  • Why do you suddenly just reply to the video thus ensuring that I won't respond because I am not notified? You sir are a cheat and a coward to boot!

  • Catholic martyr!

  • Henry could've got his royal backside down to the tower to stop the execution in time.

  • Yes lets all mourn the death of a man who had others imprisoned and executed for having the audacity to read the Bible in English and standing up for their beliefs....

  • I also like how you can tell on Charles Brandons face, that he's against executing him. It's so obvious and so heartbreaking. And in a strange way, it makes me kind of happy.

    R.I.P. Thomas More <3

    Bro's before ho's! (And I'm a girl?)

  • My law school bears his name and I'm proud of it. Thomas More is a true genius of his time and followed his principles and values until the very end. In this decadent Western world where everything Christian is put aside and made fun of , we should remember that we are the greatest civilization that Humanity has known ...but we are self destructing. A video of Jayz has more views than this.

  • @docwillems Great comment. St. Thomas More was a great man, much like the other English saints who died for the Roman Catholic Church rather than to accept the Anglican Church.

The Christian tradition is glorious and we are the greatest and most virtuous civilization ever. You are 100% correct.

  • King Henry. The biggest prick to ever rule England...

  • @penguineatswalrus No you forgot Blair, Brown and labour fuckers.

  • @docwillems also Edward the 1st was pretty bad

  • @penguineatswalrus Hey, don't blame Henry for Sir Thomas's death. Blame the church for not granting him a divorce from Catherine.

  • @xyPERSON oh, so it is the Church who is to blame?

  • @alonelychild Because the church refused to grant him a divorce he became angry and fed up with it which led to his split and push for sovereignty.Unfortunately his good and loyal friend Thomas Moore could not turn his back on his beliefs and put the king before God.

  • @penguineatswalrus king henry the biggest lad to ever rule England

  • @NUFCandS04forever i wouldnt go so far as to say that. the man was very egotistical. just look at his portraits. he was a fat man he indulged himself with food, women and many other things. im not saying he was all bad, he just was a giant control freak. ha, giant:D

  • @penguineatswalrus he was only fat in the last years of his life when he had his leg injury, but before that he was a tremendous athlete, and every monarch was egotistical its part of the character. The fact is Henry is well known for a reason and that was his mission

  • @NUFCandS04forever thats interesting. i never knew that

  • Not everything that clerics do in the name of the Church carries canonical authority. If I decided to set up my own "U.S. court" and started to hang people whom I didn't like, would you say that what I am doing is actually sanctioned by the U.S. Gov't? or the people of the U.S.? There is a clear distinction between an individual's actions, taken without societal sanction, and the actions of an individual done under the aegis of an institution.

  • The trial that nullified the original sentence exonerated Jeanne in 1456.

  • @Pi10sco

I hope they will soon do the same for Savonarola.

    PS:

He was not a dictator and he never executed anybody.

Read the book "Fra Girolamo Savonarola, His life, His time and his memory" by Simone Santi if you want to know the truth.

  • Thats how a real man meets his end - I had a lump in my throat when he helped the axeman to his feet - pity that in real life Thomas Moore burned hundreds of heretics .

  • I love how the Tudors portray Thomas Moore as a victim, and stand up guy, even though he tortured and killed 1000's for reading the bible in English...

  • @Vegbino A real man of his times:-)

  • "I died his good servant, but God's first"

  • thomas moore was a great guy. how could the english people accept a fat tyrant hendry the 8th. they should have toppled him and chopp his head like he didi to others.

  • @zia685 um, Thomas More killed hundred of Protestants, hardly a great guy.

  • @meers5 That's from the show. In reality, Thomas More did not approve of prosecutions of Protestants or anybody else for that matter. He was never responsible for anybody else's blood.

  • @892lgy7382 No, thats not from the show thats from every single history book written about the tudor-stuart age.

  • The GOD is first...

  • I get so emotional while watching this scene. Incredible performances from Jonathan and Jeremy.

  • @CoIoRearte Capital letters does not make it more true. It is a sign of desperation.

  • @CoIoRearte You are really high on the god juice. LOL!

