  • so orignal

  • best game ever made.

  • is it me or does this games music sound dead on some of the 8-bit pokemon themes?like frillz

    naw..its just me..but damn though.

  • @electrolyteKaosiz Because this game was made by Game Freak, the same company who made Pokemon

  • they should make another pulseman game, it was sooo cool :(

  • "pha! q!"

  • he goes inside computers and is reallt fast that he can turn into a ball, he's like a combination of Megaman CLassic, Megaman.EXE, and SOnic

  • When the enemys are deafeted, are the saying "F@!? you!"

  • a game freak megaman copy!wow!

  • @Rayquaza895 copy of megaman not, maybe a copy of megaman x but thoes games came after

  • Ths game have too many lights, im glad that i dont get epilepsy

  • This looks like a cross between Sonic the Hedgehog and Megaman.

  • Come to think of it, Pulseman was the inspiration towards the Pokemon "Rotom", as they look similar, shoot electricity and enter electronic devices

  • I always thought it was "Flash Arrow" and "Voltekker." I could be wrong about that, though.

  • Just WHAT does he say when he unleashes a fully powered shot?!

    =P

  • Slash Arrow? I think? If your talking about the one where he throws his body at the enemy, then judging by wikipedia, its "Voltteccer".

  • Anyone able to send me a ROM of this?

  • I SIMPLY LOVE THIS GAME!!!

  • I choose you, ROTOM!

    WASHNOOWASHNOOWASHNOO

    Fuck you!

  • will this game work on an American Genesis (since it only came out in Japan?)

  • MD games won't fit in certain Genesis models without cart slot modding. Even then, it has a lockout chip in the cart. You can use a Game Genie to bypass the lockout (google the GG code) and so you don't have to mod your cart slot. Game Genies will not work on the Genesis 3. The cart is expensive too. It was recently released on the Wii through Virtual Console. 900 pts or $9. Cheaper and easier.

  • Sorta like a marriage of Megaman X, and Sonic series...could be much worse though...not too shabby.

  • this was worth the 900 points

  • This game actually looks kinda fun. I might have to download this.

  • what system was this originally for? is it available on the VC?

  • its for sega mega drive, its on vc for 900 points cos its jpn only (hanabii festival)

  • Genesis

  • actully i have played the game it is better than any megaman X game but no megaman's 1-4

  • Pulseman sorta reminds me of the Megaman Zero. I mean his look.

  • it's a good game but i like Megaman better lol

  • Will at least Game Freak developed other games before Pokemon came about but i think it's pretty cool.

  • looks awesome. I hope it get's brought to american VC.

  • Yes, today actually.

  • It came out today. :)

  • YTF wsn't this game even released here SMFH. Fucking stupid ass SoA.

  • does he say "f*ck you" ?

  • It honestly sounds it...

but I'm not so sure. I think he's saying something else. Remember, this is an import.

  • I just heard. This game is coming out on the Virtual Console.

    Kick Ass! =D

  • Gamefreak maybe more known for Pokemon in other countries, but it was Pulseman that first got them big in Japan. This game rivals Gunstar Heroes for how awesome it is! The core team who made it- Satoshi Tajiri (director), Ken Sugimori (character designer) and Junichi Masuda (music composer), would also go on and make Pokemon. Even after Pokemon made them world famous, its good to know that they still care about their first bundle of love through references in them. Here's hoping for a new game!

  • Yeah. Rotom resembles Pulseman a little.

  • Rotom was based off of Ken Sugimori Pulseman.

  • is it just me or dose pulseman look similar to emerl?

  • i only got the cartridge

  • I got this original with manual and box. The japanese version, never been played but it was opened. How much is it worth?

  • TWENTY-FIVE AMERICAN DOLLARS

  • Is it my imagination, or the music for Stage 1 is the wil Pokémon battle music from Pkmn Red and Blue?

  • It was done by Gamefreak so yeah

  • Jun'ichi Masuda composed the music for both games. Stage 1-1 song is remixed as the Pokemon Gym battle song for RBY.

  • I remember me playing this game when I was seven, good times good times...

  • i have an english translation patch

  • Yeah!! I just downloaded it recently. This game brings so many fond memories... Sigh***

  • I really miss this game!!! This game was FUN!!!

  • It's okay, you have roms and emulators' support

  • Man, Pulseman is awesome. I'm glad I have it running on my Dreamcast.^_^ I like how Gamefreak puts little nods to Pulseman in Pokemon. For example, Pikachu's Volt Tackle is a direct reference to Pulseman's Volteccer.

  • Wow, I never noticed

  • I agree, and like that Pokemon called Rotom looks a lot like Pulseman!

  • Flash Arrow!!! I can't believe I was the only one n (possibly) the whole of my country that hs that game...'till I sold it.

  • What is your countrY?

  • Argentina, so imagine...

