I'm selling a Yamaha kt100 so if anyone's interested type in Yamaha kt100 for sale and you should see it, from there you should see my email address feel free to send me a message and we will discuss the price
@TheIdkusername these tire are dunalop race tires that I got off ebay. The rear tires are a massive 10" (diameter) by 10" (wide) where as the front wheels are 10" by 6"
@edgarstheman22 I wish i just spend alot of money on my hobbies lol, in the end it kidna became a money pit lol. Atleast I got some enjoyment out of it!!
Great job buddy, really detailed and systematic process shows you learnt alot; Was this vid made as evidence for a College interview or something? Hope you thanked you Dad for letting you use his tools for the job!
@Jakeyboyshow Yeah this was supposed to be for the college reps because I put a link to these videos in my essays but I dont know how much it actually helped lol.
Nice job, im new to building a go kart and am curious to see most go karts only go around 45 mph top speed. Is there anyway to make it like 55 or 60? Does the amount of hp matter? Whats the difference from a 6 hp motor and a 12 hp? Again im a n00b X)
@indyracer05 Well top speed is usually increased by the gearing ratio, because go karts generally have a clutch with fixed gears you can swap them out for a higher ratio. For example on a bicycle that has gears you go the fastest when the gear on your pedles is large and the gear on the rear wheel is small. My go kart has a 12tooth driver on the engine and a 60tooth driver on the axle. If you increase the gear on the engine from a 12tooth to a 18tooth you will gain a faster top speed.
@indyracer05 Horsepower isnt really what you want to worry about its torque. Horsepower is actually calculated from torque The amount of torque an engine can produce is basically how hard it can twist the axle around. The harder it twists then a) you get faster accelleration and b) you can get a higher top speed because the engine can twist the axle harder moving the wheels faster at lower rpms. Larger displacement engines (more cc's) have more horsepower and more torque.
@indyracer05 check out this site, it might help you out Also because your so close to the ground and in open air, going 45mph makes me crap my pants ha ha. Most go karts dont have suspension either so every little bump feels like your gonna crash. My recomendations are that unless you have a smooth pavement track I would worry about accelaration rather than top speed.
@TheMrcod5killer Hmmm well it depends on what kind of clutch you have in relationship to your engine. Make sure that the clutch is rated to take the amount of horsepower the engine puts out. Also a thing to consider is gearing, it sounds to me that your engine is stalling because your gearing is too tall, If your clutch is mounted on a go kart then I would recommend a 12tooth driver on the engine and either a 60 or 72 tooth driver on the drive shaft.
@TheMrcod5killer Ive read that torque converters give better acceleration but lower top speed compared to centripidal clutches. Another thing to note is that some clutches designed for racing applications have adjustable engagement speeds that can be set by either tightening, losening, or replacing the springs. It could be that your clutch has an engagment speed that is set too low. If worst come to worst buy a new torque converter!! Tell me more about your specific set up maybe i can do more!!
@Gibsongoblin The Clutch opperates much like a clutch in a car, it engages the engine to the drive train. With out the clutch everytime the engine is running the wheels have to be running to. So the clutch allows the engine to idle while the go kart is stationary, when the engine gets to 2400rpm the clutch engages the engine and the wheels allowing you to move. This clutch is centrifical meaning that it spins up to a certain speed before engaging. Thanks!!
@Gibsongoblin say you turn on your go kart engine would you like for your go kart (or car) to start moving? obviously not so that is what a clutch is used for. as the crankshaft turns at idle it turns the inside part of the clutch (the hub) as you press on the gas a the hub turns more and more you have more centrifugal force so there are these springs that allow the hub to expand the the hub expands so much that it starts rubbing on the part that is separate from the hub (1/2)
@george2011k (2/2) the part which is attached to the chain which in turn is attached to the wheel. so the crankshaft turns the hub making the hub expandand rubbing against the outside part that is attached to the wheel.
@pivotboy63 I spent alot of money on this especially the engine, but all in all minus the engine I would say like 500-1000$. 300$ for parts (steering, axil, tires, clutch, ect.), 100 Dollars for steel, and around 130$ for the engine
@asg3131 Ha ha your so right. I built the Dyno But I couldnt get the software to work so I never finished the movie lol. Maybe at some point I'll finish it just for you ha ha
Alright so the first thing you need to do is tell me your situation and what ever you do dont initiate any contact with your ex until we figure something out! It really is key and a mistake I made. So try and stay away from your ex for the time being! Thanks Fred

You didn't have to buy a whole new block you could have bored out the cylinder and taped in a piston sleeve

@TheDustinwalker54118 True but then I would have to get one of those super percise thousand dollar engine hone lol, but your right!

instead of buying a new block, you probably couldve had the original block bored out and gotten a bigger piston. probably wouldve been cheaper

If you have the right equiptment then yess, but I dont unfortunetely so I just got a new clone block for like 50 bucks
