The US existed for several years under the Articles of Confederation and all the power was in the hands of the states. The federal government couldn't tax or regulate and you know what? @MakisOfEquinox I know it is easy to be confused about Paul's positions when it comes to social issues, with the way the media mis-represents his stances. Paul is for states rights, giving the power back to each individual state to vote as they see fit. That means:gay marriage, drug legalization, and abortion are issues that the federal government has no place in dictating to us. Paul's position is one of minimal federal government interference. Paul is the Liberty candidate.
If contraceptives were banned, there is no question that people will still use them. All that the ban would do is cause a black market for contraceptions, which in turn would encourage people to re-use condoms, which would then lead to risks of catching diseases the previous users had.
It would also lead to more "self-induced abortions" (look it up if you're not sure what these are). These are unsafe, and can cause serious damage to the fetus and the parent.
So many of you are missing the point. This isn't about contraceptives. It was about the fact that Romney has no idea what the constitution says and the fact that the people in the back are laughing about it says volumes about where we are heading. Ron Paul is the absolute best choice for the people. He is also the worst choice for everyone else. That's why they will not allow him to win and if by chance he does win. Look for an assassination attempt.

They obviously don't know what the Constitution says about having to be a natural born citizen. To curry favor with the Latino vote the Republicans are considering a vp run by Marco Rubio. Rubio is as ineligible as Obama is because his parents were Cuban and not citizens when he was born. Obama's father was Kenyan and that makes him ineligible. Arnold Sweatzneger, Bobby Jindal, and thank God Jennifer Grandholm also are not eligible because you must be born on US soil or a territory.

Paul is for states rights, giving the power back to each individual state to vote as they see fit. If contraceptives were banned, there is no question that people will still use them. All that the ban would do is cause a black market for contraceptions, which in turn would encourage people to re-use condoms, which would then lead to risks of catching diseases the previous users had.
It would also lead to more "self-induced abortions" (look it up if you're not sure what these are). These are unsafe, and can cause serious damage to the fetus and the parent.
Overall, it's bad.

They obviously don't know what the Constitution says about having to be a natural born citizen. To curry favor with the Latino vote the Republicans are considering a vp run by Marco Rubio. Rubio is as ineligible as Obama is because his parents were Cuban and not citizens when he was born. Obama's father was Kenyan and that makes him ineligible. Arnold Sweatzneger, Bobby Jindal, and thank God Jennifer Grandholm also are not eligible because you must be born on US soil or a territory.

@54yoon any question regarding the Constitution of The United States of America is pertinent in any presidential debate. This just illustrates mittens has no idea what the document he has sworn to uphold while in public office contains. Now he wants to swear to uphold it as POTUS. How can you defend a document you don't understand the content of?

@54yoon Whether or not Romney would ban contraception is irrelevant. The point is that he doesn't understand the U.S. Constitution, and he knows that Ron Paul does. So why in hell should we elect a Constitutional idiot like Romney?

@booboobear1701 He Restated the question AND than joked about Ron Paul being a constitutionalists. He told about his opinions on contraception and its done.. they shouldnt be asking if the states have a right to ban contraception(who would never even try to)... Ron Paul said that under the 4th amendment no they cant ban contraception, but the Supreme Courts(who decides if anything is constitutional or not) said Yes they can..The constitution is unclear so how would Romney know

Than go to the 2012 ABC/Yahoo!/WMUR New Hampshire GOP primary debate... after you clicked that let it load for a sec than use the find seach thing(ctrl f) and type in contraception .. That should lead you right to where this video is at... read more and they talk about the supreme courts Griswold v. Connecticut. 1965 than Ron Paul said he mention my name( which was funny to me)... and he gives hes opinion

Are you fucking serious? He was being SARCASTIC because it was such an ignorant and useless question. Even better: Mitt, when prodded further to answer the question, does talk about how it's a state thing but that it's still pointless to bring up because no state wants to do it. That part is conveniently left out. Leaving the rest of it out has nothing to do with copyright. Don't bullshit us. I don't know how anyone in their right mind could frame this as Mitt not knowing the constitution.
