Winning when you have the best car is no sweat.

Kimi winning it in 2004 in a McLaren which was nowhere near as good as the totally dominant Ferrari (and without a good car Schumacher wins no races as is evident now) weighs more. In 2009 the Ferrari was horrible, and no match for the Brawn or Red Bull cars, or even the McLaren. Yet Kimi won in Spa with it.

You don't win 4 times on Spa (almost 5 in row) without being special.

It's easy to sit here and be a wise guy afterwards, but looking back from 06 at his time in Mclaren it would look like he never would have won a WC. He probably would have won 07 and 08 but in 06 it just felt like he had to get out of that losing team. And remember Kimi really wasn't that great in pointing his teams in the right direction how to build a car that suits him.

Pastor Maldonado is underrated, he's doing pretty well, beating Rubens 9 times in qualifing, Hulkenberg wasn't able to do that.

Plus the fact that Williams is faling down years after years, there is nothing Kimi will do with such a bad car.

Still it will be better to see Raikonnen than paying drivers like Petrov, B. Senna, Chandock...

@SchumiSutil I think the main reason for the hesistation on Williams' part on deciding on their driver line up is because Raikkonen would probably be seeking a one year deal. A lot of contracts end in 2012 and he's probably forwards to a better car for 2013.

Even thought I'm Kimi fan, if I were making the decision at Williams, I'd be leaning towards locking in Adrian Sutil (if he really is being forced out of Force India) long term.

The fact that he came from 10th on the grid to beat the dominant Ferraris in 2004 shows how good he has on this track. His fastest lap record from that day still stands today. I see Raikkonen's record at Spa compared to Schumi's a bit like Nadal compared to Federer. The latter is the greatest of all time, but the former has the edge on him on clay (Spa = clay courts in this analogy).

I can't see why there is so much fuss about Kimi. He didn't even beat Massa, was beaten by both Heidfeld and then Coulthard in 2002. Montoya beat him from time to time as well when he came back from his shoulder injury.

Schumacher every single time beat his teammate in Spa, except in 2010 Rosberg beat him thanks to SC.