  • How can Thomas More be both a saint and a sir at the same time? philipnute com

  • So has the extermination of the Don Cossacks by the communists in the 1920s, the Volga Germans in 1941 and mass executions and deportations to concentration camps of Lithuanians, Latvians, Estonians and Poles. At the end of World War II, Stalin's gulag held 5.5 million prisoners, 23% of them Ukrainians and 6% Baltic peoples.

  • Ilya Ehrenburg, Minister of Soviet Propaganda and disseminator of anti-German hate material dating from the 1930s. Ehrenburg instigated the Soviet Red Army rape and murder of German civilians. Referring to German women, Ehrenburg gloated to the advancing Red Army troops, "that blonde hag is in for a bad time." : ".the Germans are not human beings. nothing gives us so much joy as German corpses." Thus 3 million german women and many millions eastern european women were gang raped by joos order

  • Jacob Yurovsky led the death squad which carried out Sverdlov's order for the murder of the Czar's family, including the bayoneting to death of the Czar's daughters.

Lazar Moiseyevich Kaganovich : chief mass murderer for Stalin, ordered the deaths of 15 millions and the wholesale destruction of all Christian monuments hospitals and churches , . Standing amid the rubble of the cathedral, Kaganovich proclaimed, "Mother Russia is cast down. We have ripped away her skirts."

  • V.I. Lenin, supreme dictator. Leon Bronstein (Trotsky): Grigory Apfelbaum (Zinoviev): executive, Soviet Secret Police. Solomon Lozovsky: deputy Soviet foreign minister. Maxim Wallach (Litvinov): Soviet foreign minister. Yuri Andropov: director, Soviet KGB, later supreme dictator of the Soviet Union.

Jacob Sverdlov: first president of the Soviet Union. Sverdlov ordered the massacre of the Czar's family--women and children--in the town named after Catherine the Great, Yekaterinburg,

  • Four Gulag camp commandants. Note that all four are giving the secret sign of Jewish Freemasonry, just as did Communism's founding father, the Jewish Mason, Karl Marx.

66 million murdered by mostly Jewish Gulag overlords! That's over ten times the number of Jews claimed to have been ''slain in concentration camps''.

  • from what i know it most certainly didn't happen like this

  • I saw this episode yesterday on Flemish television, from far the most touching scene in the Tudors.

  • The Catholic Faith was founded by Jesus Christ- who promised that the gates of hell would not prevail against it. Catholic sinners? Catholics are believers who await the return of their Redeemer. Haters of Catholics? Christ will only ask you about your own sins on the last day of your life- no one else (including Catholics). Oh, as Christ was rejected, so is his Church. The darkness hates the Light.

  • @jduffyification Jesus founded no faith, let alone the catholic one. What they did in his name was an abomination belonging to the dark.

  • @jduffyification No it wasn't. Jesus wasn't even a christian:-) What was done in his name has been a disgrace for 2000 years.

  • Thomas more was a catholic tyrant before he met his just end. His hand was implicit in the death of many protestants.

  • @greenpenone

Tudors wasnt historically accurate. More never executed or burned anyone. He did question reformists though.

  • @grandmasterc1982 And he did have a big say in what went on as Lord chancellor I believe?

  • @greenpenone

Lord Chancelor's role didnt include executions. Though he could have requested a pardon on behalf of the condemned.

  • @grandmasterc1982 Exactly. He was all for what happened to non catholics.

  • @greenpenone

    Source?

  • @grandmasterc1982 For what?

  • @grandmasterc1982 But the very church who had Jeanne De Arc burned at the stake also decided she was a saint five hundred years on. Isn't that also rank hypocrisy of the first order?

  • @greenpenone The Church never condemned Jeanne. She was sentenced to death by a kangaroo court of pro-English clerics who were trying to feather their own nests by collaborating with English invaders against the King of France. She never advocated heretical views and was therefore exonerated by the Church a few decades after her death when the English were thrown out of France.

