I think that if u look it enough youll understand that Tony gets shot most likely by the guy in the members only jacket. Google sopranos finale explained...it breaks down the whole episode and the give in at the end is that anytime u hear the bell on the door in the restaurants it immediately switches to Tonys perspective. But the last time the bell rings instead of going back to Tony..it just goes black and silent...which is exactly what Tonys perspective would be..since hes dead.
The last couple of seasons were the best to me. I hated tony's mother and big pussy. It looked like a b-movie version of Goodfellas but by the last couple seasons it looked incredibly realistic and had morphed into something all it's own. And honestly, how the hell did they not know who Carlo was? If you're a pedestrian fan of the show you know that he's a relative character to the ending. I personally think Tony got whacked by the guy who went to the restroom.
Robin has no fucking clue what she's talking about and is trying to pretend that she does... and of course she gives it a C (it's the most neutral grade possible, so it's a 'safe' grade for someone who has no idea about the subject, it allows her to flip-flop on her opinions, plus of course it won't be that far off from Howard's grade).
i agree with Howard, I was initially dumbfounded by it but the more i thought about it the more I enjoyed it. I think the "cut to black" is Tony getting wacked. The scene is his POV, so once he's dead the scene is dead.

I remember the scene where Tony is talking about how when you die "it all goes black". Plus the Godfather references at the end made me think he got clipped. This is how I interpreted the ending and was totally satisfied. But then David Chase had to open his mouth and said how everyone was alright which was the real let down.

The Sopranos had great moments, but as a whole, it was sorely lacking, especially after the first 3 seasons. Great show, but still overrated!!!
