  • OMG! When jackie kennedy starts crying i feel like crying with her so sad she must have loved him so much poor woman what a hard life she had God rest her xx From a massive Kennedy family !

  • To think that Bastard Johnson had the nerve to even show up and stand behind Jackie and those kids. Obviously gloating inside at his (and Hoovers) accomplishment. Hoover took care of the cover up in Washington, and LBJ's TX Mafia took care of things in Dallas as they had for 30+ yrs. Indeed "Let them see what THEY have done" as she staunchly refused to remove that bloodied pink dress. Jackie knew, and Bobby certainly knew the forces that put her husband and his beloved brother in that casket!

  • This is quite possibly the saddest video I've ever watched. During this horrific time, she was somehow able to show class and dignity. She had so much strength. I cant even imagine what she went through. I hold her with the highest respect.

  • What is the name of the song near the end of the video?

  • @huskyjerk ...The hymn near the end is called ' For those in Peril on the Sea'

  • @n0iwont Thank you. It is such a gripping and moving tune. Very emotional music.

  • One of my Mom's classmates at the time critcized Jackie Kennedy for "not crying." I guess her dumb ass missed this.

Such of a very sad version of "Hail to the Chief." Brings tears to the eyes.

  • @snoops71 Yes, Jackie cried. Even if she had not, she was very respected for her dignity and class and the way she held herself up during this horrific tragedy. Imagine if your husband was shot dead right beside of you... there is no doubt she was in pain.

  • @rolltideroll388 Yes, she displayed such strength during that time. I've always admired that.

  • Most of the american presidents and other admired historic figures had affairs. Try again.

  • It was reported that Mrs Kennedy had asked the US Navy Band to play "Ruffles and Flurishes" and "Hail to the Chief" at a slower pace then normal before President Kennedy was carried into the Captial. They did so, and it was one of the best renditions ever played by a US military band.

  • I have a 3 year old son and to see that little boy salute his murdered father breaks my heart and moved me to tears.....people have some compassion for others albeit with their human fralities..

  • I find it very rude that people are taking to this video to discuss his affairs. Classless.

  • It happens in the US too. The US thinks it is mightier and holier than thou, but it is just that same as other nations. Coups happen here and so do civil wars and domestic terror!

  • It is so sad to watch the pain in her face as they are playing hail to the chief. Poor Jackie...

  • Man, maybe she didn't cry was because she had gotte her "REVENGE"..She had ben huminated one too much...thus her affair with Bobby Kennedy, her marriage to the old pervert, Aristotle. Man, she got the Kennedys GOOD! Who knows....Too much drugs...and wild living...Who killed Kennedy???

  • And Monichat - the President of The United States PRIVATE Life IS his PUBLIC Life too. While he's in office he is suppose to uphold the office. If Military Officers can be court Martialed for affairs because they have NOT upheld the HONOR and duty of their commission, so should the President. I dont care if its a Democrat OR Republican, they should be impeached and removed from office. I'm not just painting Dems trust me. I'm sick of ALL of them lately.

  • he had affairs with lyk 5 other women..and jackie knew it she almost divorced him...she was strong enough 2 hold her self together for the country

  • It's well documented that JFK's affairs and health problems did not hinder his performance as president.

  • Sorry, BUS, combined this with all of his reckless womanizing, which the MSM knew about and did not report! Plus his comsumption of drugs.....his affair with Judy Exter Campbell, Mafia mistress to Giancana..who some was behinf his assasination...Yeah, health issues did not impair his judgment! Yeah Right!

  • You're right. This is the only video where she is shown losing her composure and crying (0.39sec.). The rendition of "Hail to the Chief" was too much for her. If you read Manchester's "Death of a President," just before leaving the White House for the Capitol, she nearly collapsed b/c they had opened the casket for her to put in letters from her and the children to the President.

  • I have seen lots of footage of the aftermath of the assassination and the funeral and this is the only clip that shows Jackie actually breaking down and crying during that whole four days. What an incredibly strong person she must have been.

  • I will never believe those stories about JFK having affairs, why would he with such a beautiful wife. The Republicans did everything to make us stop loving him so much, they did not succeed with me. He had work to do, where would he find the time to have afairs ? With Marilyn Monroe, of all people......... NO !

  • You people that say it is Republicans who spread the rumors about JFK having affairs are STUPID.Absolutely STUPID.. I use to think Liberals were just dense but I've almost come to the point were I believe there is actually BRAIN damage in people who refuse to see TRUTH even when its placed on a plate in front of them. AS IN JFK AFFAIRS. IDIOTS. No its not a right wing conspiracy , its just what it was.. period. And no, he wasn't the ONLY one (including Republicans) who've messed around. Idiots.