  • @Pi10sco As you say: "She was sentenced to death by a kangaroo court of pro-English clerics who were trying to feather their own nests." My point exactly. Thank you. She was made a saint of that very church whose minions condemned in 1925. Not a few decades methinks. Rank hypocrisy of the first water.

  • @BritishFreedomTV I think you misunderstand me, friend. Bishop Cauchon and the clerics who condemned Jeanne were rogues acting for political reasons. They were cloaking their masters' wishes to see Jeanne dead with their religious authority. In no way did they represent the Church hierarchy or the teachings of Jesus and his Church. That is why the Church officially disowned Cauchon's actions later.

  • @Pi10sco So you are saying that senior officials of that church were doing their master's bidding but they also didn't represent the church? So who did represent their church then? You want your cake and to eat it as well.

  • @greenpenone Transcripts of the trial are actually available on line.

  • @greenpenone

Another failure in history. There was no Inquistion in England, so Joan of Arc was executed under secular law. Look up the topic before embarassing yourself any further.

  • @grandmasterc1982 Who mentioned an inquisition. Your failure, not mine. Who's got a red face now? Fool!

  • @greenpenone

You said the church killed Joan of Arc, yet there was no inquisition to kill her(canon law). You are out of your league simpleton

  • @grandmasterc1982 So I did some time ago, moron. The spineless bastards of the catholic church. Never said anything about inquisition although the priests did question her. Go away gormless oaf.

  • @grandmasterc1982 And if I am correct, as THomas moore was a catholic, then the very church Henry founded could not make him a saint. AFAIK only the catholic church has this ridiculous system of elevating their hierarchy in this way.

  • @greenpenone

Thomas More is a saint in the church of England and in the entire Anglican communion.

  • @grandmasterc1982 And your point is?

  • @greenpenone

You brought it up moron. You so shit faced you can't keep track of your topics?

  • @grandmasterc1982 No arsewipe, you did it deliberately because I was getting the better of you. It shows you up for exactly what you are.

  • Couldn't he have just confiscated all his property and banished him instead?

  • lets just agree to say people are evil in general. race and beliefs dont really matter. men generally look out for their own interests. there are exceptions here and there such as thomas moore. but people have to keep in mind that his rep wasnt spotless either and he did some evil things during his time as well. im sick of atheists and christians getting up on their soap boxes and trying to tell people why their views are great and everyone elses are wrong.

  • @batfan9 I agree, the problem is that theists like catholics make stuff up. Atheists stick to science and fact. Does an Atheist ever say you're going to hell because you don't believe in what they believe? No.

  • @Michael500ca you just replied to my comment and called my religion made up. do you not expect that to anger me? im not trying to start a pissing match but some people take there religion seriously, they might base their whole life around it, and when you say shit like that your just starting fights. i know you werent trying to be offensive and im not mad or anything but still you should try to watch what you say. and i expect theists to do the same in regards to atheism.

  • @batfan9 I only speak the truth. If that angers someone, those are their feelings and therefore their problem. I don't want some pissing match, in which we both know will end up nowhere. I agreed with you. I meant no offense.

  • @Michael500ca Really, we make stuff up? Where is your evidence? Absence of Evidence is not, in and of itself Evidence of Absence. In fact, logic indicates there is a high possibility of their being a God. I refer here to the Ontological Argument, the Prime Mover, Cogito Ergo Sum, the Argument from Conciousness, and others. I am curious as to what "Science and Fact" you used to decide their was no God, when nothing in "Science and Fact" says there is no God.

  • @KellAnderson Easy. 1) The burden of proof is on proving something exists. You have failed. 2) Occam's Razor (if you don't know what that is, google it.) Have a nice day.

  • @KellAnderson Like Einstein said, SHOW ME GOD!. So, where is he? Good luck with that one.

  • @grandmasterc1982 That makes absolutely no sense. What does being a pantheist matter? Your ignorance clearly knows no bounds.

  • Comment removed

  • @grandmasterc1982 I did not lie about Einstein. Your religion has been exposed!

  • Thomas More went to heaven, baptism in his own blood for Christ sake. Reminiscent of what the early church fathers went through by walking merrily to their death for Christ and the Catholic faith(Ignatius, Polycarp, Justin Martyr).

