It's just idea of Operation Flashpoint (really BIG map) in the WW2 theme, nonetheless. Graphic is better than in MOHAA, isn't it? - or it's the same? I can't remember, need to play it once more.
@TorisLaCroixFilms they're working on graphic update now to the character models will have higher textures. you can dig a foxhole now with infantry and a sapper can build a bunker. the foxhole when positioned well makes survival as infantry go way up because it builds this horseshoe shaped berm around you and can be placed in bushes
If you want a realistic WWII combined arms game then WWIIOL is one you should consider. This video is a few years old and graphics have improved a fair bit. The strategic layer and campaigns (that last weeks) are two huge plusses.

I just tried this game....It was riddled with bug and the community was full of ass holes....the second i started to talk about how something was wrong with my game the players kept saying that it was my fault and that i was stupid and so on and that i needed to learn the game (even tho i did)and so on. Even after a gm told me that the issue was with me and threatened to ban me for life, i just stopped a day later i find out on the forums that the issue was indeed a bug and a big one at that.

i wouldn't say no because its an on going project. but currently its kind of balanced. say they added USA, who had a semi auto rifle, currently rifles are bolt action in game, but they kill you in one hit. if they add new factions they have to rework all the current weapons and they would have to redesign alot of things because its based on historical accuracy, adding new factions is not an easy project for them to do without making the game unplayable
It would be tottally shiiiiiit cool if DICE, Infinity Ward, Treyarch, EA, Makers of Battlegorund Europe got together and made 1 game, it would be a reconstruction of ww2 but with the whole earth as a map, fly over oceans, battle, fight, bomb, that would be tottaly awesome.
i agree but EA and DICE would have to fundamentally change their approach to game design and dumb down their FX's. It is all on one server, which is played on the entire map of europe. Each town is labled and marked. You actually have real players in the HQ that issue attack orders and defense orders. The map is made to where it will show if the enemy is present or not. So just by looking at the map you know where the action is and what orders are given.
Expect to die a lot without getting kills and not know where to go at the begin though.
The good thing of this game in contrary to mmorpgs, anyone can kill anyone.. the bad thing is that the Level system is replaced by reallife-experience meaning you need a lot of practise before you become good. Upside of this is that once you know the basics, someone who plays 1 hour a week can be better than someone who plays 30 hours.
I have downloaded it now, will install and try it later today. I have mostly been playing hoi2 and hoi3 the last couple of years, not very into fps, but will give it a real shot.
Some advice to you, there is tutorials out there that are very helpful, try to find them by a guy named snoop.
Also here is something you should take to heart, travel with other players, do not fight alone. Use cover whenever and where ever you can, and be paitent!!! This is not a fast paced CoD game, the only time you will see fast paced action and shooting is when a town is about to be over ran, other times be careful and cautious, and a rifle can shoot farther than an SMG :)
I liked this game, but I think they should create additional fronts besides France (which allows you to play as English, German, and French forces) like the Eastern Front (allowing you to play as Soviet, Italian, and German forces) and the Pacific (allowing you to play as Japanese and American forces), then it would be beyond epic as compared to it being incredibly epic already. Do they really have the largest game map ever? Covers all of WWII France, or so I'm told. Huge.
@Anitrex4Anitrex Those system requirements are for version 1.31 wich is currently nearing the end of the open beta phase. That patch improves the graphics although the terrain resolution still remains sucky.
You can see for 2+km in this game, so you can hear/see a tank moving 1km away and flank around to kill it for example.
But the game really isn't about graphics, its about the first M out of MMO. And playing with many different types of stuff.

