  • A gun is a gun, but after watching this I can see why Soviet Officers were keen to get there hands on the TT-33

  • @runlarryrun77 Sure, who wouldn't want faster and heavier firepower? But the Nagant pistol, as it is, is not a bad firearm. It's just from a much more primitive time in the evolution of revolvers. But isnt' it just funky cool with a bit of Verne mixed with a little steam punk?

  • @tjsogmc True, plus its far better than no gun at all + it won't ever jam up.

  • Interesting comments. There seems to be a lot of people who think a 117 year old revolver design is slow and underpowered, that's a revelation to me, thank you guys for pointing it out. The Nagant comes from a time when swords and horse cavalry were military doctrine, yet this particular revolver is still popular with sport shooters and is probably the only firearm from that era that you can buy for about a hundred bucks (in like new condition) and still shoot safely. Think about it.

  • @tjsogmc It may be considered underpowered compared to today's guns and ammo, but it's still certainly effective in the right hands. Shot placement is one of the most important factors, and it still has more than enough power to kill.

  • @RoninEnsse I agree 100%. Nobody, not one, of my friends or coworkers that are "into" guns have taken me up on my offer of being shot with my "underpowered" Nagant just so they can prove to me once and for all the Nagant is clumsy, slow and underpowered. In any case, the Nagant is a historic firearm that hasn't been made in 70 years, so it's far from being a "new design' gun on the market. If it was new then yes, it would be a POS.

  • @tjsogmc Haha! Hell, I wouldn't even want to be shot by a bb gun, so I don't blame them. XD But anyway, you know what might be interesting? I'd like to see a new, updated version of the Nagant. If it had a couple improvements, like a slightly sturdier frame and barrel so it could handle modern cartridges, an easier-to-use case ejection method, and if it were chambered in .357 Magnum or .327 Magnum (if you want to stick with the .32 caliber), I think it would make for a good modern revolver.

  • I really like my nagant. its a fun gun to shoot. but to reload rather than use the terrible. I just take out the cylinder shake it a little bit and load up 7 new rounds. Thats what my neighbor told me his grandfather did to reload during wwII. Apparently in his grandfathers unit in russia, the lucky ones got revolvers everyone else just got molotov cocktails

  • "crap". My keyboard stuck.

  • I'll be honest. I don't like 'em because they just look wrong. For that time frame, I think I'll just stick with a Colt SAA. However, the Nagant is a fine pistol, and don't think I'm saying it is.

  • did u try to load nagant with pulling hammer? (its dangerous, but much faster)

  • хороший пистолет

  • original instruction, cartridge cases should fall out under its own weight

  • well, that gun will never be in a video game...

  • @PrivatePeterson

It already is in few video games. ;)

  • @GvardiyaBY

    Metro 2013 has a .44 version

  • @DirtyFrigginHarry

Death to spies have silenced one. ;)

  • I want it

  • @GearsofHaloTheftHalo my eyes... they burned... cuz it was so fast...

  • I thought that this revolver's cylinder would cycle when you pulled the trigger with the gate open.

  • This gun was in 10 wars and still do the job... Amazing....

  • @lorddinaire Not too amazing no, horrible pistol for war

  • @HiCapacity .Well. This gun was used in the boxer war in XIX century to the Russian-japanese war, russian revolution, WWI. WWII, and so on until the Viet-nam war. I guess they know why..

  • @lorddinaire Because there's an abundance of them and they're easy to get and EVERYWHERE. That's the only reason. It's a shitty war pistol.

  • @lorddinaire funny thing, while the nagant was used during all of those wars it was not popular in a single one of them, you had instances of Russians using the old .44 russian schofield up through ww2 not to mention it was officially replaced by the tokarev in the 30s, essentially it was one step above throwing rocks and nobody used it unless they couldent buy borrow or steal somthing better. the only plus of the nagant is that it can use a silencer and thats not much of an advantage

  • @wild50gunner i was thinking to get one, but when I read that it's kind of 32 caliber, I changed my mind.

  • @lorddinaire probably for the best, the nagant is deceptively expensive while you can get the pistol for under $100 the ammo (7.62 nagant) is unique an can not be used in any other firearm ever made and usually costs more than $25 per box of 50 and while you can get a new cylinder to convert it to fire .32 ACP it costs $80 doubling the price of the pistol so you can shoot ammo that costs $16 per box.

if you want a good cheap handgun I would suggest a P-64 $150 at J&G sales

  • @wild50gunner That's what I was thinking. 9x18 (close to 9mm) good quality, cheap ammo. Makes sense.

