I forge some, others are shop bought. I also use second hand markets etc. The brands are Stanley, Crown and Henry Taylor, but that is not that important The size of the tools are more important to me, a 1 roughing out gouge, 2 straight gouge and a ½ skew chisel that's mainly what I use.
Have you ever considered putting a video up on how to make one of these foot powered lathes? They're an amazing tool. In fact, until recently I didn't even know wood could be turned without high-speed motor power; that's one good reason for keeping these old techniques alive.
Doesnt the wood need to spin back n forth with the rope?

Do you forge your turning tools? If not what brand are they?

I hardly ever see anyone pull real shavings on a lathe. Beautiful product. Very nice job.