  • pulseman was designed by the guy that does pokemon. awsome

  • Yea, he's like half megaman, half astroboy

  • "Hey, he reminds of megaman!" After you play it for awhile you see he's alot different. The whole volteccer thing is pretty awesome. Far more interesting than just getting a different weapon.

  • Gamefreak made this game. Which means, Pulseman did have a chance of getting into Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

He would've been a cool character for brawl.

  • totally

  • Well only his move.

His signature move "Volteccer" was used as Pikachu's Final Smash in a different name: Volt Tackle.

  • This is Sega's reaction to Megaman.

  • Hmm... Looks a lot like Megaman.

  • I played on Sega Channel! Wow!

  • I also played this on the Sega Channel. Oh, the nostalgia! And before I saw a video with this on it, I just COULD NOT remember the name of this game.

  • Great thing to remember that. I hope it will be coming to VC one day.

  • vikingscool

Its on the Virtual Console, but for Japan. I think you can do cross region if it let you, or wait for it to be sent to the America's Virtual Console as a import release. Problem is, they don't translate any import games sent to the American Virtual Console, so Pulseman might not come since it has scene in the game with Japanese text.

  • vikingscool

Also, if you really want it, you can get it on the computer. But it won't look as good as the original version, since its running on a program that makes the video quality of the game not look as good as if it were to run on the original system it was for or Virtual Console. No matter how you set up the options on the program you use to play the game on your computer, the image quality won't look any thing comparded to the actual game on the actual system or Virtual Console.

  • I don't think it would be working for crossed region.

  • vikingscool

Then you can play it on the computer, I'll tell you how.

  • I refuse to play on the computer, because emulator doesn't offer game controller-- just

    only for the keyboard.

  • vikingscool

I was able to set it up using a controller and it not that hard with a key board. You just go to configuration with your controller hooked up. Once their, for exaple you'll see press up for up, so you would press the up button on you controller to set it as up. You would do the same thing with the other buttons.

  • Pikachu stole one his attacks!

Er, well, Pichu on a technicality.

    Volteccer looks awesome.

  • Actually Pikachu did used Pulseman's attack to some extent in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

  • so much like Megaman

  • lol i remembe playing this on the sega channel when i was 12

  • Please, please, PLEASE, Sega. Get this game in America! I wanna download it on Wii so badly!

Very nice run! I can't go through that myself without having to die at least three times.

  • where to download this?

  • May i suggest to you not to encoruge companys shuting down people losing jobe galore you evil & nasty heartless pirate :<

  • nitroroms

  • This MUST be on the Virtual Console.

  • It is... in Japan.

  • @RockmanSonic92 it is

  • is it just me or when he attacks does he say 'f*ck you!'?

  • no he says either "slash arrow"

    or "flash arrow"

but I can understandyou the sound quality is kinda bad but you cant blame em it was the genesis and supernintendo age

  • i think flash arrow... because that´s better...

  • A few months ago I was looking at the new pokemon for D/P on Wikipedia, when I came upon Rotom, it said it resembled Pulseman for the Genesis (very first Game Freak game before Pokemon Green). So I decided to download the ROM and played it and beat it. (weird it had english dialogue and was only released in Japan). It was like playing Sonic and Megamn combined. Once I get Rotom I might nickname it Pulseman Jr.

  • HyperSonicXtreme

It had English dialogue in the Pulseman rom you were playing, because it was a hacked English translate version. The original Japanese version has the voice in English and all the dialogue in Japanese.

  • Pulseman did get a stateside release of sorts on Sega Channel. It was a fantastic game, a little light on the difficulty though.

  • I really miss this game!! I use to play it all night, over an over again on the now defunct Sega channel. :D

  • Why dose Pulseman sound like a megaman boss?

  • so, the faster pulseman runs, the more power he builds up?

  • Well, yeah -- when you run and build up enough electricity, you can either do a projectile attack or dart diagonally across the screen.

  • @Gicane It is also possible to charge Pulseman by quickly pressing left or right twice. And without being charged, Voltteccer is still extremely powerful (it makes you invincible for example, I made a walkthrough of this game) ^^

  • Well it's pretty good, but the level designs lack polish and feel a bit empty to me, though the concepts are cool. The arcade level is tedious.

  • Agreed. It looks and sounds impressive, but the levels aren't too exciting. Earlier platformers like Marvel Land and Wardner are more interesting here.

  • The game gets better, this is just first stage.

    Wii VC please!

  • i'll have to play it some more.

  • WOW This game looks amazing AND IT WAS MADE BY GAMEFREAK I THOUGHT THAT WAS ANOTHER NINTENDO COMPANY anyways its to bad this never got a state side realease great video.

  • The way I heard it, GF was supposed to be totally third party before pokemon...

  • PULSEMAN WAS lN AMERICAN.

    BUT NOT RELEASED IN AMERICA.

    WOW.

  • @ZEROEVILDARKCOOL it was relased in america but it was a seganet title only.

  • @ZEROEVILDARKCOOL ups it was Sega Channel not seganet