Thanks. the Nagant should return to $60 range, because it's obsolete, compared with most of the $100/150 range on the market semi auto pistols on 9x18..

  • With my nagant revolver 9/10 bullets will just slide out, and half of the casings that don't slide out i can get with my fingernail. I only had to use the unloading pipe twice out of fifty rounds.

  • 7 bullets?

  • How come it has a 7 round wheel or whatever you call it. i have never seen one like that

  • @CoDCrazy007 Its called a cylinder. Most revolvers hold 5 or 6 rounds, but some can even hold 10 or more. For example, the LeMat Revolver holds 9 rounds (excluding the Secondary barrel).

  • @Volatality o ic

  • what kind of ammo are you shooting? with the 7.62x38 nagant from prvi partizan if you just up end the gun and rotate the cylinder the casings just drop out on their own, thus speeding up reloading time. I know people bash this gun but this would be the first handgun I would grab if I was up against one or two armed opponents, i've never seen a handgun that was this accurate or reliable with proper ammo. Haven't tried 32 s&w longs or any of the stuff other people talk about.

  • Nagant = Belgium

  • 全然、早くないんですけど・・・・

    すごく遅い・・・

  • @GearsofHaloTheftHalo no shit, i was all geared up to see some competition speed reloading

    huge letdown

  • 7?

  • You could possibly save 20 seconds just by removing the cylinder, dump then load it...

  • A way to speed up your reload would be to just use your finger to tap out cases (the lip of the nagant case would be poking out of the cylinder

  • Does the Nagant have any safety devices? Can you load a full cylinder or should you leave an empty chamber under the hammer? Also does the cylinder rotate clockwise or counter? Lol lots of questions about this interesting gun.

  • @ImWatchinTheTube you can load a full cylinder and be perfectly safe until you pull the trigger, the design prevents the firing pin from reaching the shells unless the trigger is pulled or the hammer is cocked. That said, i wouldn't go around dropping it when it was loaded, but then doing that with any gun is a bad idea

  • @gijoe508 OK, thanks.

  • @ImWatchinTheTube I actually use mine as my primary carry most of the time, I always carry it at full capacity, the cylinder rotates on its own until its cocked so even if you leave an empty spot a live round could end up in that spot. I know a lot of people will say I'm dumb for using a 70 year old revolver in a small caliber, but I would rather have the nagant than my .44 any day, its one of the most reliable and accurate guns ever made in my opinion.

  • @gijoe508 Wow! You carry one of these!? I've heard of people buying these for temporary self defense pieces on the cheap, but I've never heard of someone actually carrying one! I guess that's why you know so much about it, it's always good to know what you rely on for self defense inside and out. Thanks again for the information.

  • So many idiots on YT .. This revolver is the only one in the world that can be fit a silencer on it. Slow reloading yes, it is a secondary gun. This revolver wouldn't have served the Russian army for so many decades if it wasn't good. This is a Belgian masterpiece. Idiot call of duty fanboys.

  • Most people fail to see the advantages that the gun has over this one disadvantage. Yes it has a slow reload time, but it's accurate and reliable. You never have to worry about the cylinder alignment because the bullet doesn't need to jump the gap. It also prevents the escape of the propellant through the gap increasing muzzle velocity. Those facts aside, the gun truly is a collectors piece, it was made for a different time period. That doesn't make it shitty, it makes it historic.

  • @drachen429

I'm sorry, but did you just say the nugget revolver was accurate?

  • @DirtyFrigginHarry I get a two inch group with one stringer out of factory ammo, at 25 yards. Some would call that pretty accurate for an 80 year old revolver than has seen more action than all the people posting on this video.

  • @spankyownz

Wow. I'd have figured it would be next to impossible with the heavy pull. I'd definitely get one of these if I had a ready source of .32 S&W . Even if its uses are somewhat limited, its such an interesting piece

  • @DirtyFrigginHarry I do all my nagant shooting in SA, if you get in there with sand paper and file, and know what you're doing, you can get your SA pull down to just about the same as a modern revolver. The one I shoot with is a 1944 dated, and I got the trigger pull down to 7.34 pounds, when I first got it, it was sitting at 19.27. Most of the trigger weight is from the Russians not polishing the internals of it. They didn't do any grinding or polishing after machining, except the exterior.

  • @spankyownz

What do you normally use for ammo?

  • @DirtyFrigginHarry Privi Partisan. Fiocchi ammo is under powered for the the round, and the "crimp" at the end of the round looks like it was done with a pipe wrench. Of course the only way to capture the true power of the round is to reload your own. This round was once compared to a .357. But so much like 10mm factory rounds, they aren't anything like they used to be.