  • maybe i'm weird but i find that scream sooo sexy! I loved to see it in the opening credits all the time LOL

  • Thomas Moore was murderer! He should be considered fortunate to have gotten such a "soft" execution, considering how he preferred to kill anyone who didn't practice Christianity according to HIS beliefs. Jerk!

  • youtube.com/watch?v=CcgWzUVzJo4

  • Thomas More executed those who read the Bible in English. Read your history people.

  • God bless St Thomas More!

  • youtube.com/watch?v=Ap1PrmeHams

  • yes and the "church" of England is riddled with homes. All the scout associations are riddled with these Anglican Queens....scum

  • That last shot is so powerful. Blood shed over faith.

  • God bless sir Thomas More a man that died for hid beliefs

  • The Execution Of Thomas More and the Catholic Martyrs is Victory of Catholics over Anglican. The Fall of the Abbott and the Protestant Kingdom based on the Illegitimate Queen Elizabeth...

  • @eraser695 What a bloody ridiculous statement to make.

  • @BritishFreedomTV I like that you hate it.

  • One of the most moving scene in The Tudors, the execution of Sir Thomas More.Henry VIII had an upright & righteous man executed not for any religious or political beliefs but to satisy his desire to marry another woman.

  • great acting

  • amaqula, don't bother anymore. You can't argue with people who are brainwashed. You can always ask them: If someone were to commit murder and then falsely say he did it because he was following you, would you be guilty for his crime? If not, then why blame Jesus or His Church for the crimes of Hitler? Isn't possible that some who claim to be Catholic really are not acting like it? Don't their actions speak louder than their words?

  • @amaqula A Catholic accusing someone else of bigotry? That's must be a joke!

  • @assasincomedy That's rich coming from someone who believes in the stories of book which has been discredited time and again. You're the one who's brainwashed, probably from birth, the same way your fellow cultists tried to do to me. I blame the anti-Semitic and homophobic preachings from your church that led to the holocaust. More recently I blame it for it's crimes against, and silencing of, children. I think Hitler WAS acting like a Catholic.

  • @bheadh Case and point. I'd rather be gay than a bigot (for the record I'm not gay). It's fuckers like you who have held back society, keeping many areas of civilization in the 17th century. No sir, I think you've fucked many people up the a..hole, if only metaphorically, because you judge something you don't understand, and condemn people with no other reason than your filthy cult's preachings.

  • @bheadh Furthermore, gay people have always been (and still are being) killed just for being gay. Or haven't you noticed? As for the civil rights movement, I hope you're aware that the Confederacy, who fought against Lincoln, justified their position with the bible, as the bible was used to justify slavery in the first place, and as it was used to justify separating the races by violence with that infamous Christian initiative known as the KKK. Put that up your ass and smoke it!

  • This was so sad. Thomas was like Henry's dad =(

  • My regards to Thomas More. Unfortunately the religion has gone south. Watch Jesus Camp available on the internet and see for yourself what these people do to their children. Sad indeed.

  • @assasincomedy Not pathetic at all. Facts have always been a threat to the insecurity of the church. I know the teachings better than you. In fact there is a website out there where people can take a test on the bible. On average christians scored 52%, atheists scored 90%. 93% American Academy of Sciences doctors are atheist or agnostic. No false assumptions here, you look to the church for those. It does affect you because HERE YOU ARE ASSHOLE!

  • @Michael500ca Oh really. Well, I don't really base my entire argument of smartness on a website poll. It seems you do. "American Academy of Sciences doctors are atheist or agnostic" Whoopdie, doo. Even if you did provide documentation for this claim (which you probably won't), that does not mean that Catholics are not intelligent. Your argument is flawed and pathetic. What religion were Galileo, Antoine Laurent Lavoisier, Nicolaus Copernicus, Enrico Fermi, and Georges Lemaître?

  • @assasincomedy What religion was Galileo? You mean the man who was threatened with torture by the church for trying to be all sciencey and book-smart hya hya? All scientists back then believed in a creator, because we didn't have the knowledge then that we do now. By the way, Sir Isaac Newton thought that the pope was the anti-christ. hya hya.

