My xbox does that, its not that loud, but when i play a game e.g. Morden Warfare 2, it makes that noise, but the noise doesnt stop when a disk is in the disc drive. I dont know what is causing it and how to fix it :/

yeah this happened to me with red dead redemption, I have to replace my hitachi drive it doesn't help that the 360 raped the top side of the disk or that it only recognozed it as a DVD.

mine was making that noise and the disc drive is stuck, i ignored it for a while, then as i tried to play halo wars it didnt read the disc. i put in the entertainment center instead of the friggen carpet and it worked flawlessly. plus, you might want to getr the dust out. 360s mess up mainly because of dust and overheating. and dumbass little brothers.

My Xbox Elite started making that exact noise and after about 6 months the drive just quit. Now when I put a disc in, it won't recognize there is even a disc in there. It just fell out of warranty so I started the repair process. Cost me $95 to have it repaired!!!