  • @spankyownz .32 H&R Magnum* in place of .357. Sorry, I got confused with another video I was commenting on. And 32-20 whinchester is another round my range buddy often compares it to.

  • What a piece of shit gun. If I owned a Nagant, I would never fire it. I would melt it down and turn it into a normal fucking revolver...

  • @spiderpig85 your an idiot

  • @1979aerocaprice Its a joke, im sure youll get over it.

  • So what are you shooting out of the Nagant?

    Not the normal ammo.

  • last time i cheked a nagant was a topaction revolver

  • @missqueencunt2 Hey genius check again. What a dunce!!

  • WOW! Thats fast for a Nagant! I borrowed one, once and it took me about a minute just to unscrew the ejector road.

  • About 30 seconds reload. That's good :)

  • bah

  • ummm... why is this impressive?

  • @mechoman444 Because that revolver is a pain in the arse to reload. This is how you do it:

    1) Unscrew the ejector rod and flip down the loading gate. 0:04 - 0:07

    2) Manually rotate the cylinder, and punch one casing out. Repeat seven times. 0:07 - 0:23.

    3) Screw ejector rod back in. 0:23

    4) Reload all seven cylinders, one at a time. 0:25 - 0:36

    5) Close loading gate. 0:37

Annnd, that's one of the many reasons swing out cylinders and top-breaks became so very popular.

  • (2/2) ...that can offer some insight on loading a grain higher than 98 in the 7.62 brass, should I decide not to convert to .32ACP? I think that 120 grain would offer more practicality to the revolver (I keep reading reviews of it that say it's underpowered), so I can't help but wonder if, one, it's safe to load the round that high, and two, if they make slugs that are as heavy as that for that round.

  • Yall a bunch of haters maine....

  • If you don't want to get bashed for being slow then don't post a video calling it a "speed reload". You weren't any faster than anyone else could have done. People click on it hoping to see something a little less underwhelming.

  • @joninwv These things are bitches to reload. That was actually quite fast.

  • Nice work! I love my Nagant.

  • Enough of talking about how the .327 federal magnum is too high of a pressure to shoot out of a nagant 1895 revolver. What about an abuse test. We all would like to see someone test an unmodified nagant revolver shooting 50 rounds of factory .327 federal magnum through it.

  • if this go slower, it can actually go Back in time... hehe..

  • I've been thinking about getting one of these and an aftermarket cylinder so I don't need to go searching for the weird ammo.

  • @chitoryu12 Ammo is not hard to locate. J&G Sales has the Revolver for 100$, And the Ammo for 50 rounds for 30 Dollars. Expensive, I know, But you dont need to shoot .32ACP when the Nagant Ammo is readily available.

  • @inotcookie553 I can agree, though I think that it'd be more cost effective to go with .32 ACP considering it's right around half the price of the 7.62 Nagant. Not to mention that I've seen some .32ACP loads that are pretty massive.

As for the video, I have to say that you're quite quick at this. I've been trying to speed up my reload time with my Nagant, but now that I've seen you I'll have to take a leaf out of your book. ;D

Also, anyone have experience with loading the 7.62 Nagant...

  • @chitoryu12 Don't do it. I have bought three cylinders from different websites and they all had to have fitting done to them, the third one, wasn't balanced and the left side of the cylinder was "flat" on one side. You're better off buying factory ammo, rather than modifying your revolver to shoot .32 which in my experience isn't accurate coming out of the nagant barrel.

  • sleight of hand pro i think so

  • I think the fastest way to reload a Nagant is to buy another fucking Nagant.

  • @shodan1028

lol idd, if i was cool i would run around with 10 nagant revolvers, when out of ammo i would swap to another nagant lika a BAWS ;D

  • shit.. i feel your pain.. i have one that i shot .32 Long out of and holly hell those shells expand alot in it.

  • I'd be willing to bet money that anyone who says this guy was "slow" has never had to load one of the freaking things. Also, for those going on about how "bad" a gun it is try to think just a bit here. You know World War I? That began almost twenty years AFTER this weapon was designed.

For it's time, this was a pretty impressive tool. Especially given that you can actually put a silencer (Hey, that's what they were called first. "Suppressor" is only a recent term) on the thing.

  • geez I can see why they carried swords now lol

  • Why they ever switched from the S&W Model 3 is beyond me.