  • @rationalsalvation Galileo was Catholic. Want me to prove it? The Inquisition only had durisdiction of trial over members of the Catholic Church. Your comment just shows even more of your ignorance to the Catholic Church and the trial of Galileo. Prove that he was threatened with torture. Every major historian denies this claim, and they claim he was treated like royalty by the Papacy. Sir Isaac Newton was spiritual, but was not a Christian.

  • See triple 'w' dot youtube.com/watch?v=1zolHHLRLZE

  • @amaqula Yes, pray to oppress women and brainwash children. Makes me gag!

  • @amaqula Do you have any evidence that atheists mistreat their women? I think you'll find that Christianity and Islam teach that women are an inferior creation. I told you before, Catholics have abortions like everyone else. Wasn't Abraham willing to kill his own child for God? Don't you worship a God who killed the first born of every family in Egypt? Didn't God allow Lot to survive his wrath because he offered his own daughters to be raped?

  • @rationalsalvation Evidence? The pornography industry. People are brought up to treat women as objects. As usual, more blurted out anti-catholic opinion that has no relevance to actual fact. Perhaps you need to treat your ignorance to the Christian faith. Yes, schismatic and excommunicated Catholics have abortions. Practicing Catholics would never approach such a thing. Do some research into the Old Testament before putting more, as usual, opinionated 'fact' in your comments.

  • @assasincomedy Women are not FORCED into pornography, they get paid for it. More theocratic bullshit from you. Where are your facts? Only schismatic and ex-catholics have abortions, you know this? LMAO! Catholics are the worst hypocrites. You wanna test my knowledge on the Old Testament, go ahead, from my understanding of history; the church didn't even want it's lowly members to read the bible, they kept it written in Latin, hence the reformation. That only ended a few centuries ago.

  • @rationalsalvation Did I ever say they were forced? I used pornography as an example that atheists and even some sinful religious today act as if women are objects, rather than people. Try not to use assumptions that make yourself look ignorant. Yes, I do know that only schismatic and excommunicated Catholics get abortions. That is canon law. I'm sorry if I offended you if you think you know better about the Catholic Church than it's own teachings.

  • @amaqula Um, I know catholic people personally and the men run everything. The women are only allowed to speak when the man says they can. You know very well you are wrong. You represent evil on our world and soon it will be extinguished. What catholic state?

  • @Michael500ca I have no idea what sort of 'catholics' you know 'personally', but how can you make a generalisation of the ENTIRE 1.2 billion membership of the Catholic Church on simply these 'catholics'? What is most suspicious is that these 'catholics' know personally a bitter anti-catholic. They are not practicing Catholics, that is what I assume from common sense.

  • Comment removed

  • @assasincomedy Wow. Out of 1.2 billion catholics you claim, only .2 billion follow the vatican, because of the evil the vatican spews! And, you do not know me, but as an Atheist I tell the truth. I know that is so hard for you to hear.

  • @assasincomedy evangelicals are evil catholics are evil I think that was his point you uneducated bigot!

  • @TheSpamchucker Bigot? That's almost funny. Michael500ca is the bigot. He comes on here and blasts us with fallacious arguments and lies, and then thumbs up his own comments 20-30 times, while putting mine on -30! That's just pathetic!

  • @assasincomedy And finally, after some basic research, Atheism is growing faster and catholics are in fact in decline. So you lied! Isn't lying a sin in your religion? Typical lying and denying. Like this I found on CNN. (CNN) "A total of 250 clerics in the Boston Archdiocese have been accused of child abuse in recent decades, according to information made public Thursday by Cardinal Sean O'Malley in an attempt to help resolve an issue tearing at the core of Catholicism". Have a nice day bigot.

  • @assasincomedy Evil is subjective, I agree with you on that. But you are the ones oppressing others with anti-human speech with your fundamentalist evil beliefs of stone/bronze age ideals, with no merit anymore. Secularism is not even a factor in this. Watch Jesus Camp and learn how your kind abuses children and conditions them for terrorist attacks. They actually say that in the video. Pathetic monsters.

