Man those were the days and that was probably the best music the world has ever listened to...!!!I wish we could return somehow to that wonderful era full of emotions and meanings...
I saw FM way back when supporting Gary Moore......, Brilliant ! I went out the following weekend and bought " Indiscreet ".....it was an awesome album, its a shame they never really took off.
Yep, "Other Side of Midnight", "Face to Face" and now "Frozen Heart". There's three songs that should have walked into the "Hit" category in 1986. Indiscreet was/is one of the best albums of the '80s, but it's gone completely ignored.
Saw them support REO Speedwagon in 85 - amazing. Got the original Indiscreet album on track recording. i.e before it went to record from 85 if anyone is interested. It has the same songs but sounds sooooo much better with out the remixes.
I saw them blow Magnum off the stage at Ipswich in 86. That was the night that Magnum got all pissy and tried to stop them getting a proper sound check (was it because they were going down too well?)
Last time I saw FM they were supporting Bon Jovi at Newcastle City Hall they were fantastic as usual alot better than the main act it has to be said, happy days.
Takes me back man, great stuff. Went to see them with my mate in Glasgow, as they were walking off he says to the guys don't give up your day job! Harsh I loved these guys!
Agreed Nick, these guys were so amazing. Ever heard of Virginia wolf, got their first two records and they were just as awesome and Chris Ousey, their singer was as good as Steve Overland.
otro temazo de esta banda me encanta es que todas las bandas y grupos de esos años eran simplemente lo mejor ¡¡que vuelvan los 80¡¡¡¡ esto si es musica
seen these support gary moore at newcastle city hall in '85. when they walked on stage in suit's i was gob smacked but they turned out to be one of the best support bands i've ever seen. pure AOR heaven.
I got tired telling people how good these guys were in the eighties......pure quality, lost their way a bit with the dead mans shoes album, in my opinion!, but they remain head and shoulders above anything this side of Journey......I miss them
for UnionMetalhead: do favour to yourself and get 2nd album "tough it out" it's marvelous outstanding more rockin heavier than this.. Anyway I've got all 6 FM albums,2 Shadowman,2 TheLadder, Overland solo, rarities bonus tracks etc :)
this is 1 of my fave songs off indiscreet. This 1, that girl, i belong to the night are total immensity! Cant wait to buy their 2nd album soon when my funds are better.
amazing the result of what snorting can do to your dial over the years i mean have a look at the guitarist on fm official web site , it looks as though somebody dug up a coffin and released a mummy ffs, mind you does the bassist think he looks good in those glasses ffs cracking up , and poop old pete looks like pineapple ... mind you do i care? nope afraid not
I too followed FM a lot in the 80's. Saw them recently at Firefest, Nottingham and loved it. I would like to see a bigger playlist but they said they wanted to do more shows so may get to see American Girls live again. Yay.
FM are STILL a great band, they re-formed to headline at Firefest in Nottingham, Steve's voice is still like warm chocolate and gave me goose-bumps!! They hinted that they may play more live gigs next year sometime -I can't wait!