  • Nagant M1895 has good safety, there's a firing pin block that stays in place til the trigger is fully depressed. Only down side to the revolver is low accuracy, slow firing, and very slow reloading. If silencers are legal where you live however, then it's pretty cool to know you can silence this revolver if you use the special 7.62x38 ammo. On cocking, the cylinder is forced forward, sticking the long 38mm casing into the barrel causing a gas seal on firing. Results in a BIT more velocity.

  • I can tell from your other vids, that your the reason our gun laws are so screwed up,

If they use you as an example ,the rest of us real gun owners will pay the price.

Respect you weapon man. They dont make them anymore.

  • @shadowman3861 huh?

  • @shadowman3861 Yeah, which videos are you talking about? I'm not being belligerent, just asking. I've watched a few and they all seem to be following standard TREAT NEVER KEEP KEEP safety rules and using solid backstops. Apart from some bump-firing (which might seem dumb but isn't illegal or considered unsafe by most) I don't see anything abnormal (and I'm both prior service and a competitive shooter at my university). I certainly don't see it with this vid.

  • so are you using .32 S&W instead of 7.62x38R?

  • My friend has had one of those for years. And, after years of practice, his best reload time is around 30 seconds. And that's using the correct rounds for it. That was pretty damned fast.

  • lol fail russian engineering

  • @Apichapsaroo except the engineering is Belgian.

  • ahhh old ass guns^.^ they are just so much fun arent they?

  • Was this vid filmed at a shooting range in Hillsdale MI? It looks like a place I used to hang out at.

  • sounds like a pussy ass bb gun

  • @Baller527 It's not a high energy cartridge but would you volunteer to take a round for testing?

  • @Baller527 It is a model 1895. Stop and think about that for a second. 1895. Just how many inexpensive reliable accurate double action gas sealed seven shot revolvers was Colt making 116 years ago?

  • @Miata822 Excellent point. I have a Nagant and love it! But it is a very old design and it is what it is, no more, no less.

  • @Baller527 yesw, but understand that the nagant SEALS to the barrel when fired so much of the sound is not there and the gas that makes that BANG is used to propel the bullet down range. Or you can go fuck urself, the choice is urs!

  • remember that weapons like this are for self defence or for last ditch actions and are not really meant for serious active combat situations

  • ITs impossible to speed load this revolver.

  • i did it fast b4 like 20 seconds

  • He is an idiot. sooooo slow. my grandma load this gun quicker than you.

  • @DonDeMiguel have you even seen a nagant?

  • There's no point doing a speed reload video of one of these on a bench for a few reasons.

    1. You're on a bench, people didn't line up benches rank and file to have battles.

    2. This revolver dates back to when swords and cavalry were still used, you didn't reload them.

    3. Similarly to point 2, reloading speed is only important in modern combat, recreative, historical shooting like this doesn't place emphasis on it.

  • @ihaterobbie123 Yeah, well, there's no point in owning one of these things, either. It's about sport.

  • Josey wales/pale rider that shit... get some extra cylinders...

  • Sideport revolvers like the Nagant are a freaking pain to reload in a hurry, that is why you rarely see those types of revolvers outside precision shooting, plinking or hunting. This was actualy quite fast.

  • Man you spend more time reloading the son of a bitch than you do shooting it.

  • Holy shit! I blinked and I missed it!

  • Here's a simple solution: Be like a pirate and carry six or seven Nagants on your chest, and draw them out and shoot as you please. That's almost fifty or so shots, and no reload needed. Done.

    (sarcasm)

  • *BANG* Dead.

  • Comment removed

  • No. No it wouldn't work and you should be ashamed of yourself for saying something like that.

  • aaaandd.. your dead mate sorry!!!

  • cool revolver, but not gonna bring it into combat..lols

  • slight of hand perk lollll

  • Thats pretty Fast.... FYI The Nagant Extractor rod doesn't naturally line up with the cylinder. You have to rotate it till it lines up... and you almost always have to use it! It isn't like the Single Action Army where you rotate the cylinder and the rounds fall out on their own, and if one get stuck you hits the Extractor rod thats pre-aligned, Nagant is all manual and it takes for ever! Use it for the first 7 shots then drop it and pull an Automatic.

  • weird I actually like this revolver not as a speed load but as a classic firearm

  • That was real good. Nice shirt too

  • Now try with the Wehrmacht shooting at you.

  • Not bad. I must say that I prefer break tops, myself. Good job, though!

    God bless.

    The Preacherman.

  • fastest my ass dude XD

  • I have my MG 42 modified to reload that way!

  • @Furzkampfbomber what? u mean one at a time?

