That makes me think of years ago when I had to translate text files between the apple, commodore, atari and eventually pc machines so clients could re-use their files without having to retype them all in. So long ago, i do not remember all what I did. Now everything is pretty much standardised.

1. Is that similar to the C64 "Magic Voice Cartridge"? I had 1 as a kid in the mid-80's. Really cool/fun.

the screen - is it just a TFT TV set, or is it a stand-alone monitor? If the latter, how do you get the C64 converted to it?

I have seen converters for RGB video signal from old devices like VCRs, C64 etc to HDMI, but they're quite pricey... (70..80 USD or something). It would rock so much to be able to hook up my trusty C64 to my big TFT screen . . .
