwriters write more than just one song. The majority of the songs that June sang were written by AP Carter. I also do not need to ask historians, because Vivian and Marshall stayed true to Johnny Cash til the end, so that tells me what they wrote was true and acturate in both books. They were both a part of Johnny Cash's life. Vivian being his first wife, and Marshall being a long time bassist of his. So they knew about it.

  • May be true. I was struck by some of the things in Johnny's later biography. He describes things in there 10 times worse than anything that was mentioned in the Walk The Line Movie.

  • Walk The Line was not accurate.

  • That is what I was trying to say Johnny gave June the credit for writing the Ring Of Fire. Read I Walked The Line by Vivian Liberto Cash Distin, and you will find that actually Johnny Cash and Merle Kilgore wrote the Ring Of Fire and Johnny gave June the credit.

  • HY.Gottalove-this.Yo!

  • Great singin' and pickin' Buck! Love this song and you did an excellent job on it! ... FrAnK (5*****)

  • Thanks very much Frank.

  • gr8 job Buck!

  • Good job. this song is really weird the way I worked it out from the record, ready? F, to Bb, to D#, back to Bb, back to F. Again very good job.

  • I think that is the way he does it with some unusual modulation. I just keep in straight C. Call me lazy.

  • Ok, then I will, lazy! :) LOL

Yeah he does, it drives the people at a bluegrass jam I go to crazy! Especially the bas player[s]

  • LOL, I bet it does. The only modulation is do is the lazy man's modulation -- up one step.

  • We do it the original way, mostly because I can only sing it in the original keys, my voice doesn't adjust that easy

  • Whatever it takes to do it well. I find I have to change keys on about half the songs I do to do them right. That is one reason I don't think I could or would do Karaoke.

  • Yeah, I understand.

  • You got it, Buck. Super version. *****.

  • Great version, my friend.

    *****

  • An excellent version of a wonderful song Buck.Full marks and hugs to you..Jan and Susan.x

  • Thanx for this...Johnny was a one off. They broke the mould when Johnny was born...bless him...i really liked this.

  • I'm enjoying your music while I'm trying to get my day organized on one of those Famcy Computer Planners ...

Life was much simpler years ago when I turned on the radio and used a Yellow pad a paper and a pen.

Now, it's Lap-Top's, Palm's and BCB Band on You Tube ... do I dare call that progress?

    David

  • Well, there is progress forward and backwards I think. LOL