  • @BSfanboy113 Yes. It makes combat far more interesting!

Naaa, actually I just felt like making a not so intelligent comment. :)

Btw, as I see it the guy reloading his Nagant is quite fast considering that the shell casing have a nasty habit of getting stuck in the chamber.

  • Comment removed

  • as you use the push rod to remove a case you should be inserting a fresh round at the same time its much faster that way you just have to keep count good job though im about the same speed with mine.

  • I've noticed in these videos that almost everyone forgets to count the rounds they've shot.

  • a very dificult to load pistol that never got popular with soldiers thats why the .44 scofield revolver (that the nagant was ment to replace) was still used right up through WW2 by the troops who could get one

  • CALL OF DUTY4 IS FASTER YOU SUCK

  • @Twisted771- you suck just for playing call of duty, have fun spending your life claiming experience you have in a video game fucktard

  • @ARTONY92 Seeing as they didn't even have Nagants in COD4, I'm pretty sure Twisted771 is trolling.

  • The guys talking crap have never actually used or loaded this gun. Just shows how many morons there are to be found on youtube.

  • @hrafnblod damn right, im glad to see someone here has a brain. Unloading that type of revolver can be a pain in the ass and until someone has done what he is doing in the video for themselves, they have no right to say anything about it.

  • @LilithLibitina13 I figure the people bashing on him have only used the more modern types that come equipped with an ejector, and can receive speedloaders. And I'd wager some of them wouldn't even know what a loading gate is.

  • @hrafnblod yea really, it wouldnt surprise me if most everyone doing the bashing hasnt heard of a loading gate.

  • I still love this video - surprised its gotten so many hits!

  • i guess if ur in a fire fight with this gun u better not have to reload lol

  • EPIC FAIL.... i could reload a 10lb. gun faster

  • 'Much Better!' lol, than what? my mom speed loading a revolutionary musket?

  • @LetsGo6009 hahahaha

  • these are some of the slowest reloading revolvers out there, so good job

  • That's not bad at all. Anyone saying otherwise doesn't know shit.

  • Oh jesus, I hate how most people are saying LOL U SO SLOW.

Nagant's are bitches to reload, so this is actually quite fast.

  • @ToastyW33N just imagine having to do it as german ss swarm your ass

  • LAME

  • haha there's coca cola

  • i assume the words "speed load" should be taken with a pinch of salt?

  • yea thats ummmmmmmmmmmmmmm thats realy slow i would quite like to have a duel with you

  • @Wulfsige107 Don't underestimate them They are awsome guns and one of the few revolvers you can actually use a silencer on.

  • @hotshot331 what do you mean use a silencer on?..do they come with threaded barrels?

  • @martywhitevan I believe so (at least they are easy to modify). It doesn't work on other revolvers because of the escaping gas from the cylinder when you fire, but since the cylinder on these guns move forward when you pull the trigger, no gas will escape (it increases muzzle velocity).

  • that would suck in a zombie apocalypse

  • Ha the war would be over by the time YOU reloaded!!!! AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHh HAHAHAHAHHAHAAH

  • God help you if you 7 shots isn't enough.

  • Is this video a fucking joke?

I want my 47 seconds back.

  • @biodole

No, it isn't a fucking joke at all. Given the nagant revolver's design, this IS a speed reload.

  • @L0ENze1337

lol hardly...this is a slow version of a speed reload for the Nagant. I wanted to see something impressive...was hoping for one of the few people around who still know how to QUICKLY and properly speed reload the Nagant. The video description says "the fastest reload ever" so I was assuming this video would have some crazy fast Nagant reload...which it simply did not.

  • @biodole

I'll agree that this isn't the fasted reload i've seen for a nagant, but it's not like he's just taking his time with it and claiming to be a speed reload.

  • nice pistol... a classic. my grandfather has one exactly like that.

  • @elijahbalong You're fucking lucky, and your granfather mor than you ! This is a piece of History. :-)

  • This is a 7+1 gun. You shoot the 7 rounds in the chambers, then you can throw the damned thing at the enemy. Maybe he'll pick it up and try to reload it, should hold him for the summer.

  • @halfassedfart LOL! beautiful :))

  • you need to CALM THE FUCK DOWN!!!

  • Hey good job Butterfingers. if it were up to you, everyone in Russia would be speaking German.

  • THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!

  • at least you had fun shooting...however, i did not like that hammer slip after you loaded it....have fun, but be safe

  • That must have been really fun to do on the battlefield under the stress of combat.

  • Record timing there. For a nagant.