  • @amaqula Ah, more like you and hitler have more in common. Killing people. DUH!

  • @amaqula Yes listen to the news. Hundreds of catholic priests have admitted to raping boys and girls. The vatican has even admitted in the last week of establishing a fund to deal with their 'problems'.

  • @Michael500ca Almost all men in countries like Afghanistan, Irak, Simbabwe, Kongo and other muslim countries are married with 9 (or younger) aged girls. It´s allowed in the Islam. Do you mean only the catholic are pedophil?

  • @LunaMajesty not only are catholics pedophiles.children in the amazon are married even earlier.it means that catholics are pedohiles along with other groups.catholics commited genocide, the greatest crime ever, destroying the inca!please leave your beliefs and join the 21st century before the great deconversion!!!!

  • @flyman385 I don´t belive in any gods. Don´t be worried ;)

  • @StSimonMartyr Everyone smart knows that Fox (Faux) News is full of shit and religious propaganda. We know 100,000 of children of catholics are sexually abused per year just in the US alone. Since there is 1+billion catholics vs 40 million jews it is not hard to do the math. Get educated...oh right, your church won't let you.

  • @amaqula You obviously don't know what is happening in my 'backyard'. We've all seen the murders done in the UK by catholics because they won't take responsibility for what they did. So sad. Digging up kids in a backyard. That's catholics for you.

  • @amaqula Simple. catholics worship hitler who worshiped god to rape women and kill children.

Simple. Atheists worship knowledge to help humanity to not rape woman and kill children.

    Simple enough.

  • @amaqula And as we see catholics decline day by day, it is soooo great. Here is some news for you. Atheists do not worship! Totally PWNED! Nice cut and paste by the way. Got you again. You know Antarctica is available for you. All for yourselves. Oh yes, thanks for the Dark Ages! Totally PWNED!

  • @bheadh Another response? Your comment actually proves something. I do not support abortion. Just because I'm an atheist does not mean I support abortion. Atheism does not necessarily say we came from nothing. However for something to exist (1), nothing has to exist (0). As far as no god, no meaning to life and no morals (subjective), that is your problem. Most normal people just enjoy the life they have. Live this life, not worry about kissing up to some flying spaghetti monster in the sky.

  • @bheadh Yes, Pope Pius XII accepted the Big Bang theory in 1951. Look it up if you want to. Anyways thanks for the prayers and take care. Peace (I guess we can agree on something).

  • @bheadh "Something cannot come from nothing" Is God something or nothing?

  • @bheadh In addition to my previous comment, the catholic church officially accepted the big bang in 1951 as being in accordance with genesis. So just to let you know, YOU JUST GOT PWNED!

  • Comment removed

  • @amaqula The big bang was first postulated by Edwin Hubble and Georges LeMaitre. Get you facts straight 21st century pagan. ATHEIST WORLD Please. "What we have to fight for...is the freedom and independence of the fatherland, so that our people may be enabled to fulfill the mission assigned to it by the Creator." [Adolph Hitler, _Mein Kampf_, pp. 125] "I am now as before a Catholic and will always remain so" [Adolph Hitler, to Gen. Gerhard Engel, 1941]

  • Comment removed

  • @Michael500ca No thanks, Jesus Camp is based on evangelical Christianity. That has no relevance to what the Catholic Church does. Yes, secularism is a factor. With no set in stone morals, we run into a barbaric pit.

  • @assasincomedy What is the difference? The Evangelical Christians and the Catholic Church do the same things as in Jesus Camp. They brainwash their children into believing archaic bronze age beliefs. How barbaric they are. And then we normal people have to clean up the mess! Thank you very much. If you just believed in yourselves and other humans, peace and people loving people "Atheism" the world would be such a better place.

  • @assasincomedy First off, I do give to charity. Not like you guy how build golden icons of saints and furnish the pope's bathroom with gold finishing, instead of helping people. Funny you mention common sense, which is the core the Atheism. Go read your bible full of lies and deceit. Unlike you, me and my mind are free.
