P.S. New order were just trying to be Joy Division and sucking at it, whereas Belle and Sebastian were (and still are) one of the best and most original bands to grace our ears with there music, and this is one of their more experimental tracks which isn't even very popular, so even if they ripped a song off, the song that was the product of it played no part in their becoming famous. And I was having a good day 'til I saw those comments.
actually idiotic beings of lesser intellect, the chord prog for the start of this song (in terms of the key of C) is C G Am F, which, as well as being completely different chords to "proccesion" is also the most popular chord progression in pop (see axis of awesome's four chord song) so one of the few songs it doesn't have the same chords as is the one you claim it's ripped off.
P.S. I checked out the song "procession" and it kinda sucks. I'd never listen to that, but I can't get enough of this masterpiece.
That other band sounds like synths and drums and guitars, this song sounds like a heaven fantasy world...it's just much better and irreplaceable... <3 this song..
jesus mate how can you say its a rip off. every piece of music now borrows and samples and tries retro styles. sometimes they work, sometimes they dont. this works.
I meant that as ironic. In fact i think music of today is so commercially aimed that i hope that one day, people will make a whole new genre for almost all of this milleniums popular music, then forget it, move on and make damn good music again. People today have gotten the idea that music is in a genre per se. But thats what people make the music. It can be just any damn thing and that's what people need to make again. Just create and don't manufacture.
W/ORT who's ripping off whom, this is one of my favorites, not because of what meaning it may have, but because we are upon the upwelling of an Electronic Rennaissance. People are fed up with cheap plastic hightech. Some of us, and we know who we are, take forms from the ancients. Frank Jones, Frederic Terman... These engineering forms are merged with modern technology creating a new class of functionality and robustness. You can't buy it in the stores. 99.9% couln't afford it were it available.
New Order gets ripped off all the time by indie rock bands, but very rarely do I see them get any credit. If anything sounds somewhat "new wave" or "post-punk" everyone just shouts "TALKING HEADS"....when more often than not, it's new order that is being referenced/blatantly ripped off.
people who likes b&s's style use to dislike this song coz it seems different from the other ones, this is my favorite from tigermilk though i dont know exactly why.

Play a game with your electronics
Take a step to the discotheque, and people
Go outside where there's someone watching cars go by
And the city tall with steeples
Hand in hand with the Electronic Renaissance Is the way to go

@nearmintable the synthesizer? The beat? The vocals? You can say for yourself.
Anyways, i think the title of this song might be a reference to new wave.

A new new wave song and it's immediately a rip off. Come on.

Delphic's "Doubt" sounds like Belle & Sebastian's "Electronic Resonance" which sounds like New Order's "Procession". The loops are looping!

hahaha. It's kind of funny if you listen to both at the same time.

Procession, Electronic Renaissance, AND Knight of Wands are all kick ass songs!
I think I've decided to name my kids Belle and Sebastian.
