Questionable voice acting aside, this game is at best OK. The flying sections? Awesome. The on-foot sections? could've been better. The story? Pretty good. Characterization? Great. To me this is the first true Star Fox game where we actually know the personalities of the characters.

Shame it would totally snowball once Command comes out.

I wish they would put more effort into the voice acting considering that voice acting is part of what made Star Fox 64 such a smash hit. I also wish the dialog wasn't so corny, though the series is known for that so it's not surprising.

But I honestly didn't think the gameplay was half bad. At least the on-foot missions let you switch in and out of vehicles if one was around. There's a lot of gameplay variety there. And having 3 different control schemes to choose from was nice.

On the new Starfox games (if there is one...) They need to have better voice acting, and when they "come up" on the "radio" at the bottom of the screen their animated faces need to be more like there is a camera in the cockpit with them instead of a static face with mouth and eye movement only. Just some ideas :)

@wowbob22123 It was going to be released so near the end of the SNES life cycle, they just decided to wait for the N64 and make a whole new game. Also, Star Fox 64 is a remake of the original, so the timeline goes SF64 > Star Fox Adventures > Star Fox Assalt. No-one can say if Command is canon or not yet, since there's so many different endings.

The next Star Fox game should have some elements from Starcraft 2. Meaning between missions you control fox and walk around through the Great Fox or even a base on a friendly planet and interact with other characters, and let you choose which mission you want to pursue next.

@xXxwtfpepoxXx I think the reason is because Adventures wasn't originally a Star Fox game. It was already made and then when Rare were asked to make a Star Fox game for the GC, they just turned Dinosaur Planet into a Star Fox game. I think Assault was supposed to bring Fox back to "his roots", if you like, and add in some new stuff too (with the on-foot and tank sections). I played both and I liked both, but I think I had more fun with Assault.
