Well he's great to me, that's just a matter of opinion. I watched a special on Daily Planet featuring The Tea Party and they covered a bunch of stuff on the concert and sound amongst other interesting things. I distinctly remember the statement in which Jeff Martin is one of those lucky people to have perfect pitch.

I'd guess primarily because it's blues, it's meant to be felt, not heard...and yes...this man is great, my standards of reference are musicians like Robert Johnson, Led Zeppelin, Fisk and so forth...not to mention 20 years of playing music...

Slide is about as simple as guitar comes...no need to chord or even know more than rudimentary scales to pull it off. Just think of playing guitar with a big metal finger :)
