  • Jeez guys! Read the description. This is a HIGH ALTITUDE AA gun, and are meant to operate in "batteries", meaning several that are linked together to provide a constant flow of fire at the target(s). Pretty serious stuff! And this is only but ONE component of their comprehensive air defense network. I haven't heard anything on the news about foreign air forces challenging Iran's air space. There must be a reason.

  • easy for american fanboys to start saying YEAH WE HAVE THIS AND THAT

As Mikhail Kalashnikov said=Complex is useless. Usefull is Simple.

Weapons like these 100mm AA guns has proven that they are effective, with a cost of like a 1000 times less then simular missile weapon systems

Iran has proven that high caliber AA guns are still extremely effective, and it wont surprise me if we see more nations developing this. Shell designs have advanced rapidly in the last decade.

  • you can say all you want, but how long did we take to invent this? 30 years with many help. how long did they take,10 years without help? imagine within 30 years

  • Three words: E.M.P.= wheres your automated gun now?

  • @MrPersian001

God shut up! You don't know shit! Jet fighters need to fly at low altitudes??!?!? Go read and get your facts! Please!

  • @Dantemm1999 well you don't know shit jet fighters need to fly at low altitudes so they don't glow like christmas tree on radar screen and get blown after 15 seconds of entering enemies territory ! with this type of weopon they can't do that ! go read and get your facts! PLEASE!

  • it seems they're using cad/cam and old looking lathe/turning machines

  • some facts of this in English?

  • Americans die prostitutes fucked.

  • @GeryDerek

    Eat shit camel lover!

  • @Dantemm1999

Your nation will end up with socialism of Mr. Barack Obama.

  • a remarkably gay aa system

  • at 2:40 it misses LOL

  • This weapon is a smart choice. Rather than using machine guns to bring down low-flying aircraft, bring down high-flying aircraft with ONE SHOT. This bullet can curve in flight also. Watch the other videos.

  • Didn't warships use this back in ww2 wow how advanced

  • They developed the sensor fuse in WW2

  • well this weapon is very advanced, i have worked with it before.

  • against helicopters this weapon would be deadly.

    1 hit 1 kill.

  • Will it work on cruise missiles and against stealth? NO

  • How do you know? Are you an expert? NO!

Seriously, with a system like this, cruise missiles would have a very hard time penetrating defenses. As for stealth fighters, though they can engage at a fairly safe distance, they have to release munitions to hit it's intended target. Those munitions (JDAMs, smart bombs, etc.) would be compromised and vulnerable if faced with overlaying layers of batteries of these guns.

  • @edwong3

You forgot about low flying stealth cruise missiles.

  • Are you asking me if this automatic AA gun can stop stealth cruise missiles? Quite honestly I don't know. It depends I guess. If the optic electronic sensor can "see" the incoming missile soon enough, and the system can react fast enough to acquire, aim, and fire it's munitions, then it's possible. Remember that "stealth" doesn't mean invisibility in the literal sense. Maybe the Iranians have other weapon systems designed to counter a threat of that nature. Your guess is as good as mine.

  • @gregrutz An update! I read on Yahoo News just last week that Iran has designed an "autogun" that can fire 4,000 rounds per minute, and it's purpose is to destroy incoming cruise missiles. Just Google, "Iran develops new air defense system". They also mention that they developing a "long range system", which means they're going to build an analog to the S-300.

  • @edwong3 america and uk i think. have these that can fire 6600 rounds a minute.the uk had a simular gun on the ships in the falklands

  • @bmwnasher Well I know that the US Navy has the Phalanx CIWS which has 2 x 20mm Gatling guns, but the rate of fire is stated as 4500 rounds per minute. The Iranian system uses 8 x 23mm barrels based on the ZU-23 AAA. Now I don't know if the fire rate of 4,000 rounds is PER barrel or the total of all 8. That's interesting to know though.

  • @edwong3 They use an M61 for different applications 20MM 4000 to 6600 rpm the A10 tankbuster has got a gattling gun thats 30MM 4000 rpm.i have stood next to a 30mm aden cannon being tested its unbelievable.4 or 6 thousand rounds i would not like to be the target

  • @bmwnasher Yea... you get hit by one of those, they'll "tear you a new one" for sure!

  • @bmwnasher

The Apache Helicopter has a 20mm canon that fires at a rate of 2,000 rpm! Pretty cool to watch and hear the gun go off!

  • Never the less it can not be fool by any bait

  • Given a generous muzzle velocity of 1000m/s and altitude > 10km the aircraft hast at least 10s to evade by 2-5 meters from its original trajectory. Lacking detection ability you could institute constant manoeuvring over the artillery.

Even if the aircraft doesn't evade you have to detect exactly its speed and altitude as well as wind conditions before you can know where you have to shoot.

I'm not an expert, but I'd be very impressed if they can make it actually useful on the battlefield.

  • dude think about it, these are probs cheaply made, they link say 20 together in 50 meter radius, thats what the guy said in iranian, then shoot all simultaneously, there will be a very high chance the plane will go down

  • Keep in mind that most anti aircraft projectile were equipped with proximity fuze. The projectile do not need a direct impact to kill the target. Fragments will do the job.

  • The theory is that the shells are pre fused to blow into a cloud of shrapnel in the sky. Now imagine 6 of them firing at once controlled by 2 guys in a bunker with a smart fire and control system. its cheap, effective and creative. A fighter/cruise missile can easily be taken out with lethal shrapnel hits on its frame.

  • Rofl I was kinda scared at 4:22 xD

  • This is pretty nice technology. Does anyone know how high of a target it can hit?

  • a radius of 40km

  • Afarin
