bravery, in my view, is facing your own fear. people who do stuff for the adrenaline rush or who don't feel fear aren't brave.
mosquitos that land on you are all females. they need your blood not for themselves but to nourish their eggs. no blood meal=no offspring! yes- i am an entomologist.
second: it's possible that the idea of using the lion as a symbol of bravery derives from the fact that you have to be brave to go up against one. I don't think animals can be counted as "brave" or "cowardly." Despite our attempts at anthropomorphism, animals do not think in the same way humans do. I guess I'm saying only people can be brave or cowardly because only people have the capacity to define the terms. all that aside, squirrels seem pretty brave.
@StorytimewithAlex But it's also our symbol for bravery, so the symbol should reflect our definition of it regardless of the animal knowing that they do.
Squirrels can be, but I'd say they run away quite often.
@AdamOfNebb Squirrels stand up on their tree limbs and cuss me out all the time and I out mass them by... well, quite a bit. I think that embodies the concept of "brave." Mosquitoes are horrible little creatures that should be exterminated.
If you think the symbol for bravery should be powerful and indolent with a shaggy mane, you're welcome to it.
I think bravery should be small and feisty with cute eyes and a bushy tail.
If you were trying to be serious in a point of, stupid/evil people and things are brave, I agree. I could say this many ways but to do something that one shouldn't do is more risky hence needs more "balls". But to do something risky and not even know the risk that dumb. I'd say deer, a train/car can be coming at it and it'll stare it down. Mosquitoes know not to mess with me,haven't been bit since I was a kid. Went camping and there was tons, the ones that bit me, dead on my legs.poison blood
I think Nerds are pretty brave.