One question to people who still play (I left it some time ago), with this patch you are commenting it's gonna be released soon (Ragdoll physics and all the stuff) are they going to improve the connection? I mean, as seen in 1:48 and more time when infantry is killed, does it still take some time to "die". It was fun when you killed one while capturing and he killed you.
Tank warfare in WW2OL is extremely realistic and there also is pretty realistic air combat.
But most importantly WW2OL is a MMO. hundreds of players on one single server fighting on one map which covers the whole western front. (it would take several days to walk across it)
Everything from the high command down to each single infantry man is player controlled.
The graphics are pretty outdated but there should be an update soon.
This is a GREAT game! Its actually one of those games were I take cover and actually run with my leader and stuff. OMG this is SOO fun.. I'll admit I used to be a COD 4 guy, once I started playing this, I WAS ADDICTED, non stop playing. It so tactical, no noobish players to complain so much, and soo realistic, I recommend anyone who can spend money for a subscription, GET THIS!

Don't try to force realism where realism is neither possible nor fun!
Unreasonable realistic play. (Every shot and soft spot is made realisticly bur you are fighting the war with 50 men which is not realistic. Tank are alone and at the mercy of grenades. Yes grenades can kill tanks. You can kill a tiger with an SMG).
Try it if you want but you will feel like me after 3-6 months.
If i am going to pay 14 dollars to play, then at least improve the graphic

I checked the minimum requirements of this game and it says that you require at least a "512Mb Graphic Card with SM3 Support" and 2GB Ram :-!!!

And it also states that you need at least a 128+ MegaByte internet connection.

You can see for 2+km in this game, so you can hear/see a tank moving 1km away and flank around to kill it for example.
But the game really isn't about graphics, its about the first M out of MMO. And playing with many different types of stuff.

First stage - Killed without knowing what the hell is going on.
Second stage - Know what is going on but still die without any idea of how or where it came from
Third stage - See enemy that kills you but aren't even close to killing him
Fourth stage - Kill enemy but are immediately killed by another enemy
etc.
etc.
One of the best games i've ever played. Air combat is on par with any Sim I've played (including il-2). Literally the balls. Buy it!

@lgnrome they use teamspeak and after you join an alliance you join a division. it's really fun, really addictive, and really expensive (for me) at $15 a month. If you can afford it, get it. no question.

One question to people who still play (I left it some time ago), with this patch you are commenting it's gonna be released soon (Ragdoll physics and all the stuff) are they going to improve the connection? I mean, as seen in 1:48 and more time when infantry is killed, does it still take some time to "die". It was fun when you killed one while capturing and he killed you.

Not really.
Tank warfare in WW2OL is extremely realistic and there also is pretty realistic air combat.
But most importantly WW2OL is a MMO. hundreds of players on one single server fighting on one map which covers the whole western front. (it would take several days to walk across it)
Everything from the high command down to each single infantry man is player controlled.
The graphics are pretty outdated but there should be an update soon.

This is a GREAT game! Its actually one of those games were I take cover and actually run with my leader and stuff. OMG this is SOO fun.. I'll admit I used to be a COD 4 guy, once I started playing this, I WAS ADDICTED, non stop playing. It so tactical, no noobish players to complain so much, and soo realistic, I recommend anyone who can spend money for a subscription, GET THIS!

War Rock is a twitch-fest shooter that is not on the same scale as World War 2 Online and features tacked-on vehicles to make it seem as if it's a Battlefield/Counter Strike hybrid.

In it's current form WW2OL is just not worth the time and money.
Way too few players, too bad graphics (infantry have nowhere to hide), too much fake realism.
Weapons, vehicles and so on are extremely realistic but the whole spawning 1km outside of town, sneaking into town, airquake, camped bases, etc. is just annoying.
Don't try to force realism where realism is neither possible nor fun!

Many new Lame players (Mostly Allied)
Unreasonable realistic play. (Every shot and soft spot is made realisticly bur you are fighting the war with 50 men which is not realistic. Tank are alone and at the mercy of grenades. Yes grenades can kill tanks. You can kill a tiger with an SMG).
Try it if you want but you will feel like me after 3-6 months.

Its game community WAS massive. Now its only the half, may be less than the player number 3-4 years ago.
Those days, they had a player counter which they removed when they figured that numbers are too low to show.
