@discoveryellow Straight tubes probably do have the best strength to weight ratio but I'm guessing that they beefed up the frame and sacrificed a little weight savings so they could have a lower stand over height and still have the necessary room required for the maestro suspension. After all, this is the Reign, not the Anthem. The two bikes have very different purposes.
@discoveryellow I am referring to when you are off the saddle and standing over the bike. Notice how the frame gives you more room for your sensitive bits than a strait top tube style frame would. With the Anthem that isn't as much of an issue because it only has 4 inches of travel rather than 6 inches and is lower to the ground already. The Reign is also meant for more technical trails where you have more potential to hurt yourself on the top tube.
Need a chain guide on that thing... or at least a tensioner.... or even a dangler like the Specialized Stumpy, cause that chain was out of control :P

I like the video, but also think it could be much better. Too long, too slow - this is biking - an active sport after all.
Also why does the guy riding Crank Brothers clip ins in flat shoes?
And BIG QUESTION, why did Giant go the Specialized way with curved frame tubes? I thought Anthem X straight tubes provided best wight and stiffness.

@discoveryellow I can't speak to the length of the video or the frame shape, but those are Vans SPD shoes. I have a pair myself