  • I recognize the republican kind of reply, all name-calling and no substance. Not only did the republicans spread ugly rumors about President Kennedy, they also had something to do with his murder. They knew he would be re-elected in 1964 and just HAD to stop him. BTW if a President has an affair it has to do with his personal life, not his public life. Stop casting the first stone.

  • Funny, you say Republicans just name call and have no substance but in the very next line YOU do even worse. There is solid fact that JFK was having affairs.. but you throw crap out there that YOU have absolutely NO proof of! Almost ANYONE knows it was MOB related when they put all the pieces together in the last good documentary with all the evidence and people. I can definately cast stones. When you are a public figure, FAIR GAME. The Bible says "you shall know them by their fruit", his stunk.

  • What about Martin Luther King, Jr? He was having affairs as well. No one wants to discuss that.

  • What about Martin Luther King, Jr? He was having affairs as well. No one wants to discuss that. Almost every president before and after Kennedy had affairs. Washington was known as the father of country for a good reason-he fathered many children.FDR had affairs, so did lots of other presidents.

  • I think it had more to do with the anti-Castro cuban exiles who were angry with Kennedy for not wanting to invade Cuba. They thought that making Oswald a pro-Castro communist they could get Johnson to retaliate. Instead, Johnson reversed Kennedy's withdrawal plans from Vietnam. Kennedy was for cutting taxes to stimulate the economy. Kennedy would be considered Conservative these days compared to todays liberals.

  • @3dartistguy Some think JFK's death was an "inside job" coz he wanted to pull out of Vietnam.

  • whoa! hey you're smarter than Oliver Stone!

  • I will NEVER forgive the wicked persons who murdered President Kennedy, it was a coup d'état, no less.

BTW: Shouln't this be spelled CAPITOL and not Capital ?

  • To answer the question - "Do you think Jackie really loved JFK?" , I would answer yes. No matter how many "affairs" JFK had, (and I think Jackie knew about them) I truly believe that they loved each other, the way they looked at each other -- you can tell.

  • @rockerchick700 They got closer after baby Patrick's death and wanted more kids.Glad they never had to endure JFK Jr's death.

  • wasn't kennedy known for having a lot of affairs??

  • Women liked JFK, and he had plenty of opportunities. But if he was cheating on this magnificent woman all the time, he never got any work done. He adored and respected her,

whatever got in the way at times.

  • It wouldn't surprise me ,chaddy, that when you go to funerals you say many useless things like that

  • wtf is ur problem? the truth is kennedy had tons of affairs while still married to poor jackie...it doesnt make him a horrible person its just the truth

  • Where can you find a full length video of the Funeral?

  • "Ruffles and Flurishes" along with "Hail to the Chief" has never been played more respectfully and with great dignity then on November 24,1963 by the United States Navy band. With sincere pride and honor for one of the navy's own. May your rest is peace Mr. President....

  • It's heartbreaking when she starts crying. She is a true American icon. I greatly admire her.

  • According to Letitia Baldridge, Chief of Staff to Mrs. Kennedy, the whole house moved as if everyone was in a dream sequence, there was very little noise, you heard people talking to each other, comforting each other but there was very little noise, the White House is usually full of activity & people & you hear sounds & people were walking on tiptoe. Mrs. Kennedy had decided on the major points of what was going to happen & she wanted to follow history & protocol as it occurred in Lincoln's Funeral.

  • I adore her. She's such an amazing woman.

  • do you think Jackie really loved JFK?

  • Part of me truly wishes that I could have held and comforted Jackie at this time. She just seemed so distraught that it brings tears to my eyes.

Hell, I would give anything to give Bobby a hug too with the hope that it would make him feel better.

  • shes my idol.

  • GOOD she SHOULD be

    she's great

    and I idolize her aswell

  • you know what is a GOOd song for Jfk and jackie for this funeral I imagine it playing MY HEART WILL GO ON celine dion

  • Great point, peaceman4u! I also think that is a perfect song for Jack and Jackie. Just look at how heartbroken she looks in this video and from everything I've read, Jack really was, as the song goes, "safe" in Jackie's heart until she joined him at Arlington. Great observation!

  • Aww..when they play "Hail to the Chief" she starts to cry. She's such a strong woman I luv her!

  • My she was a strong woman, bless her...i can't even imagine how she went through all that....love Jackie too...very GREAT LADY...
