@hagenar In other sports there are physical barriers between the athletes and the spectators. In cycling, when climbing on a mountain stage, the spectators are mere inches away from the riders. And I don't think we need to ask how many times riders have been messed by over-zealous fans.
Why is it always about doping with you people? Give as much dope as you want to someone, give him the most powerful s*it out there that's ever been made and see if he can win the TdF 7 times in a row!!!! It's not about the doping, Lance is a machine and so is Ullrich!

@bearmare Actually, if you Google 'violent spectator incidents in sports' you'll see there aren't many sports where spectators haven't been a hazard.
