This is probably gonna sound really geeky, but I always pictured John sort of...singing this to himself along with Anthony. I've read Scar Tissue, so I know what this song is ACTUALLY about, but parts of it are so appropriate to his story, like the "are you wasting away in your skin" line. And when he comes in at 1:38 with that gorgeous harmony, I always picture Frusciante singing like he's trying to reassure himself...crazy and geeky, I know.
