In Newport Beach, there's no sorting. The city waste collection crew collects garbage and dumps it at their yard. The waste is then transported to a facility where the recyclables are then sorted and sold to the market. This saves money on truck fuel and maintenance by sending one truck through each route. Rather than 2 or 3.
Marc seemed like a pretty nice driver. But I'm surprised the other driver (Gilbert?) wasn't helping for that stop until later, had quite a few bins out...also I wonder how Marc knew so much about CR&R taking over half the world lol Drivers there seem all pretty good, just like the manual ones around here. Auto drivers not so much lol thanks for the post
Marc is one of the first drivers I ever filmed in Newport Beach. Gilbert was chatting with a resident because some people renting a house blocked some of her garbage. And someone nabbed her can too. Got that right about auto drivers. Unless it's my greens driver lol. No prob.
Awesome, I would hate it if we had a law against garbage picking here. As for the New Ways they are badass, I really am begining to like New Ways they are uncommpn here though, Rizzo Services has a few and a Smlall company called Runco has one (which I think is their only resi truck, they mainly do roll offs) Did Brian and Mario get truck 27 as their regular truck now?
@RainbowDisposal well i garbage pick and repair lawn equipment as a hpbby then I sell it on Craigslist, I also have gotten several of my bins from trash piles (thats how I got my Laidlaw bin, Tucker - manual bin and reycle bin- twist n lock 32g, Zarn, and some others) Ah alright
Awesome job! Why is Rainbow collecting on the beaches now? What happened? I probably don't remember seeing one of their new ways before, but they're great little trucks, are they all switching to new way?
So, Newport Beach passed a law that enables them to arrest trash diggers?
That is just going wayyy toooo far!
They do not collect a seperate recycling stream and CR&R does a sloppy job at best of sorting the recyclables from the waste after it is dumpped at there facility yet if anyone else tries to divert anything from landfill either by trying to recycle or reuse, they get arrested?
WOW, I know many there who live off of what they save from the trash. They do us a service by keeping stuff from landfill and now they pass a law and make them criminals!
jesus donmt these people ever recyle next therell be a dead body in the truck

@mtr82952
Thanks, I wouldn't. I don't think 27 is their regular truck because I saw several other drivers on different trucks.

Thanks. IDK why but that obviously means no more "Bigfoot" :( Not sure when they'll buy more new trucks. But anything new is most likely New Way.

Yes they did. Costa Mesa and Santa Ana is trying to do the same. Not sure exactly why though.
